naval no action
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to R3volv3R's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Willingly or unwillingly ? Would be a interesting statistic to know, but to what end would that information be useful ?! To prove a point ? Devs have it. Do we need it ? -
naval no action

You are correct in the sense they are difficult to craft. Reducing their Marks requisites ( even non tradeable as I suggested ) would make sure that someone will get the BP Permits and then give the BP and Permit to the Shipyard player account. As suggested also in the suggestions board, the breakdown of captured ships ( we may only capture player ships and everything is 1 dura ) should yield way more usable parts, carriages and rigging cables for sure, some planks certainly, etc. Would also help. Sometimes a touch here and there helps the whole, instead of having to tweak one single thing. -

let me think.... ... *smoke* ok... here goes nothing Pensions should not exist. PvP marks should not be tradeable. PB Kills should emulate OW PvP kills. Conquest Marks should be awarded by PB kills. CMs should not be tradeable. SOLs crafting should work as now but half price in CMs. Captains need to spend PvP/PvE marks ( corresponding scales ) to be elligigle to even use a SOL model. Pay once forever for that model. ( you know collingwood wasn't given the command of one for being a fluffy kitten ). It becomes usable for OW duty. on the RvR no hostility points or pvp marks ? no pb. Sorry. no pvp marks / CM to buy defense pb slot ? no pb. Sorry. -
Your plans are yours alone. 3 hours is 1 hour more than I usually spend playing the game and I do have great fun doing what I like in the sandbox age of sail. Some activities are more time demanding. I usually do those once a week or so. Like bringing new ships and cannons and repairs to frontline outposts or behind enemy lines outposts. I know that specific day i'll simply be hauling ( and might be intercepted ). The rest of the days is simply ... war.

Need to plan your OW cruises according to your own time schedule.

random fire
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to LaRue's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Because then I can use it and you don't have to use it ( as long as it is away from the brace key ! ) As per manuals the stagger fire of batteries ( divisions ) is the random. There's no simultaneous fire anywhere. Also Maturin already posted something about the timing of the broadside.- 55 replies

The tree that folk posted a while ago showed that the Brig is followed by the snow ? The other line goes from the privateer directly to mercury and then up.

random fire

Put it in a different shortcut, not in the front/rear fire cycle key. That way don't have to use it if you don't want Cool beans- 55 replies

Maybe War against neighboring Nations is also a option ? There could be opportunities to engage in PvP more often. Politics and Logistics and naval power and privateer deployment go hand in hand in NA to be honest. Every "pact" that is established by elected councils reduces the chance for PvP. Imagine the horror of being at peace with half the nations... ( oh yeah, we had it a while ago, wasn't pretty )

How i feel about making money

gotcha. That's half the map sailing with a full ship I did my 6 runs with hemp by the way. Absolutely no chance the port would be clean. -

Why 4 hours ? For maximum profit I guess Maybe half an hour runs with less profit margin work as well ? I know I did it on a emergency case. 6 runs in an hour, profit margin of 15% but did the job. I could've done a 2 hour round trip and IIRC the profit margin would be something like 40% but the time spent would be too much. -

Economy can be worked by other means. No need to return non-sailing mechanics. One of them would be to allow the breakdown of captured ships for a credible amount of materials. Technically would make prized ships have a certain market value and prize being paid by shipbuilders for parts. Think about it, we can use the fleet hold now, the amount of goods being transported did, theoretically, increase 4 times. That's four times less sailing than before, if you are willing to take the risk. -
With the 1 durability system in place this can be reviewed indeed and would promote just another venue of dealing with captures ( or even promote captures more ). What would not be possible IMO would be to buy ships from NPC shop to break ( but prices seem perfect for that if they stay as it is now ). +1

Random has good uses. If it is provoking problems to a big chunk of the players just tie it to another shortcut key, but don't remove it please.- 55 replies

Yes. Did KS the digital boardgame.

Yes. Likewise MWOL was supposed to have a world meta game even if only with sectors. But why try to make something challenging and complicated that requires a bit of learning from the player side when flashy thunder boomshakalaka sells outright, right ?
