  1. Unless it's the pirate mechanics....than they can give us those to work on, but other wise I agree they need to get the national stuff done with before moving on. I kinda like this, but would love Clan flags too so they don't all look the same. It can be a flag off the top mast that lets you know what ships are part of what clan in big battles cause some times it 's hard to read the name.s
  2. Hoping this is what the devs are planing with the new crafting ships stuff with only 3 temp mods and the rest is what is built in when you build it. I think light ships still need some dura for the new players. What I have said before is SOL's 1, Frigates 2 and Light ships get 3. That will give you a little bit to work with and you have to do something like Hethwill mention about making mods part of the crafting of the ship and not what you put on it later.
  3. I actually think the players could. The problem is they keep chasing off the PvPers that want war and the guys that stick around are the ones with multi alts and all the power to make what they want of the game and that is a PvE carebear alliance for the most art. This is why they really needed to have map resets every couple of months like POTBS did no matter who won or not (the winners was the highest points/regions). Than lock out any one from joining that Nation until the next reset, but give incentive like xp/credit bonus to any that join the lower pop ones. Other games even give lower xp/credits to the high pop nations. So that way you can still stay in your fav nation, you just might get as much XP/Credits as the little nations or the average ones.
  4. I think the problem is there is NO TOTAL CONQUEST in game. You can't capture a nations capital and you can't do total conquest so every one gets settled into there little alliances and it doesn't change. I think one big way to change this is that you can only be in an alliance so many times and than you have to go netural for more than just one cycle. But you have to go to war with some one. That some one can't be the same person every time. On pvp2 every one is at war with Spain so they don't have to go to war with each other. Would be nice if there was some system to force high pop nations to only aligned with low pop nations so they war with other high pop nations and help each other out. On PvP2 it's even worse. You have the US/BRITS/DUTCH three largest nation all in an alliance with each other and they only fight against the Pirates. Dutch are fighting the swedes but other than not no one else is fighting each other. US just crushed France that was kinda forced in an alliance with Swedes prob with alts. Spain every votes war with except the Danes. That way they don't have to go to war with each other. The Danes pretty much keep to them selves but they use to fight the swedes and dutch. US has majority of the map regions and keeps taking them, but Brits and Dutch seems to not care cause they can use there ports. The problem I think is when you can use other ports with an alliance than why should you fight each other? I think they should only be able to trade in those ports not craft or make it you can only craft ships in your nations regions, but you can do buildings in alliance regions. This would make it more important to actually own the region yourself.
  5. We actually been talking about trying to get a tournament up and going on PvP2, but every time we start to get numbers back something new push more players away. I voted shallow waters cause DEEP WATER tends to be very hard to get a balance of BR in them. I really wished they limited the event to 4th rates and below. SOL's need to be keep to your hostility grinding and Lineship Port battles. Than again that is just my opion and I know folks only want to fight in the biggest ship they can.

I don't want stupid arena style battles to take away more from the OW, but I do think that the events should be locked to Shallow water ships for the Shallow one and the Deep should be 4th rates and below. Most the time I'm seeing uneven battles it's cause the bigger force on one team or the other is rolling with a bunch of SOL's. Lets keep those in the PB 's and when your doing major hostility grinding. Lets make these events more about the fun smaller ships that was really the back bone of the Navy's of the times.
  7. Yah I'm fine with them even down it to 50% hell even 25% and every one gets it. Though I'm more with the 50% part myself. Does any one even use the Expert Surgeon skill? There are a few I think can be combined and maybe more useful. I would say combine those two perks into one to give you better crew return and give every one 25% of there crew lost back after every battle.

