not a word if it's dropping this week on testbed. I'll be back once that happens, but right now I been playing TC Ghost-recon Wildlands to kill time. I'm hoping they prove us wrong and get it updated today but I'm not getting my hopes up. Cause if they knew they would make a certain date I'm sure they would post it.

Cause they aren't allowed up here, they are down in Brazil/South America. The only way I can see Portugal is as a neutral trade AI group. Kinda like if we had actual East Indy Trade Group or something as NPC's and some of the other famous trade companies that where almost as powerful as some Nations. Scottish-German here so yah I would prob be tempted to fly the flag too. I mean we are basically brothers just a hop skip and islands apart. Though to be honest I don't think we need any more nations. I think the game might be better if they had basic Nation zones an d than had every thing instead broken down by Clan controls (though each clan has a parent nation). My second pirate was Spanish when I started him, but his back story was he was Dutch that Privateer for the Spanish Monarch. If we had a reputation system where you can use that instead of an alliance than some players can have good reputation for some nations and work with them. Or in the OP you can have a British player/clan that has good reputation with Spanish and that is why they are working out of that region. Able to fight for both British and Spanish. While you might have another clan that has loyalties for both the British and US but hates Spanish. He can fight on the Brit side as with clan B but say if US and Spanish fight each other they can find there selves on the same battle fields fighting each other even though they are both of British nation. Yah I really think we need some type of reputation system. So much you can do with one.

Can you do me a favor and tag this post that stats this from 03/03? OH and so you saying every thing on the testbed currently which isn't the new patch at all can't go live? So even though we where going to get the 3 dura 1st rate patch and such a while back until ya'll changed you minds (and think hotfix the dupping problem)? Cause that wasn't how I was getting it about the current stuff on test bed along with Pirate vs Pirate Mechanics that was suppose to all go live a while back until ya'll decide to go ahead with the server changes and wipes? Again if ya'll are clear with us and not post it 20 pages in a thread you would have a lot more folks understanding. I have never seen a post that comments that live is dead and won't get updated until the wipe until just recently in the last week. Which by the way I understand that and don't expect it to go live any time soon. Though stop adding and making changes and pushing the dates back. Get the patch to testbed, let us test it and get the live wiped and than move to the next stage. What your killing the player base is by pushing things back and making more changes and adding more stuff until it's going to be May or June before we get a patch and every one pretty much have given up on your game and made a bunch of bad reviews cause of your actions.-

And I marked flagged it cause I didn't agree with his view of the game. I'm a bit hot headed on here, but i have never gave a bad review of the game cause I don't think it needs it. Not in this stage of it's development, but the problem is ya'll worry to much about those minor few idiots that give bad reviews than the actually loyal customers that stick it out on the up and down. My review states exactly what this game is, an EA that we are helping test in the current stage of development and that things can change at any moment until the game is final and released.-

It's not our jobs to go through every review and try to counter them. Though I did call him out (prob will get deleted) that he hasn't even played the game other than an hour or two and doens't even know anything other than what other folks have said. I also reported the review for this reason, but it's not my job to go through every review and counter them. Maybe cause the way it's suppose to work like any other game is. You put the content on testbed, we spend a few weeks maybe a month top testing it and than it goes live. NOT PUT IT ON TEST BED AND NOT UPDATE ANYTHING FOR 5 MONTHS. Than we get told that live is dead and you have no plan to update it until a wipe. Which was nothing that we where told months ago about the test bed. We where told you plan to put things on testbed so we can help work out the kinks with a smaller group that want to test things and help Than it will go live. So yah delete mine and other post that call ya'll out about bad practice that don't work. I have alpha tested many other games and never had a dev team work like this.-

See this is the problem with today. Every one gets way to butt hurt way to easy and we want to baby them. Yes I'm former Navy and rugged Offshore Oil Hand and I'ma bit more rude and crude and use to harsh things in life, but lets face it. Some folks need to get some thicker skin and just toughen up. I'm sorrry buttercup(speaking of butthurt player not you Admin) if a few words hurt you and you can +ignore some one and wait for staff to do there thing, than maybe the Navy life isn't for you. This isn't the Snowflake Navy Folks. Yes we shouldn't have to deal with abuse too, but that is why we should have active moderators in game that can be on chat during most key hours of prime time. That way if it's bad enough they can react on the spot and not have to wait till end of week. If folks complain than make bad review than just move on cause we will make better reviews later to top them. Right now many folks aren't making good reviews or well my review was made when I started the game and I won't update it until release is cause it's in EA I'm not going to change my review every other day. And my review is good for now, but I keep wanting to go change it when you do crap like this. You are pushing away your players with actions like this. I don't mind the rest of the patch, but the Global and Battle coms removal thing I won't stand behind cause I think it's a big mistake. The game very much is a social game and community that needs that interaction for when we plan things and just the every day banter with other players. It would be diffrent if we can make private group coms of friends and other groups, but we can't even do that and we can't have none same nations folks on your friends list so you can't easly talk to them like that. I have a few folks that I talk to all the time in other nations in PM, and the only way we know each other is online is we see one or the other speaking in global than we make the PM to talk about other things. -
I so could of just do that. Though I really just couldn't see doing anything on the servers tonight. No one is in our team speak and this is our clans peak time. Only 43 where on PvP2. PvP1 was 30 something and PvE 20 something....I think I'm going to go play some other game...oh and testbed had 3 guys. Other wise I would prob just goof off and do that, get neutral it's own port battle.

