  1. We saw a battle yesterday. Something was odd as we took our time to approach but it never closed and we came around a cape and it was already there. Decided to investigate, given the BR of the 1v1 was more than decidedly on favour of the RN. Happened to be a Essex captain which opened fire on us Privateers, two of us, and proceeded to request the Admiralty the help of a Heavy Frigate. Obviously we didn't stay around and nobody won the battle. That's the silly extreme of social. It will bounce back to an arms race all the time instead of focusing of the learning curve.
  2. Mind you I am not taking sides, I am a very social player. I simply look at the mechanics as they are and how they related to both social and not so social players. Red = enemy. Votes take care of that. So no point in going paranoid that councils make sure that people voted blah blah blah or else this will never end
  3. Well, the game Diplomatic system was indeed introduced because the majority of players are, for sure, ignorant of most of the forum/TS meta-diplomacy. In this simple truth none of us can deny it. Votes decide which nations are red and which ones will be green. Red can be attacked. End..
  4. Sweetspot between playability and historical credibility is what is aimed for I think. Maybe some of the waits posted are more player related than anything else, given most are war planning and others are "I want it now". Mind you, no depreciative tone, but it is a way of looking at things. I for one would like a complete revamp of the LH and get rid of them but turning to more realistic shipwrights system. As it is a good group of crafters can pump ships fast on a regular basis making up for losses very easy.
  5. By all means, dump your cargo if it makes you feel better. One thing is for sure, it is not about the loot itself, it is about having fun with a specific "trade raider" playstyle What I would like to see implemented is two fold: - Option to return ship to owner in the Battle Screen, in the right click menu alongside the Sink option. - some sort of Trade option in the Battle Screen, as this would help to share loot between a group of raiders
  6. Never enough Naval Action how-to videos. Good share.
  7. True. Not implying that would be a artificial limit to XXIst century comms in a age of sail representation with or without TS it would matter little until you'd be in engagement
  8. Had both situations so far. Wonder if I fall for a third time... ( for sure ). But to go back to the suggestion, why not ? Too realistic is not an excuse. If anything a number of ships involved with no BR shown.

  9. ... why ?... that's...nothing... ! Being a sandbox nature, where the gameplay style is decided by the player, you can't simply make up a mechanic that alienates everything else on deteriment of one specific, in this case warships versus traders. Remove fleets pronto.
  10. See nothing wrong with it. Ther can only be 1 enemy and 1 ally at this stage. France and Danemark aliance votes were superior for sure. I know what I voted for and damn me to the locker if I used any aliance votes at all bah. The crew simply voted where to go loot next
  11. 50 might be a bit over the reduced proceedings of the late season, given more time was spent with mermaid than actual chasing of loot but can be arranged at a exchange of patterns. Pretty sure a good frigate class pattern is worth 3 schooner patterns.
  12. What if battle markers do not show the amount of ships and BR ?

  13. Actually looks very nice. I did not dislike the original ocre though. If anyone comes across some Privateer, Pickle and Lynx patterns please post them asap... please
  14. Makes sense. Having the option to switch between both.
  15. I am totally shocked at the amount of -why do you do this to me- complaints and especially calling rubbish to give aways of an event. Thanks to all that share the pics and the fine details.
  16. I think the pursuit, the boarding and the looting of yer valuables takes more hard work than a couple clicks ( sorry for the OT was just to please Wilson )
  17. No trouble As I won't be around to check I was eager for some... show. But... anything to point out regarding wind strengths !?
  18. No. Everything that moves away from the simulation feeling moves many of us further away from NA. Already too much going on detracting from the pure form of ship handling and OW tactics. One of the best things in Naval Action is the learning process, the social exchange of information. Try and test all ships. Stay in battle after it is over, make goofy attempts, even in straight sailing manual positioning sometimes is better than auto
  19. Oh...misread Nukenin remark I think.
  20. Dear Santa, let me tick PvE everytime I go out in my trader and a PvE tick everytime I need to take a warship somewhere, oh and a PvE tick everytime I need to escape a warzone.
  21. SCREEONSHOTS !!! c'mon guys, wanna see those hellish weather conditions
