Had a good scrape outside Corrientes as the brits tried to generate hostility. The crack VCO fleet scrambled and kept them busy while Spanish reinforcements showed up to bring the beef. Was interesting jostling 2 teamspeaks and 3 languages, but it was fun. Lot's of tears, explosions and VCO's bloodfued against the ever elusive, rarely seen Capt Hardy on the OW has finally sated since the days of global. GF Spain and Brits. Fireship kudos go out to Smoggy for getting rage with it. The aftermath

This isn't about brit vs spain or whatever drama certain people keep trying to drag this into. IF you hold a lot of ports, expect to be attacked at multiple ports every day. Just the facts. Spain has traditionally held an absurd amount of ports relative to what they have been able to defend, so has GB. Hold a lot of territory, expect others to want to constantly take pieces out of it. It sounds like this post is defenders who would like to move on to other things and not defend a port every other day. The cooldown is too short. If spain held little cayman and was constantly being attacked every other day I'm sure they'd feel the same way. I mean the defenders on a weds won't even get a victory mark the next week for their efforts because the same port can be attacked 2x more. It's stupid.

This isn’t less content. There are 200+ ports in the game. Go attack one of them while others are on cool down. Personally I don’t think defenders should have to defend the same port 5x a week. You attack, you lose...you wait. Want more content? Hit the enemy elsewhere. Not many folks have experienced repeatedly having to defend a port 3/4 times a week. I know back when Russia held Carta we were defending it so many times every week it simply just got exhausting. I think between Sweden and Russia losing so many ships we actually couldn’t get the wood fast enough from contacts. It was stupid Being able to generate hostility a mere 24 hours later is absurd.

Yea time needs to be increased after successful and unsuccessful battles. IRL it would be months between campaigns. I’d say 5 days for unsuccessful battles and 7 day cd for taken ports.

Any thoughts on how these will interact with the safe zone? Up to a certain rank missions should absolutely spawn in the zones, but RA fleets? Maybe an option for players to intentionally pick missions outside of safe zones for increased rewards/XP? Delivery missions coming back makes me hopeful of more content for your casual player. They need to be done correctly though and need to be made WORTH doing.

This delivery conversation reminds me of another bone to pick that I have with NA. One of the inherent problems with this game is a player can do EVERYTHING inside of it. There are no real roles for folks to play. I can throw up a workshop or a shipyard and now with the admiralty connections I can have enough buildings to pretty much my own shipline. If I want to haul stuff...well I just change perks and off I go with 3 indiamen. While this sounds great on paper it leaves this game feeling a little empty and at least in my opinion, a little without purpose. If a player can simply do everything one on character...what use do they have for other people. Which is probably why there are so many small clans out there. In the span of an hour I can go fight a PB, get back to base and haul enough resources to replace a lost 1st rate. Easily. Maybe it shouldn't be that way. Most MMO games have specializations or skill trees. I know in warcraft you could only have 2 professions. Albion the difficulty of the trees only really allowed you to focus on 1 or 2 types of crafting. The lack of being able to craft or do everything on your own created roles for players in game and a need to interact and rely on them. Cough...player economy...cough.. Maybe we need to have clearly defined roles in this game in the form of skill trees or something of that sort. Traders/Merchant people being of these roles. Crafter/shipwright. Man of War path. Something along these lines. -

I’d rather have a system where player x puts up a delivery contract to transport goods to a port. Player y picks up that contract and sails there, collects rewards. Once the delivery contract is created whatever items that person wanted shipped becomes “cargo” and then player y picks up the cargo without knowing it’s contents (to keep people honest) and delivers it to the desired port where it gets converted back to resources by player x. -

I sink Spain as well. Haven't had the opportunity to run into many Russians lately. I'm pulling a sruPL and saying I have no allies.

Personally I think the change allowing shallow water ships (other than MBs) into deep port battles was a foolish one. Allowing DLC ships into any port battle is even more foolish.- 80 replies

While I would of preferred to have a fight, it's pretty f'n hot outside and I was glad to get back into the pool. I feel like the prussians have been involved in enough PB screenings NOT against their nation and spain owed them one. Just take a look a couple posts up at the PBs against France vs Russia. Oh well.
