As one of the guys running the screening, I would estimate around 70, maybe just under US players on. While you did manage to kill a bunch of trash screening ships, I wouldn't call your tactics/choices leading up to the battle particularly stellar. In fact they were awful. Some of you logging out at sea prior despite being spotted and then hiding a fleet in battle within visible range......yikes.

I'd like to go to the patrol zones in the evenings and have a couple decent fights, but I don't feel like fighting in 2nd or 1st rates. WO/Blanc COULD roll out in frigates with their numbers and dominate, but they don't. Like I said previous, they don't want GOOD fights, just ones they can win easily for marks and forum screenshots. They've effectively ruined the patrol zones in the evenings now. And yes LoneWolf, the patrol zones are a similar story during the daytime with the Swedes, Russians and Prussians rolling out in big ships. The difference is that the population is typically 3x higher than the evening ones and more than 1 nation is capable of doing it. The only good fights Kingy has posted of the patrol zones have been against daytime crews. Get my point? Lets take you for example LoneWolf. By the time you joined France they were already the dominant evening power on the server. You joined them anyway....for the challenge I guess. You could of rejoined your pirate buddies or some of the other nations that need players. Nope, you and queen just wanted easy marks because ALT farming gets reported now. The evening French crew zergs it up, rolls out in big ships and destroys the competition. Then cries on the forums when they get bored. And jesus wept.

Yep had to call in the EVE players and the old timers, but VCO (and others) had a good showing last night. @Louis Garneray given the amount of times Kingy has said he was gonna quit or NOT do something only to have him come back anyway, I highly doubt that'll be the last time we see you guys trying to run up a PB. For a man of the cloth he's surprisingly ambivalent about sticking to his guns on certain things. See ya soon!

Perhaps the screenshot didn't grab it, but I like how only our guys are saying GG/GF in the battle. Kinda sums up what it's like fighting Kingy and his merry men.

Excellent turn out from the US side. @King of Crowns efforts are always appreciated, thanks for activating another port for VMs. Kingy was channeling his inner Russian last night. Scouting with a US alt, logging off one of his fleets and hiding a fleet in a battle outside the port. Someone might want to tell him those tactics don’t work anymore. Was good fun and a fair number of frenchies didn’t make it home last night. One of my characters managed to take a slice out of pipo’s ocean and get some marks out of it.

New hostility changes made the missions a minor inconvenience to an annoyance. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze anymore. Especially now that your reward for the port is a 600k a day bill if you want to keep it.

Recalling the conversation further I think you said that RSC and whomever was going to handle Navasse because the CKA/Cordova night crew are idiots. While true, it does suggest a bit more involvement on your part rather than just asking for help. Especially since Cordova already talked to me about it. But whatever you say bud. Laugh

Stop pretending you’re pissed about losing some trash ports to multiflipping. Half your current crew PM’d me in the forums thanking me for solving your little timer crutch. True story. You want easy targets because you can’t beat Prussia, Swedes or France. I don’t mind losing ports, but let’s be honest about why.

I believe both France and Prussia started fights with the US by attacking their coast a couple months ago. Unprovoked. So there’s that. We’ll own attacking GB. But let’s stop pretending that the ports you own on the east coast weren’t gotten because of midday timer hello kitty ups by incompetent clans. But I mean if you 3 want to all go after the last place team at once, be my guest. Take all our ports. At some point you’ll get tired of paying for them and our evening timers and we can just mosey back in and retake them. I find it curious that instead of attacking Prussia, who took your money port down in the Bahamas you choose to go after useless US ports because their easier. Seems like we’re the hot new place to find PVP, but I think now we’re gonna stop giving people content. Enjoy the timer costs. At least WO was smart enough to go after a port that pays for itself.

Are you gonna make a complaint thread every night btw? Instead of ignoring all the comments in that post because it didn't turn out the way you wanted, perhaps learn from them and realize why no one wants to fight you. Or don't. We'll keep on kiting.

You don't HAVE to do hostility in 1st rates now, but you choose to. So don't and come chase us in 5th rates. I mean you only have 12 1st rates out there. Do you expect the US to really counter that? Any further ports that you attack we will continue our stalling and delaying tactics to protect the US coast line with fast, cheap and replaceable ships. Don't like it, go elsewhere. It's a free map after all.

