  1. Had a US Captain in an Idy join the Cumana PB and then leave immediately. Pirat165 This character has been seen spotted before doing similar things in a PB. Our guys think it was Les Cayes if anyone has a SS of it. If the mods could please look into who this character is and maybe been trading with, it'd be nice to shut this bullshit down once and for all. It's obvious some Joe Schmoe new player didn't sail 4 hours from the US starting area just to join a PB and leave immediately..... Luckily the trickery didn't have any effect and we won. If you're gonna pull shenanigans to get an edge in a PB you should at least win it.
  2. Now now LV, it wasn't too long ago you were singing our praises and sharing in the fun of our evening campaigns. Funny you didn't call them cheap victories when you were posting stuff like this..... Our coalition managed to hold it's own yesterday, without your esteemed leadership. I'm not too worried. Oddly enough our only recent "failure" just happened to be yours. Good luck in retirement. There's a couple good battle videos posted on here if you want to take notes on how to not throw battles.
  3. Ays PB - Command View
  4. Morgan's Bluff PB - Command View
  5. One could also say this is what happens when you have one large dominant clan within a nation that puts in the majority of the work defending said nation and the majority of the smaller clans and pubbie players are jealous of this clan and do their best to disrupt it's activities, harass it's leaders and in general do everything they can do get that clan out of the nation. That clan decides to grant the wish of the nation and leaves because they are tired of the disrespect, but now the very same people who wanted that clan gone are now blaming it for leaving. Curious how that happens.
  6. Was an OK fight, some of our regulars decided to no show and going in 3 short was perhaps not the best idea....but we wanted a fight. I was even dual boxing another character in there to try and help out. BTW the fella I managed to board and take an aggie from was using a planking/brit refit one. Might want to get on his case for not using a stronghull.
  7. Now LV, you were proven to be wrong on the alliance discord. So to set the record clear here......... Please note the time left in the port battle as they tell the whole story. You had 2 ships sunk or boarded well before amplify went in and boarded the ship on fire. Dropping you from 978 to 898. Which with only 1 circle in possession effectively lost you the fight. As seen in the picture 1. This is at 1:04. Amplify then finished his attempt to board the other ship, which was on fire and successfully capped the ship giving you guys points. Amplify's capping of that ship WOULD of finished the battle for you had you of not lost the 2 ships PRIOR to them sinking/blowing up. Amplify made the correct call, unfortunately the timing did not work. Picture 2 is amplify capping the ship. This third SS is the time when his capped ship blew up and disabled 3 of you. If you notice in this picture it does look like you are blocking him from returning to the vessel and putting on crew, but I can't be 100% sure. In conclusion the battle was 100% lost when the 2 ships were capped reducing you from 978 to 898. The battle was however lost well before that point when 2 circles were lost and your gamble and ONLY hope of winning was to sink 1 more ship. Your childish behaviour on discord today was unacceptable and you owe amplify an apology. Your battle was lost well before amp's boarded ship blew you up and the blame must sit with the fleet commander. You. Mods, please leave this up for a little time to perhaps keep some egos in check.
  8. pretty sure I forgot to hit tab most of the fight...... Was in map view a fair bit there. Good fight Swedes/Allies
  9. The US nation pledges it's support.
  10. THIS WALL AROUND GAME LABS FORUMS IS GONNA BE YUUUUGEE!. IT'LL BE THE BEST WALL. IT'LL BE BEAUTIFUL!!
  11. With coms and a little big of lag towards the end.
  12. This game is a bit more complex than hitting pixelated blocks with a pickaxe.
  13. As a new player back at the start of the summer, I found this game very difficult to learn. The UI is and still isn't user friendly. It was only through player made content like Olav or Jeheils videos that I was able to learn a few things. As a PC gamer since the days of floppy disks, I don't think I've encountered a game with quite as much of a learning curve as this one. I've also been a Blizzard friends and family beta tester for about 10 years now, so I know my way around new games. I believe you mentioned Admin that the problem is getting new players out of brigs. A tutorial would help you towards that goal. Don't have the budget? Go pay someone like Jeheil or Olav 200 bucks to make a video tutorial (or series) officially sanctioned by game labs and make sure every new player has the option to view it.