  8. I keep reading folks say DUELS over and over that the demasting happens. Ok most folks in them aren't your average casual players. How much of a problem was this in normal OW and PB fights? You don't fight the same when it's not a 1 vs 1 equal ship par up duels in these type of fights so to be honest something like a skillful demasting shouldn't be affecting every one. Other games done this where they adjust games for the 1% elite and not for the 99% casual players (THE DIVISION?) Once they figure this was screwing the game up for every one else they fixed it. I have prob only demasted a hand full of ships and it was all ways me in a much bigger ship hitting the mast of a much smaller ship. It's easier for me to just take down sails, but in those cases it's expected that a lucky shot would take out a small ships mast. I'm with most of ya'll revert back to thickness before the patch, but keep the HP boost to help keep them from happening so fast.
  9. This is why I'm glade coward is gone. Never understood how I can desail and decrew a ship (rattler vs an LVG) and than have it go poof not even a piss distance off my deck as I move in to board them jsut cause I'm not getting any more crew or sail hit box hits. This is why I think every one should auto get area control as a in game mechanic and not some silly perk. Same goes for doctor should be something every one gets not just a perk. Since even the devs have said the crew kills in a fight are not that they are all dead, it's that those are the ones that can't fight any more.

  10. The fav one is the boarding Ingerland I had that was crew built for max crew. It was Teak Crew Space Speed. They just couldn't figure how it was out running them. Well having all 18 lbrs for my gun and dropping the top deck makes it a little bit faster even witth the copper plating. That and I was at my best wind against there ship. And when you have some one sails down stop shooting at the ones with all the holes in it. They just couldn't understand how I was keeping distance not at 100% sails and how I escaped (cause they weren't hitting my sails). Than again that was Badbenny and his little group.
  11. They defiantly need to do the clan dry dock thing for sure. I still like the fact that you have to pick up the ship at the port it was crafted at, but needs some type of limit like can only pick up without an outpost if same nation. Notes can't be traded to other nations and I would go as far to even limit alliance. Other wise ships have to be bought/picked up the old way.
  12. It blows my mind how many folks don't know the game mechanics. I been called a hacker so many times cause i used the game to beat some one when they made many mistakes or didn't have a clue how to do simple things like lock decks, Run lower guns so you can CREW your guns. Run lighter gun set up to get more speed out of a ship. I have some boarding ships that do exactly that I run lighter guns to need less crew to main those guns and to have a lighter ship to get more speed so yes I can out run you in a ship that traditional is slow as hell. OH AND LEARN YOUR WIND for you ship and the ones chasing you. I'm in a running fight I pull up my ship and the ones I'm against to play with what best wind I can use against them. BUT hay if if they can't figure out simple things like that it's just easy to call some one a Hacker.

  14. They need to fix the servers first before they do that. PvE should be shut down and merged with either servers as it's really just a waist of resources right now when this is only testing stage. Bring it back when there are more players or the game goes live. They need to move the server to a better location for a global player base if they are going to go with one server. I don't think folks have a problem doing a merger into one server (PvP2 into PvP1) it's the issue of server location and ping for many players. Specially West Coast US and the SEA/AUSS players. I played on many EU servers in other games and I hate to say it this is the worse ping I have had on one from my location compared to big named games with 1000's of players. When we split the EU server cause of player pop it was so laggy I switched to US server and the smaller pop and stayed. I got a feeling if they don't fix the server issues if this game ever goes live and gets a large numbers it wouldn't be able to handle those numbers if it couldn't handle them very effective a while back. Merging the servers now without fixing those iusses will run off more players than folks think it would increase the populations. Not to mention the issues we have on PvP2 are issues that PvP1 will be seeing sooner or later as the population gets smaller and smaller so having the two servers kinda works out as you are testing kinda a large pop and low pop of the game. Just now both servers are getting to be in the low pop range. You should pop in more, we miss you man. It's hard fighting the three biggest nations with like 5-10 guys and 10 is pushing it. Even though they seem to think we have 100 players or something...lol
  15. Spanish took a lot of gold from the Mexico. I never understood why where wasn't any gold/silver ports over there or other things. It's the same on PvP2 that the US has all that area that isn't being used and they still complain when you try to take one port back from them so you can do some econ or something. Though really have no clue why they just crushed France and there two regions they had in Spain (LA and Texas) all cause of a stupid few swedes that forced an alliance with France few players (prob alts involved). It's funny Pirates own three regions right now and we are hard press to hold those, but the US/Brits/Dutch alliance seems to be only to keep us from fighting them. I would think the Brits and Dutch would be more worried about the US that owns almost all the map. One day they will get a bit greedy and want there ports too.