Meh they'll just take the lazy approach and let people craft them from the safety of their capitals. No point really unless it makes owning ports worth it again.

jajajajajaja, as they say in Spain. Just like all those times you fought RUBLI on the coast.... Prussian involvement for the Brits was expected. Just like you guys can always be guaranteed upon to help out WO. Thus proving my aforementioned point. We asked Spain to come get some PVP marks. We were right.

thanks for cleaning up our coast amigo. Those pesky prussians keep saying they'll PVP anyone and everyone, but all they seem able to do is help people fight americans up on the US coast. First it was RUBLI, then it was WO....now it's screening for the brits. All these self proclaimed "elite of the elite" don't actually seem to fight each other and would rather team up to seal club. very curious

Surefire ways to fix RVR (and the game) - Get rid of the marks system. PVP and VM. Bring back chest rewards for PBs and being on the leader board. Introduce a quest or something where you can kill 1, 2, 3...whatever players a day and you receive a chest with paints and cool stuff. To curtail farming you change combat news to include the attacker and the victim. Crafting regions. More ports the produce desirable goods. Restrict crafting inside safe zones and force players to craft outside of them. Make ports matter again. Other than a handful of ports that pay for themselves, the vast majority of them don't. Removal of nations. 11 nations - 650 MAX players on at 1 time to fill them. Do the math. Use nations as a backdrop, not a deciding factor in RVR. Move to a clan based system where clans own the ports and ACCESS to the ports. Introduce clan alliances (limited of course). Clans who want to own ports and RVR need to accept the same rules that impossible nations currently face. Lose all your ports? back to KPR you go. Introduce a reputation system where players can attack others within their nation. Kill enough and you're an outlaw limited to free towns and clan owned ports. Remove these ridiculous repair, thickness and pen metas and just go back to simple cheap to make and lose ships with cheap mods. Remove patrol zones and make players fight on the OW again.

I remember at the start of the global experiment kingy fought the pirates at first, which gave him a decent amount of competition. He then cut a deal so he didn’t have to fight them and then chose to mercilessly gank Brit and Dutch noobs down south. New player in a tbrig? Doesn’t matter. Over and over he farmed down by great corn and actually caused several clans to quit the game and/or move over to Denmark... where he proceeded to hunt them again. Some of those AUSEZ guys ended up just saying screw it and went to the PVE server. I remember telling him and Rab that if you over fish you will.....run out of fish. And he did and then went into hibernation. Queue a month or 2 later when VCO goes pirate. He rallys every other nation but Pirates and a dead Denmark against us. Zergs the OW with superior numbers and then complained when no one would fight him. After about 7 or 8 losses including a couple multi flips with his coalition of nations he finally wins a fully contested PB. Gracious in victory? Nah. Shit taking and gloating. He’s had similar tactics and patterns of behavior now that everyone is back on one server again. Zergs it up at night with overwhelming numbers claiming he wants fair PVP. Refuses to change his timers or attacks EU ports out of fear during the weekends. He kills and out numbers the competition and then shit talks you for coming out. Then wonders...”why won’t anyone fight me?”

Pretty much this. You very seldom fight when the BR is close or not in your favor. I remember one fight in Swedeland where it was a 4 on 4 of sorts and you guys ran and got out of the battle and to our surprise we found 3x our BR sitting outside waiting for us. You don’t want fair fights or even good fights. You just want someone to be your punching bag for your evening zerg of players. And yes, you are the nighttime zerg. You know you outnumber most people in the evening patrol zones but you still roll out in big ships just to dominate. Why should people oblige you? Fighting KoC and his band of merry men is just not enjoyable. You shit talk your opponents, make snide comments and when you win you berate the shit out of them in global. When you do lose fights you refuse to GG and blame everyone under the sun for your loss or continue to shit talk the other side because they didn’t fight you how you wanted. See Hat Island. From my perspective I’ve found you to be a terribly unkind and bigoted player that I take zero enjoyment in fighting. I would rather lose ports than show up to provide you content. Your behavior in game directly translates into why you have no content. Time for you to move WO and breakup that Zerg. Or just keep whining on here like a fool.

When Russia took Carta, virtually nothing changed in the aspect of getting the caulking refit. Prices still remained high and everyone and their brother just made a russian alt to get the stuff instead of a swede alt. Other than the money, owning the port didn't actually improve our chances of attaining to the good. Kinda stupid IMO. Clans should be able to allow who can access their ports AND who can set contracts. There is virtually zero benefit for a clan to own about 90% of the ports in the game, only costs. Whereas john Q. midshipmen can just sail into a nation owned port at someone else's expense. I would even go so far as clans/players that do not own the port have to pay a "docking fee" if the port owners so wish.

Problem is this isn’t an arcade style game. Mixing the two won’t work. Even the patrol zones diminish OW PvP. Unless you’re on the east coast of course. People like to hunt, grief and gank their way across the Caribbean like a true full loot mmo. As far as legends goes, I don’t think the combat is fast paced enough to make that style of game viable within the NA world. I just sailed around in cutters and brigs till I said screw it and logged off.

All I know is I played legends briefly and was bored of the same fights over and over. The beauty of this game has and always will be in the hunt and the chase. Legends cannot replicate that. The patrol zones also diminish this
