  1. Please read the following thread posted a while ago, especially the part that refers smugglers mechanic.
  2. Feedback on NPC presence is always welcome I am sure. Takes a bit of time to sail the whole map but can provide good results. Example being there are areas where NPC presence is null... for 2 consecutive days, and region next to it is populated normally. The same way, verifying time to travel and scale of regions versus NPC numbers presence is beneficial. But I go a bit off topic here , this is material for another thread entirely.
  3. Maybe I understood wrong but weren't the 25 dragged into combat versus 25 and the rest got left behind ? I'd say the 25 that were dragged, unless totally random, might be selected by the system by "similar" BR versus enemy or simply by distance to tag circle ( small one ).
  4. I'd say it is BR 1st and distance second.
  5. Absolutely. Would love to see a formal document about the agreements and treaties
  6. Here I am, thinking why is this on national news.
  7. I think the 1 dura and the new rewards system ( check testbed notes ) do complement each other perfectly in paper.
  8. I would like this too. Just for the sake of... completeness...
  9. Two posts hidden. Stick to the Announcement discussion. Rules are clear.
  10. Seemingly you didn't pay attention to the Development announcements. This is the fifth(?) time a wipe has happened. It is necessary to do so as to deploy all the new mechanics. Announcement of the wipe has a lot of notes already opening the blinds to the new crafting as announced also previously. During testing/development phase access it is accepted by all that "disruption of service" and "loss of assets" will be a reality. A waste of what ? Hobby time ?
  11. Exit to nearest outpost aye.
  12. Yes, hope it gets populated. For me though is too early, still driving home after office
  13. I wish people to go out during the next 30 days and blaze away their duras in fights, wherever, whatever odds.
  14. Read: Upgrades Upgrades/refits are no longer craftable. Upgrades/refits lose the quality level and no longer can be lost. Upgrades/refits finally have size requirements. (large pumps can only be installed on large ships) Upgrades/refits can be received in the admiralty and/or as loot items Upgrades/refits are basically turned into ship skills Example: If you have Spanish Silk Sail and a Naked angel figurehead - you won't ever lose them if you lost your ship
  15. Learning all ships will also give an edge as you will know what each is capable of and therefore a valuable aid when fighting them.
  16. I already have mine since long ago, courtesy of @pietjenoob Harmless Heth, so there you go My basic idea is something that can't be grinded and can be lost and can be awarded by doing what one likes the most, from PBs to simple trade.
  17. Well constructed, non offensive, propaganda is a plus to the "lore" of Naval Action. No one has the right to point fingers or throw rocks if Jeheil sir keeps his cool providing appropriate National News content. The more chroniclers the better. Just don't fall into mundane gutter talk.
  18. A system of rewards that could be thought of is that of Titles. A captain shall be awarded titles according to feats on his area of expertise and if meaningful to National hero status - Surcouf's Légion d'Honneur as an example. Pertaining time and rewards being brought up by players this could be explored and developed further as an idea or scrapped So Navy and Maritime awards could be devised so to reward all playstyles, from trader/smuggler, ship architect and post navy officers / sea rovers. It would obey certain rules, as awards usually do in military and civilian instances. - Title to be granted to the Captain and fixed to the ship be used when achieving such honor. - Title shall be optionally displayed as extra information in the OW box and in overhead UI in battle when Captain is commanding the same ship as was when honours were won. - Title also awards a special and easily identifiable Ensign to be hoisted atop the masts ( if possible ) - Title is lost if durability of entitled ship is lost. - Titles cannot be captured or transferred. ( example, by trading or giving the ship ) Examples: - "Hero of Pampatar" - As a ship in the line of battle in the Port conquest for the port. First to board an enemy vessel. Must board three enemy vessels and survive. - "Bay Area King" - Smuggler extraordinaire of mahogany from Honduras. Must smuggle out ( pertains use of smuggler flag ) said wood, consistently, from region at Honduras back to Capital region and sell in the shop ( no contracts ). ______________ captains & ships ________________ My point regarding that is that ships names had, in many point in history, as much, or more, reputation than the captains. - Indefatigable - Revenge - Clarisse, Confiance - Constitution - etc But is is also captains can have several Awards to different ships now looking to a more game situation. It can be expanded to cover the non-captain too, something like Naval Architect Extraordinaire for a crafter. ________ unexpected / easter eggs _______________ They shouldn't be lists but dynamically awarded, unexpected, like a fantastic reward and "impossible" to pursue/farm given we can't known which titles there are ( if possible within the code )
  19. Is this going to be organized for BOTH servers ?
  20. Suggestions regarding the same subject have been merged. Please use the SEARCH function and keep suggestions focused, instead of making a lot of different threads, to make for easy access by developers.

  22. Sure, will see it. Not a great fan of ghost supernatural stuff in pirates, so old flicks and way more recent Pirates ( polanski's ) and Cutthroat Island still are cool to remember now and then. Pirates being surprisingly good and with a lot of true events ( in separate occasions, places and figures ) and glued together in a nice narrative. I'll stick with Anne, first POTC was more close to classic than the latter ones. By the way, what/whom is the spanish captain character supposed to be? ( still hoping for a Revolution or 1812 privateers historical movie or a Surcouf remake to rival damn M&C )
  23. I support that one, both control and signaling as mechanics. Think I even suggested it before somewhere. Control is good at 750m as it retains the closure rate.
  24. Can't really tell the full timer of the Signaling at the moment but it takes a fair bit of time to close. I would add 5 minutes on top of it because it really feels good. Had both ends of the stick, being helped and having prey being helped, all in due time and with good order - meaning without being so late in the battle that all that the late comers enter to do is to watch the end of the battle. Average combat time is less than 25 minutes. 40 minutes is simply, on average, equal to all the time open
