There is only 14 days left on the redeemables so that is a good telling that it's going to prob go down in a week or so. Which reminds me I missed counted and have to go do one more alt so all 5 have it done. Well now I know what I'm doing tomorrow when I get home from work. Kinda good cause a few changes have been done so I can test them out fresh again.

Are make it you can put contracts up for things to be bought in either reals or doubloons. The only thing that can buy with doubloons is reals. What if I want to sale a ship for doubloons instead of reals? The only reason I bring this up is cause folks don't sale as much doubloons on the market as I think is needed. I also noticed on test I was getting way more reals for kills so hopefully they bump up the reals rewards in the next patch. I'm more having a problem getting reals these days than Doubloons just to fund my every day stuff. I'll use an exmaple of the main thing I would sale for Doubloons. MY victory marks that I"m sitting on about 150 of and I have stacks of permits all ready for SOL's so I don't really need them for that. Right now all I can do is sale them for reals and than buy the Doubloons and I would loose money on that deal when I could just sale them directly for doubloons.

High risk play should be that. Why shouldn't they be dead if they screw up doing such? I'm sorry to many of th elight ships ruled the seas when they could tank a hit and than just run. This will show who really has skills or who just abused bad game mechanics in the past? Like some one else said, "I can't bow/stern tank any more." You shouold never been able to in the first place.

A solo 1st rate is a dead 1st rate if it's ganked by a group that is smart enough to work it's stern and sails. It doesn't turn fast enough to cover all sides or to catch some of the other ships messing up. If a group is smart it should be easy work. My problem is what I'll state below...when you have more than one and they are getting stern wrecked by small ships (hercs) that just shrug off broad sides like it's nothing and goes back to repair while the next guy works a stern. I'm glad for the new model. Prime example why I hated the old models. 2 1st rates grinding hostility (I"m one) and we get jumped by 5 hercs. We protect each other by doing a zig zag pattern so that if a Herc and three of them took broad sides we could protect each other. The problem was they would just fall back an keep us tag and heal before going back in. Now if they get caught they are pretty much screewed, specially if that first didn't sink them we will prob be able to get a second shot on them and finish them off. OUt of those 5 hercs we only sunk one and that was cause I demasted it instead of going for a broad side. Even than I had to chase him down as he ran from me with 40% mast until I caught him and sunk him. That just some silly game play when light ships are taking full broad sides from 1st rates and running away. I haven't messed around since the bump in HP yet but was liking what I saw. It also means playing solo is going to be dangoures for some. You might have to just run for another day than killing of the half dozen casuals/bad players that jump you for hunting in National waters. If they are half decent and you get caught your prob going to die like it should be. HIGH RISK should be exactly that not easy kills. If they want fair fights than go arrange them out of national waters with some one else.

Keep your distance and those Carros won't mean crap. I was destroying ships with full broad side sand still bouncing shots from lower tier ships in some battles if there is a big difference between ships (Vict ves 5/6th rates). And what where you firing at that you where demasting ships ever time? Sounds like you where fighting 6th rates to me. As that was the only time I seen ships drop mast. Well that and when Surprises took a full broad side or rack from my Victory.

If folks are so rich they can make so many SOL's than we need to look at other parts of the game. Honestly I think we need a good wipe and let folks start over from scratch mats wise and see just how many SOL's and such we see pop up suddenly. Than again this new damage model might work effectively at doing so. Remember it's not a sure win having a SOL, cause numbers can still out gun you even if they are in smaller ships.

On my last char to do the 25 kills I put that Bow/Stern mod on my ship that pretty much puts them at the same armor rating as the sides. It honestly made a big diffrence then when I played the more tanked out builds of LO/WO or CAR/WO compared to the Teak/Wo with Elephant.....It felt like i wasn't looosing so much crew and structure to random bow/stern hits cause some would actually bounce. I haven't done a true 1st rate vs 1st rate fight, was planing to do that with two alts to see how they handle as AI isn't always the most predictable cause we don't know the build of AI ships.

There should be a reason we use battle sails over anything else, I say make guns less accruate at full sails (remove the stupid laser stern guns). Maybe give ships a bit more structure HP or mast HP so they don't come down so fast. I'm sorry if a 5th rate or below took a full 1st rate broad side to the mast it/they should come down.

So I did a test of my crafters Vict that was Teak/WO with Elephant and I had the mod witch gives you more bow/stern thickness on it and the Naval Structure for thickness. My cannons where 42 mediums, 24 longs, 12 meds (I would of ran longs here but none on test) and 42 carros. I took down that wasa in about 3 1/2 (two was double ball) broad sides. But this is what all the the other ships did to me during that time. Had a buggy Bellona going in reverse 4 knots (That what most of the port structure I lost was from, the Wasa was on my Starbord side). While I took to running to do a repair I had another wasa on my side but most of the AI keep a good long distance so I couldn't get good shots on them. Lets just say I had one ship almost sunk and another half way there when I finaly went under. So folks thinking SOL's will be super fleets remember numebrs will prob always win unless they players are stupid. How I could of dictated this battle and won would of been I had to string the AI out one by one and take them on like that much as a good skill player would do against that many players. So if you get revenge ganked in front of a capital it's not going to be auto win for you if your sitting in a 1st rate. For those saying just use carros, remember if it's a bigger ship you have to get close, every thing pens under 250m pretty much, so if your going to try to get next to that big ship with those carros your going to loose unless your another SOL that can take a few hits. I also want to add but this was prob the Bow/stern mod and the teak of the ship, I didn't take on water until I was down to two structure bars. So your not going to auto sink and I didn't loose any of my Mast. Now I'll add when I was hitting 5/6th rate fleets the light frigats would pretty much get two shotted with my 24/24/12/12 mediums set up. Indefatable was the biggest ship and it took about three broad sides to sink, while surprises would be one broad side and a deck or two reload to finish them off. Which means these smaller ships need to keep to the stern and not take broad sides.