  16. I kinda like the fact it's suppose to be hard mode and we get no official alliance, verbal ones between clans work great for screening. I can even get if all nations join to fight us if we are a big threat (like when we brough US to 11 ports and Brits to 1 on PvP2), but we shouldn't be the only one they fight. If we aren't a threat they should be fighting each other not making stupid super alliances and going to war with small dead nations so they don't have to go to war with each other. Folks keep forgetting the Pirate Republic thing the devs very much have said that last about 12 years. That and I all ways just see it as testing the National system until the Pirate Mechanics can be released and we are actually not just another nation. I'm really hope they drop conquest from pirates and let us just raid with perm ports/regions. POTBS did something like this. Gave incentive to join low pop/loosing nations after a port battle cycle. I liked how MWO does it for the Mercs. If we join a high pop clan we get a reduce rewards. The mid range is base line, but if we join a weaker clan we get a bonus to the rewards. Low pop nations can easily get an xp/credit boost to help new players in those nations. The problem is once you cap there really isn't much right now for those xp/credits cause every one at that level is sitting on millions right now. And with the alliance system the way it is they don't have to fight to get it. Just get buddy buddy with that nation and you can use there ports. I think there should still be a limit on things like crafting your ships and such should still be limited to only ports your nation owns. This will give incentive to help the other nation control certain regions or to break alliance so you can have a region to craft in that they have. Keep it where you can use buildings in friendly ports but make it where you can't craft the ships except in your own nation ports. Kinda miss those days, really wish they make it like clan vs clan vs outlaws soon. Some other pirates we wouldn't mind sinking for ya'll. This also allows us to work as Privateers for some nations and that will allow us to drop out of the conquest stuff, but we need raid system for sure. We been getting some long time Nats switching over to BLACK lately. It has blown there minds when they find out we where not joking when we said it was only 15-20 players with about 10-15 on at a time that took the two nations down. They just never understood why we where all over the place. A lot of alts and a lot of dual boxing all at once. They still think Pirates is the largest nation on PvP2 cause of that. Silly Nats have no clue and we aren't at the numbers we use to be. Barely 5-10 on at any good night in the clan. Hay and heard you been spotted on PvP1...don't do it man...don't do it....lol 1. I don't mind more than one alliance if it actually helped out the small nation, but on PvP2 they don't do that and they never get a chance to grow. The second nation should all ways be a lesser one not top three nations. 2. I liked the one week that the alliance was broke, the fights where more fair and equal numbers. It's not our fault the biggest nations are filled with carebears and not as many PvPers. 3&4. POTBS had set resets when you hit a certain goal. I think either timed ones or something like when one nation gets 75% of the regions owned regions they need to be reset. There is no current total conquest system in game and you can't capture a nation and force an alliance with them so any nation brought down to one or two regions with no alliance to help them will never get back on there feet. 5. Could be exploited, but they do need to fix the port battle timers so US players can have port battles on there prime times. We have an event during the times we use to have Port battles, but we can't have any port battles now. There should never be any port battles during time servers should/could be down for maintance/updates either. Just slide this window over 2-4 hours and it will fix that. More chances for prime time fights means more players to be on and want to fight. This goes for both servers not just PvP2. The complaint about night flips can be solved if you allow folks to do those battles when they have the most players on to defend the off hours. Right now it's a very odd time when most are at work in US so you can't even get your AUS/SEA/US players on either server to protect those ports during off times. And many pirates play this way, but many don't until we have proper mechanics. My whole clan still does the RvR thing cause we don't have our own mechanics. Until than we will play as the Pirate Republic. We have had a long standing alliances with the Danes on PvP2. Over 6 months now we have had a verbal agreement to help each other out. Longest standing alliance in the game as far as I know on PvP2 and it still stands firm.