  14. Because the players are continually disappointed with the patch content. Devs don't fix the serious problems with the game, but fix minor ones like 3 dura first rates. If you look after EVERY single content patch the player bases spikes higher and then loses more and more steam. How to fix the issue? Fix the problems with OW. huge circles. player AI fleets. OW AI fleets. BR rules no one seems to understand. Merge the servers.
  15. did you not read my bold comments in the quoted text?
  16. I get Devs intentions I suppose, but none of these things really address the current issues plaguing the game. I expect numbers will continue to dwindle after this patch.
  17. ok best buddy.
  18. Having been to just about every recent US port battle and even more than that with Brits/Dutch I'd say this is not an accurate assessment of the US. In fact I've seen more chatter and question of orders elsewhere. If you'd of been in a battle recently you'd of noticed we're miles ahead of where we were 6 months ago. Where we do fall short is unity and participation amongst the clans. There is far too much egotism and hurt feelings that get in the way of "America First". Other nations seem to put aside their bullshit to keep PB fleets together and give a shit about national objectives.

  19. BUT BUT BUT THE US NEVER WIN 25V25 1ST RATE BATTLE IN THEIR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Historically Brigs were mostly used as whalers.
  21. Been thinking lately about how much I dislike the current system, regional trims and their importance on the map. I didn't really like the fine wood system either, but it seems now we're as much of a slave to the fine woods as we are to compass wood. Seems like not much has changed. I'd like to propose a new system that I've been brewing on for a while. Apologize in advance if I pulled a Melania Trump and borrow some ideas from people, not sure if these are honestly my own or stuff I've seen proposed over the months. Total Removal of Regional Crafting Areas - Remove region bonuses and turn them into region-specific materials. - Crafting can now be done in any port, as long as materials are there. - An example of region specific mats. Strong Hull Bonus - requires "Southern Live Oak". "Southern Live Oak" can be found in various ports from Savannah to the Texas areas, making it more historically accurate. Strong Rigging Bonus - requires "Habana Hemp". Found in of course multiple regions near the Habana area. You guys get the right idea. - Capital ports in that region will start selling limited quantities of resources connected throughout the empire. If you have one of the 7 or 8 southern live oak regions will start appearing in your capital via AI traders. Of course setting up farms or plantations will yield the best results. Crafting Contracts - Player Contracts for various ships can now be placed in capitals or free ports. Example - Place a contract for an Exceptional Stong Hull Live Oak Build Strength Connie. This contact is visible in all "allied" ports and to fulfill a Connie need to be sailed teleported in. Contract fulfilled, crafter earns money and maybe some XP. Contracts can be placed for various ships and Mods. Contracts are visible on some sort of bulletin system seen in every port within the alliance or free port. - AI Ship Contracts. The AI will place various contracts for the green ships that you typically purchase at random in various ports. Players fulfill contracts and replenish the stock of ships getting money and additional XP. Not all ships will be player constructed, but to replenish supplies quicker than say once a week ships will need to be made. Player accepts the contract, has x amount of days to deliver and sails or tows in ship. Cannons & Sails - Introduce some sort of cannon specialties. IE flintlocks, touchhole fire, sighted cannons...you get the idea. Introduce some sort of cannon specialization to the officer perks and cannons made this way are more powerful or more accurate, but maybe very expensive. - Similar idea with the sails. Introduce player crafted sails that have more downforce or whatever. More durability. Use an officer perk to give specialties. Permanent Crafting Officer - Get rid of the officer for crafting related duties. Some something similar but call it a foreman or shipwright. Crafter must choose whether or not to make frigates, line ships, traders AND/OR specialize in cannons, sails, mods. You get the idea. Officer is then permanent and can only be replaced via crafting XP or something similar. You have to craft x amount of frigates to reach frigate specialization and once that is reached you can build region build trims. Something like that. Just some rough stuff I was working on. Thoughts?
  22. The old system was basically defender sets the time, attacker stays up. It was almost universally hated by everyone....so I'm really sure why we are so desperate for it to return. I don't really care either way. I do know that even if the port timers change and the US captures say Santa Domingo again on EU time and then sets the timer to US primetime the forum community will still continue to bitch. Whatever system we end up with I just don't want to have to grind PVE fleets to trigger port battles.