You prob would of lasted a bit better against the Reno with a stronger build. Mah/Mah isn't exactly what we would call a strong build. They can still have there uses, but they can't go broad side to broad side with a 1st rate. It hurts for them to do so. I didn't fight any 4-2nds yet to see how they fair. @AeRoTR I wish our XP once we hit RA actually went some where. Like doubles up xp on unlocking ships or something? Just seems like we should get an extra boost towards that or do as you said something like if you unlocked a similar class ships one slot is auto open for you on the other ships or something.

That is why that side the extreme option was shot down when it was first brought up. Other wise just leave your stockpile at home some where. OP you pay a few to move your doubloons all ready as you mention the teleport cost. Which is honestly what it is. On testbed I was making so much doubloons off those delivery missions I had my chest full and about 20K on my ship. While the rewards where vamped up I can see this being some interesting thing for folks that spend there time at sea hunting enemy waters. When some one finally gets them they could get a very big pay out if the person was being to greedy and not going back to put the doubloons away in safe storage. I think I'm going to start running with a mostly empty chest myself while keepding the doubloons back where the clan warehouse is. Speaking of things that now @admin allow us to store Doubloons in the clan warehouse like we can reals for the clan.

It's up to 17 and I'm one of them. Just took on a L'Herm, Indefat and Surprise with my Victory running 24/24/12/12....Took little damage and pretty much demolished all three ships with no problems. Most shots where taken in 250-300m rang so pretty much anything would pen. That poor Indefatable went down fast. I can see how some folks might complain, but a 1st rate felt like it should against smaller frigates that took full broad sides. I demasted the suprise with one broad side (all three mast) and boarded it. It was very interesting using my lower two decks to hit with ball and than grape. Oh and your Sail/Gunner tabs need to be turned off or on, they stay on during boarding but didn't seem to effect your actions/prep. I turned off sailing to not effect my gunnery and I had a repair going at that time.
-
But just think if they where low on armor and you loaded grape on that side, it could turn a boarding in your favor real fast depending what is fired or finalize that sinking of a ship you could escape if your not board fit and they are but in a hurt ship. I'm kinda glad as I had Lil Texas my crafter that still neeed to do the 25 kills. Looks like he's going to be my testers over this weekend to check this out. Sounds like we are going back to when the center structure bar came out. I liked it where you could demast by killing structure back than. now to see how these 6th rates take broad sides from a first rate too.

Additional cosmetic DLCs
Sir Texas Sir replied to Liq's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
are like we did in POTBS, "I pissed on the helm." "Stole her from you Mom." We would put crap like that on ships just to mess with folks if they captured them. So yes I see why we can't name our ships. -
from using them in the past they each have there own cool downs, but yah this is interesting as I was thinking about moving some of my PvE chars around. Not that I plan to move any PvP server chars around but I should make sure I do it when I know there isn't going to be a need to change chars.

Remove co-ordinates from F11
Sir Texas Sir replied to Gregory Rainsborough's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
They really need to return the grids and cords on the map (not to the char) so we can do that. I can tell you to meet me at this Lag/Lon and if you can read a map half decent you should be able to figure out that location. Than plot your course. -
Remove co-ordinates from F11
Sir Texas Sir replied to Gregory Rainsborough's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Unless your out in the middle of no where most the time a revenge fleet is this, "Hay guys I got tagged by Pirates out side CT just north still int he green zone". You don't need cords to find that battle. Most of us can give you pretty good cords just by the lay of the land. So unless the battle is in the middle of no where than there is no use of the cords to set up a revenge fleet and than it's good to no longer have them in game. Cause you know what most o us know how to use third party stuff to find locations off those cords or to match them. Remove that and you only have revenege fleets around major ports where you should expect to have a whole navy after yo if your raiding a coast line of another nations capital waters. I say remove them next patch. Like said we have the sextent perk no so no reason to have them in there. Devs can still see them if you do a F11 report. We got the return to friendly port remove so why not the F11 now? Just do it. -
Yah but folks like us been playing this game for how many years now? we pretty much know the map like the back of our hands. New folks on the other hand they aren't that lucky and some casuals still suck at navigating. I admit I left it on my chars on test bed and it made things so easy. I pretty much had a second screen open with a char in a LQR doing delivery missions (cause all the ports are neutral didn't need a trade ship). I can see doing something like that with an LGV refit or Trader brig while being more active in the other screen with the main.

Can't take missions in other ports? You mean just like we can't on PvP server? You know how you solve that? CAPTURE A PORT FOR YOUR CLAN/NATION. Than you can take all the missions you want. Think out side of the box and not just about yourself. What if ya'll had 500 players or even whole clans over there cause folks just wanted to play with AI not others? The things I'm brining up are things that would invite more players to come to that server. I'll be honest it's the only reason I refuse to play on PvE cause there is so little content to do on that server and there is no big battle/RvR type play that folks can enjoy. It's just flat out boring for most folks that stick to the PvP server other wise. That and I do like to PvP once in a while. Which the Hard core PvP guys can't get in there head the casuals don't want to PvP 24/7, they want to grind up there ships, get loot, and rewards and not be ganked 24/7. They want to PvP on there terms when they are ready not forced into it as some folks think will get more folks to PvP, forcing any one to change there play style never gets more players, it runs folks off.

It's cause your not killing ships in the OW, the missions say ships in OW. Hostility missions and the kill missions are not OW so they don't count and go towards those missions. Wait ya'll can do Hostlity misisons on PvE? I still think ya'll should be able to flip Nuetral ports on there even if it's for a short time so ya'll can have clan owned ports and such.