  17. I have to agree that the late commers should be at a distance not right in the middle of the fight. That is my biggest complaint even when you have friends that join in right after you start the fight. They are actually spawned in closer to the action than the starting group. We seen this a lot when you have two groups grinding at once and one has a closer mission so all join. Second group actually spawns between the first group and the NPC's.
  18. Because if the window closes in 5 mins we can't join and stop them. If they see folks comming than they will now just telport home to friendly and you won't get any fights. It takes the chance of PvP out of the game. We don't want to have to sit there for 20 mins to wait for them to exit cause our spotter found them. The regions are big and some times it takes a good while to find some one. I spent a whole night in a rattler/reno more than once going around Grand Turk region trying to find the grind group of Brits while we had guys counter grinding and one group on the hunt. That was about 3 hours wasted cause you have to be exactly there to find them when they pop out and move from one mission to the next. 5 mins is way to short to do that and get into the mission to join them. It should be back at the 15 min mark or put it in the middle at 10 mins.
  19. I wouldn't say a full wipe. Though a lot of folks has way to much mats and gold to really tell how the econ works. They should prob clean every one before beta to test that out properly. Though to many folks forget this is a Alpha Test stage and they really should be doing a lot more wipes.
  20. If your in enemy waters than you should expect revenge fleets. You send out one guy and than you check. Or you can all just be cowards and go to friendly port now with the new option. Sorry if your fighting in hostile waters you should expect that. Now you can't even join them at all and you do the same just sit out side until they pop out so how would that change anything? Though with the friendly port teleport option it means you can't even do that.
  21. I just found out last week too that it was lowered. I don't remember seeing this in any patch notes or what not. I mean really they keep doing changes that are for PvE style players and it's killing things.
  22. RVR on PvP2? LOL you got to be joking right? US/BRIT/DUTCH are all in alliance with each other and they are the three biggest nations. No one is fighting each other. We pirates kicked them back from trying to take kids and tried to flip two regions they took from us (we took them at start from france and spain) and they all freaked out and allinged. The system is broken. They can't fight each other and con't do the PvP event. Cause no one can fight each other if no Pirates show up. Dans are off hour and doing there own thing (they don't have the numbers they have). US just took the two econ ports France have cause of every one wanting to kill on little group of Swedes that alligned with them. Spain well...poor poor poor spain I don't think has even showed up to a port battle with more than 1-2 players. Every one spends there war on them so they don't have to war with each other. They have three regions. Yah there is no RvR. It's dead on there other than the PvP event zone and the devs need to something before PvP1 ends up the same way with super alliances. But I agree we don't need more numbers to test things. We need to keep the current players and the current mechanics aren't helping that. To much grind to get RvR. You can't find any one doing hostility missions cause they close to fast. PvP2 can't even do port battles during it's own prime time cause of the port battle set timers are way off from what they use to be and they don't even cover PvP2 prime time. Funny we have a PvP event during our prime time but we can't do RvR PB at all. Most of west coast isn't even home yet so can't play. That is a 1/3 of your us base that can't even do port battles. Many things need to be fixed and tweeked before we try to get new players.

  24. How about just giving every one there capital and rookie capital for free and that will leave them with 8 ports they can pick where they want. Thus making it actually 10 ports total.
  25. I don't want lobbies, but I want to fight and I think your right. I mean why the hell is the hostility mission only open for 5 mins now? We can't even hunt for them unless you win the lotto and luck out right when they leave a mission to find them and stop them. It needs to be back at 15 mins and I would prefer some type of notice about what port is getting the most hostility in what area of a region. If I"m spending all my time hunting for that player causing hostility I"m not getting PvP or grinding it down. Pretty much all flips are Bomb to 50 and than rush grind to 100%. Small nations have no chance stopping others with counter grind but they could if they can find the missions and fight them. Bring the timer back to 15 mins if anything so there would be more PvP in OW.