I did a 152 mission and got a neutral AI. So some maybe it's still neutral with no agro (since every one else gets pIrate by default) or could of swear it was random nation, but many it throws the neutral nation (white flag) in there randomly too.

PvP2 46 PvP1 34 PvE 23 Testbed 3 And this is US prime time where we whould normally have around 150-200 on PvP2. Prettty dang sad. -
@admin Any update if the patch will make it to testbed this week?

I'm still betting we will see it in may. Specially if we don't see the testbed patch in the next two days. I know I sound negative about this, but it's a force of habit cause they have never been on time and they tend to be about a month late cause they keep adding crap and changing things. If they had did the PvE/PvP merger I would bet we wouldn't see the patch until late May.

This use to be how it was when we did missions, but now what it does is pick a random nation and that is who is in our mission so if you see some random spain, french or dane pop up at kidds it's some one slinging a ship the old school way of doing a mission with a cutter and than escaping to leave the fight and than sling your ship. As for the neutral I seen it a few other times on the map. I think it's when you do the same but you use a contraband goods ship which makes it a pirate and since pirate can't put agro on pirate it makes it neutral, but I can be wrong on this too. Cause I seen it in Spain area before too. The only thing our war vote does is we can't enter battles that that nation is in. Say we are at war with US (all ways are) and you get in a fight with US. We can only pick the french side to join. Now you get in a fight with some Spanish guy and we aren't at war with them we can pick if we want to join Spain or French side. Though as of recent patches it changed for pirates, now every one is at war with pirates so no one can join our battles to help us. Danes use to be able to join our fights before alliance patch came out.

Might want to list what server you will be located on. Though with Nassau in your name sounds like ya'll are going to work out of the shallows? Should take Nassau from them pesky Brits as soon as the patch drops. Good luck as I'm sure we will be seeing each other soon as a fellow pirate. Oh I see your just running on the testbed for now. -
Same here for most our guys. Current testbed is stuff that should been push to live a month ago but they never did it. Most of us plan to run the test server until the patch to learn where things area and new mechanics. Righty now it's pointless to be over there cause it's old system and well you leave zero crafter with no bps or mats.

See I thought it was the same ship cause in the past folks have left off the L and just stated Hermione is being worked on so I figure it was a reskin ships of before it was turned over to the Spanish. So in other words I'll prob never see the Santa Cecillia in my own hands unless I capture one.....and well I'm a pirate so that isn't out of the book lol -
Yah until release and even after than I think this one option should stay. While I didn't use it early one for bugs and such, but there was so many times I got lost as a new player I just had no clue where I was. We didn't have the map cords back than so now it's a bit more easy for folks to figure out where they are, but I can still seeing this being a big problem for new players getting lost and just wanting to return home to there capital. And yes there are still spots. I was coming back from Bermuda with a load of cedar some one gave me. Was going to hit Little river and send it to the port I need it at. Well I went west from Bermuda. Went to do somethings and well kinda forgot about atl tabing and noticed i was in land.....I mean deep in land. I some how was on the very north part of the map and you can get behind the coast up there and get stuck. While I could dump my cargo and use return to capital as a final option to get unstuck, but I was stuborn. An hour and half later I was able to get back out by going back around the north top map and back out. Yah moral of story is don't AFK sale and forget where you are going when your that close to the map edge. Just the other day I did it way down Southeast corner too, but that was only like a 10 min detour from goign to south. So I think the return to capital should stay and keep it the same, no cargo in your hold as a safe way to return home if you get stuck or lost. Hell even if you want to give it a longer cool down that would work.

