  1. Concurrent ? As many as the server handles. Across campaigns ? More than you can count. Enough of it ; we not discussing what YOU think a mmo is, nor what I think, nor what jodgi thinks, nor what all others think. Gear is NOT what makes a MMO. For me that's it. ... massive is not a boss instance with 12 guys, nor a instanced area with 64. massive is, for example 250 in the same instance, or even more
  2. Go play The Air War (TAW) server and then we talk about that. Most hardcore feature is "dead is dead" brother. Very very few become aces before they go down in flames. Characters are pesistent... until they die. And then, all awards, all medals, all streak, are gone. Seems the MMO definition is highly diluted these days.
  3. It is a player fleet ship. Those can be captured whatever rate
  4. Oh, I totally get you. But the design is "focused", as i interpret it, as simply means to an end. A money making mechanic. Money that will be turned into clans/solo players assets - ships, ports, books, modules, resources. I won't deny a living world with dynamic trade would be ideal but entire design is aimed at - road to combat and conquest. And this cannot be ignored, just avoided. Some players simply like to pursue a sandbox-trader career. Very few, but there are.
  5. Good point. There's indeed a gap between Focused gameplay and Casual gameplay and it has nothing to do with time spent.
  6. My comment was only aimed at quantity of money produced by trade in 11 hours of gameplay ( can be 1 session, can be 6 sessions... matters not). Nothing else. Thank you for trying to read my mind. Don't do it again.
  7. 2.4 millions, in 11 hours. That's like... login/logoff 2 hour sessions ( hops from port to port ) across a week ( or two weeks of every other day playing NA) . Not bad for a "bloody casual". Perfectly acceptable.
  8. 3 puddings from here, 5 jewels from there, 8 bales of tobacco from beyond, sell and buy along the way, cruise you planned ).
  9. Yesterday there were 280 hands in the Peace server, against some 180 in the War server, right at the twilight of EU zone and start of East Coast of the Americas time. Interesting, isn't it ?
  10. Yes, can carry from this weight up to this weight Look, you either give ALL the correct data or the post is "lost" because it lacks all information. It is like reporting a "bug". Without info there's zero chance to even start to verifiy it. So yeah, talk about smartarse attitude. Reckon one needs to be smart first...
  11. @Neads O'Tune Sorry for late edit. Weight of shot ?
  12. Okay, Carronades at 250m. I suppose they hit the LOWER section and not the middle nor the top, taking by your "smart arse" comment. What caliber of carronade ?
  13. With what guns ? What charge ? What shot ? From what distance ? Where did the shots hit ?
  14. USS Constitution BR is 400. IIRC a 1st rate is 900 ? BR values still under review ? ( lethality/staying power of a 1st rate in comparison to a 3rd rate is definitely more than 4:9 ratio )
  15. Exactly what i had in the PZ the other day. zero captains in the SP and a ton of sharks circling in the PZ... I sat there for 45 minutes and it was nassau patrol, so cool little vessels. So, even if i'm not a 1v1mebro kind of player i found the situation to be really comical sad.
  16. Two concurrent Zones per day, 1 for group, another for solo, at different designated spots. Example: - Group Patrol Zone at Aves - Solo Zone at La Mona Next day cycles to other two zones.
  17. Well, there's three things that actually fit in here... 1. when i'm ganked but only pixels hurt 2. when i go GB 3. When some individual says my name in vain
  18. What if the Clan Missions are not solely based on doubloons but also on - XXX amount of Stone Blocks - XXX amount of Provisions - XXX amount of Passengers delivery ( must find passengers willing to go there ofc, so based on the missions, but all passengers delivered there by anyone will count ) while reducing the doubloon amount. ( colonies require construction, supplies and colonists )
  19. That's good. Means more people involved in RvR and clans. I see zero issue with that.
  20. It is a good reason to get involved in RvR then. Thanks.
  21. Sure I understand. But I also hope you understand that is a personal choice. And your personal choice cannot be plastered across the other players faces. I won't touch NA if i don't have 2 hours spare. And that's a rule i set to myself. If i get caught into battle I will have to surrender as i cannot spare the time So why fire up NA with less than that ? As a example, I logged in just now, sailed into a enemy controlled area, lots of french ports. Attacked 2 LGVs AI. 1st one had sabicu and caguarian, and some trade goods, 2nd one had Oak and doubloons. That was done in 30 minutes. I would have 90 minutes to spare to sail the woods from my outpost to my shipyard base. Is okay for me, an average player.
  22. They don't, not 75% overall. I'd say 25% traders carry usable resources ( iron, hemp, woods of all kinds, coal, etc ), the majority is trade goods with a okay proportion of others carrying the trasure in doubloons. But the traders that are around areas of those woods are a good bet. But not only teak and heavy oaks are to be considered. Plenty (by raiding standards ) of sabicu, mahogany, caguairan along with teak and live oak, if hunted in the correct areas will be on the AI traders. For example, at the present moment if you hang around Santa Rosa area you will hit quite a few traders with wood shipments ( along with others with trade goods and good amount of doubloons ). Must go to the regions that have the ports with those woods and then have to bring the captured trader back. There's a risk involved as enemy nations players will also be in the areas.
  23. As I told on voice, the Phoebe was outside the reach of the Essex broadside. Not outside range ; she couldn't train the guns to hit the Phoebe. ( guess Porter didn't have Encyclopedia nor good books and mods ) Actually the guns that were hurting the Phoebe were 3 long 12 pounders moved to the stern, that Essex kept from her standard complement. RL and Game do not relate because: - Essex couldn't tack - Essex couldn't make way with the light winds - Essex couldn't go "upwind" to the Phoebe All three due to the loss of the tops that afflicted her before the battle - she rolled so heavy that the gunwhales were almost at waterline with all the canvas open and BAM, the tops were gone. That more than the gunnry decided the battle. BUT in NA we CAN tack without jibs and we can climb the wind without tops. Malachi example is more to the point of gunnery. I posted a example of carronade usage by British sloop-of-war HMS Redfin a while ago. They did use it close range ( else they would be shot long distance by the enemy longs ).
