  1. Last ones I remember that were silly breaking, Jamaica east approach and north side of cuba T Lynx with 2 Constitutions. Indiaman with 2 Frigates. T Snow with 2 Ingermaland. The Indiaman doesn't really bother me given the BR restriction but I could've engaged all the others and they were fairly close to national ports. to be helped by the other players if they were on their own... Last one I engaged with a fleet was a Snow with 2 pickles out of Pedro Cay. He escaped and the pickles surrendered, ah well 2 less skynet slaves under the yoke of the fleet adepts.*shrugs*

  2. Ironic isn't it ...
  3. Actually the truth behind it ain't related to that. Social is a damn big hint and almost smells like an ultimatum... I hope.
  4. As a true adept of the pirate hardcore way I am ready for that change ( even will be limited to my 7th and 6th rates ) ... when the fleets are removed. Anything other than that I refuse to subject all my brothers in black to such deviations thought of such tradin' tar covered'pillowshaggers. YARR

  5. Regarding film media the 1st season of Black Sails has, in the opinion of many of the specialists, the best representations of naval age of sail combat. ( follow ups are good but not as good ) Not as "shiny" as all others but at least they tried to make it look like it would be - clautrophobic and unexpected incoming on decks - the camera work on the raking really shows that perfectly, no one below the rails has any idea it is coming.
  6. I think the "get Social" witty hint from the devs would get into yer oak thick skulls... but apparently not.
  7. They wouldn't. The Lieutenants would make sure of it. Pretty sure some regulations might even refer to that specific situation.
  8. True. But try Pray. Just try.
  9. Not joking, but did you try Pray ?
  10. I'll take it. Actually make it 5 minutes, not 1 hour it should be enough to logoff and take a break.
  11. Just make the perk cost 10 points and get over and done with it. End of story.

  12. Just to remind every captain that the matches must be arranged in advance along with the judges and will be noticed to any streamer and public alike. From the tests run yesterday doing 3 matches in a evening is no strain IF everyone is set and ready at a moment notice. Also will have a chat with the judges team about something else. AH ! Don't forget about the Team Motto contest. I think it was worth something of value although its true value is humour and witt.
  13. The plot thickens... Thanks for the breakdown Sink this is worth gold and hemp.
  14. Prater brings up a good and functional compromise to the "responsability" of having the perk suggesting that it becomes tied to the BR. I like it.
  15. Reinforcements... good riddance... especially with the overlapping areas... Well, player npc fleets are kind of the "last stand" of the reinforcement days. *shrugs*
  16. Tests last night went okay. Thanks ppl. Will do a couple more today if anyone is up to it to set some things in stone.
  17. I would only touch this part ( I find the basic suggestion interesting ) after the full War&Peace with hostility play is implemented and see what becoems of pvp.
  18. Good approach to the Social perk in regards of the upcoming Hostility, thumbs up. Regarding the Nimitz, well, it surely carries more than potatoes but all will be for the crew and equipment maintenance and not as cargo haul. I do not think the warships will be used as cargo hauling at any extent. It is my firm belief it is still only legacy and will be reduced to the appropriate levels. Warships raiding were plentiful and had cargo capacity but would never replace a proper transport. That's what we have to aim for and not forcefully try to "return" to the comfort of 4000 tons ( it is a lot if you think about it ). So Maritime merchants and Navy ships/Pirate ships cargo allowance warrant a more in depth review. We are going through some major adjustments, that's true. We need to play with the changes to promote further fine tunings IMO.
  19. Yes I won't deny aj that and it comes down to us bad bad people port sniping all the time It is not the norm though, as I see a lot of roaming squadrons.
  20. In a global scale, the NA player community as a whole: - In all honesty we are bad bad people. We break apart every system. We find ways to waylay ambushes using timers, we circumvent every single possibility of a fair fight. In general not one of us can deny the truth that this renewed system shuffles our OW tactics. Oh and port "sniping" is a choice, not a mechanic.

  21. Yes. I know that too well. And I know the risks and actually embrace them. It is part of my playstyle. I won't disagree that there will be many odd situations with the Social thing but by Neptune, the amount of crying because of battles closing and gank/revenge fleets waiting was just too much even for a saint. We, community as a whole, prayed and got what we asked for.
  22. Trying to reason other choices to justify one different choice is really...incorrect. Stop judging.
  23. Both sides can jump into the fight.
  24. After 2 evenings of goofing about I must say that the entire "blahblah storm" was unfounded of sorts. For one the small battles arenas are working, so the Tournament will go smoothly technical wise. Did bump into a pvp battle which surely had the 30 minutes timer going on. And upon entering the combatant ships were already miiiiiiiiiiles away from the starting points. So the whole "it's raining gankers" feeling might not be entirely correct. I'd say that during the normal 2 to 5 minutes there is a strong valid chance of a mosh pit but over than the fight is already evolving away from spawns. What I can see happening is a battle with several engagements going on as people arrive at the scene in 5 minute intervals. The Paint is a good thing. Had the pleasure of recording the Trincomalee with the new color scheme and surely looks sexy. Despite the "how to get it" it is more important to me that the devs got the system working. It is awesome. We all will have access to it down the line, take it easy, it is the age of sail and sometimes the wind is not blowing where we want. I do Pray regularly and try all kind of goofy situations to see if it has any effect and by the beard of the barnacle on the poop deck timbers, I swear I did see a Mermaid after praying... once So, use it or don't. Your choice. It is no magic button with magic properties and won't give you super powers.... ( or maybe it does ! ) The new cargo holds are okay now as they were absurdly inflated. I should complain about this because of trade raid ( means less loot ) but no, I rather see a realistic and credible approach to the whole cargo system and force planning into the gameplay. Politics. Okay. Looks great for a timid introduction. Eager to see the results. There's a lot more but overall very pleased with it. Still on the #nofleets side of the fence but it is, by no means a game breaker int the grand scheme of things, It is annoying though that the Fleets add their BR. Please do balance it out. Player BR counts, npc fleet no.
