Damn, what a great read. Could picture the entire scene in vivid colours like looking at naval action museum pieces. Now, as I see it and maybe totally off here, the less nimble and more powerful guns should do best keeping centered with the wind perfectly on yer back and turning to beams whenever needed. Will bleed speed when needed with yards usage, will keep enough reserve wind to make the stern angle turns, will open up rolling from the back on opponent over takes.

5 months of intensive work. Porting it will not be a piece of cake and we expect new awesome bugs for sure Okay, 3 things: - player Rank matters. Responsibility while gaining rank. Missions after rank 4 are always always always in other national regions other than capital region. - remove modules/equipment/upgrades as stand-alone cards. Implement them into the crafting system so they can be acquired in the Admiralty/Pirate Den and be installed as a option when the ship is crafted. No more "sport billy" bags of magic. - heavily reduce the bonuses ( e.g. from 10% to 2% ). That way the stackings of different natures will be really meaningful. ( see previous point, everything is crafted into the ship )

Bring back pvp event areas
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Trinidad was not as good as Haiti but still was another good event with PvP now and then running up to the PB yesterday. Maybe, just maybe some players actually do engage in PvP while many others just rely heavily on PvE to unlock the PB PvP ( their favourite mode ) In any case, conquest points for PB done with PvP largely surpass anything that PvE can do. By thousand points minimum. -

Demasting
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Jean Pual Vilvenue's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Correct. A Constitution mizzen mast falls and suddenly everyone looks to the little snow in disbelief. -
There is no per~player~custom rule. The rule affects all equally. A merciful captain might make good use of the rule. A powergamer won-t.

Engine looking at cannons/carronades in individual divisions ( X guns per lieutenant ) instead of a unified battery, to calculate the dispersions, moment of fire, heel during the discharge of a rolling broadside, etc should promote a more proper period cannonade effect ( especially with the rolling ) and maybe allow less guns per ship if needed. Need to testbed this. Please.

target rich environment

We might have more class. Yachts it is.

Yes it is. Possible. Clear plan of what it is. Clear message to what it may be inside the game. Clear rulebook. Spectacularly enough the Devs give exactly the two types of gameplay. Safe versus environment only and totally unsafe where player interaction will happen, whether we want it or not. Make your choice in earnest and do avoid to crowbar to fit what you want and accept what you chose. --- There is a huge gap between the half that plays the game as intended and the ones that like to break the playfield. Hence making developers task hard and funneling development towards changes that might not agree to everyone. Pointing a lot of fingers and smashing glass roofs.

Limited Battle Timer is Anti-PvP
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Tenet's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Actually wasn't. Both the Agamemnon and Indefatigable, if the Farrago story is the same situation, were simply anchored somewhere west towards Cumana. Was way after the Victory situation Teutonic presents. We were moving west out of the straits with no idea they were there and we caught them pants down, anchored... after their main fleet was going North. The superior seamanship was simply separation and running fight ( that aggy was fast man, well done ). We called it off because bigger fish to fry. They were not revenged after they exited. They couldn't be helped by their own main fleet which was actually also in battle more to the north. The entire debacle brought up by Farrago actually shows what various squadrons can do. A group either sticks together or will get destroyed in detail. Longer join timers ? No please. -
Logoff after Battle
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Big fleets are not PB only. RvR is not PB only. Suddenly there's timers everywhere for everything. Sir, I shall accept your proposal. Let me go back to the times where I was untouchable I liked it. Go in, sink, steal, burn and phase out back into port, logoff, whatever without a care in the world. -
Logoff after Battle
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
If it means no more loopholes to place whole invisible fleets in home territory ready to materialize out of the warp then yes. Mechanic must work blind with all situations, not only our specific. And tbh it hurts more having full RvR fleets hiding than a raider being revenged... IMO Has to be another way. -

Logoff after Battle
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
You know those sci-fi movies where the entire armada comes out of the warp near Earth or other important place ? That is what will happen with that loophole and we seen it before. Remember that mechanics are blind. They work equal for ALL players in ALL situations. There's no distinction between a 1v1 or a 25v25.