Re-thinking demasting

I would like to know when they announced this that live is dead and test bed is the only updates until they make them to the live servers? Shouldn't this just mean every one should for the most part be playing on the testbeds? Though I think the problem is we have to many servers and tetbed I would be on more testing, but they shouldn't take 5 months to patch a live server in this stage of development. I can see them doing this when the game is released haveing your expermental test server up. Look at every game out there that has something like this, it goes up for a month with the patch at most and than the patch goes live and it's closed until the next update. Not 5 freaking months. So basicly what they are doing this week with the testbed server and than releaseing the patch at the end of the month is how it's suppose to work. Not FIVE MONTHS LATER going to live. No wonder all the numbers are dropping so freaking low right. Now back on topic. I found that on testbed with AI so far I get pretty tore up if I go for demasting equal war ships. Though that ship might have zero hull damage by time the mast drops and it's dead in the water. All the while I have most of my armor gone on one side and a little structure or it's spread out on both sides. It's a trade off and I think part of the problem is that I'm using ships they give me and not what I would build to do the job. I really wish they gave us crafting levels on testbed cause I would love to craft some ships the way I would play them and test things like.....demasting. So I'm waiting for the next patch to come and see if we can get them to bump up our crafting while we test cause we can't test new econ if we can't craft. Also ping makes a big difference when your doing demasting. I can do it on PvP2 easly in most ships, but I go over to PvP1 or Test and i have problems placing my shots cause of the slight delay in the ping. In small fights no problem, but than I get the lag in bigger fights/fleet missions and that goes out the window, but in those fights I'm going for broad sides any way. What I found is a sure death of some one in a 2 vs 1, 2, 3 is if those two guys work on one ship at a time they can do quick work of the other team. One goes for hulls/sterns and the other demast. Did this a while back in shallows in a 2 vs 3. Where I demasted two ships while the other guy basicly sunk one of the ones I was demasting. You leave a ship dead in the water and go work on another. In that case what he did was move to anouther while I boarded the demasted ship and than I came to help him. Keeping my distances every time so my weaker cedar ship wouldn't be beat up so bad. H.Rattler/Niagria vs 3 H. Rattler and we capped two and sunk one. So it's a usefull methoed in a fight. Used the same thing in a 3 vs 6 in deep water ships (mostly 4/5th rates with one 6). The only guy that could catch our rennon/trincs was there Rattler. I demasted him while letter my other two guys escape and went right thorugh the middle of there ships. By time they turned to chase me I was at full speed and out running them. That little rattler which was there speed tagger couldn't get high enough mast back to get speed to catch me and I was the slowest ship of the the three on our side. So yes things like this can turn the fight. We could of stayed and fight, but they had us way out gun with the other 4 ships and there was a big fleet that got pulled heading our way to join the fight. For the average player you hardly see any one demast folks, it's us more hard core elite (I still call my self avarege) players that do it. -

QUEST LINES? Does this mean we will maybe have a story missions to go with the game upon release? I really hope you don't make the Prince de Neuf a Prem ship, it's one of the ones I"m looking for to fill a certain spot. By looks it would fall around the Cerberus and Nigeria spot to maybe close in that odd gap in level of ships right there. I'll be sad that I'll never get to play the Le Hemione/San Cecillia since one is going to be a Prem ship and I don't do Prem stuff and the other is going to be a Dev reward only ship (only folks on PvP2 that built one the few hours we had the BP have one....we never get rewards on that server). We know Santa Cecilia is a Dev reward ship, but I was hoping we got the Le Hermione as a common player ship and not some Prem ship I'll have to pay for it I want it in game. To me Prem ships should be re-skinned ships you can get in game but have special paints/looks to them. They should never be any ship that is seen as META/STRONGER than any other ship in it's class. The LGV makes a great trader hunter cause it's the same speed or faster than most of them and can carry decent guns to fight and than loaded with all gold board mods you make short work of any ship. I taken Trincs with mine too, but I do run it with two frigates in the fleet or two suprises to help run down ships and capture them cause of the lack of bow guns. You need to run area control too so you keep them in battle. Was so glad when that stupid Courage perk was removed cause folks would just pop out when your moving to get to board a ship and haven't tagged them in a set time. Now that Indiaman is going to be interesting as a convy ship now that you can have up to three of them in your fleet and make cargo runs. We did this with the treasure ship events had about 20 of them out with a few guys as taggers and scouts around us and a few combat escort ships. -

Wait when did this come around cause apparently no one informed your players of this? Cause if you did than I'm pretty sure every one would of been moved over to the testbed servers? See again your communications sucks to your customers. Now I'm going have to go dig through a billion post and i bet it's on page 20 something you said this instead of actually making a full post about it or you edit the post without making an announcement of a post some one all ready read and saw no reason to read again. You need to have an announcement section that has the current info and that is locked to comments. Let the feedback be in another section that can get spam with a billion comments. To much info get lost on 20 pages back or on update of data info that isn't known cause we don't see the announcements. Make the announcement page. Lock it to only the admin. When he updates that announcement he makes the comment and only him. Than have another post that is feed back. I'll make examples for you. Announcement of Patch 9.98 Information on Ship Crafting changes and other stuff: This post in a thread that is only for Announcement is locked and only post of the Admin when he updates the info is made. So it has the main post and any post after that is just Admin going. INFO UPDATED. So you know he updated the info and it's not lost on page 20 of spam comments. Feedback of Patch 9.98 Information on Ship Crafting changes and other stuff: This post is not locked and we can comment anything we want. The original post has the same info as the announcement post and is updated when it is, but it is made so we can comment and make question. This way the info isn't lost to the players. This post can be made by your staff as it's just a copy of the one posted by ADMIN and the DEV team. -

I left the testbed stuff off cause it was a question about the live server. Not the testbed. That and I forgot the silly 5 min battle timer hot fix which was really there way to spur folks to get out and sink more ships before the patch, but i think it backfired more than did what they want. Just means all the gankers where out in force. Which is a very small percentage of there player base. The casual players that make up of abut 90% of there player base stayed in side or went to play other games.
