Yah I can increase my production by 10/20% at the cost of 10/20% to port upkeep. I can decrease the labor cost by 10/20% at the cost of the same. So if you have a max out port it cost you 140K to upkeep. Not bad as I pay that with one mission. Tax can only be adjusted from 0-10%. By what I'm seeing on Global is that the tax can pay any where to 25-100%+ of your upkeep depending how many folks use that port. The second part was about the general discussion that was going on about the econ. It had nothing to do with you.

One of the biggest issue if folks don't put up contracts or try to fill them. I use to put them up all the time for a decent profit for who ever brought them, but folks won't don it. Than they sale to the AI and make a little profit. Or they want way to much of a profit and put up there own contract that I will not buy resources for more than 100% profit. For me 50% profit for raw goods unless it's something rare or harder to get I will not pay more than that. We have a lot of greedy players that have no clue how economics work. It's very easy to see when some one ask me to build a ship. I give the the price of the ship using cost and price of the market permits (cause of CM cost) and than give them the total price of the ship with a slight mark up for my time and labor. They go nuts saying it's to expensive. Well it cost me to make this ship and I'm giving you a good deal cause i did every thing myself instead of buying from others. When if you put in those cost it would be another 50-100K more. Than again CM's/permits where getting a bit silly pre-patch on cost in shop. They don't understand if you want a permit ship you bring me the permit or your paying the market price for the CM's it takes to get that permit (even though I get the permits with CM's I grind out not buy). So honestly the biggest issue is that 90% of the players have no clue what the cost of things is or how economics even works.

For folks that want to stay in the safe zones of the capital. Maybe capture a port and set up your buildings and pump up production and lower labor hours and you won't have a problem. That is what we are doing . You need a reason to capture ports and one of them is that along with certain resources. If you keep it AI owned you keep the reduced production rate. I'm prob out producing any one on coal for cheaper right now cause we took a port and pump it up to 20% while most guys are still using the one in the safe zone. As for Econ is dead, I'm making a killing off cannons once again cause folks are active. I even have the lowest prices in Mort for the 6/9 lbrs and they sale like hotcakes. With new econ though I'm prob going to jack up my prices cause every one has money now. So don't tell me you can't make money, just like the guys bitching they can't make money about trading. No you have to pick your trade goods better and don't get the easy instant big pay outs like before. They want it easy and not have to work to make money. I made an easy couple 100K the other day just from goods I picked up on the way back with an empty load from dropping off some goods (coal). Though I'll be honest the real money maker is grinding AI now. This will put the guys that actually like to kil thins more equal on money with the guys that just run around doing trade goods all the time.

Well for most of us we can't or won't ever get a SC so we will have to settle with the ship we can get with similar stats. I still think they need to bring the SC in game with a normal skin as the Hermione, but maybe that would confuse folks with having a l'Hermione too in game lol

Idea: Mixed fleet Port Battles...
Sir Texas Sir replied to Norfolk nChance's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
If you want clan content than join a clan. Every other game is like that. If you want port battles without being in a clan they have this new game coming out soon just for you. BR limits in a Port battle would mean you need a lobby and we don't want lobby's for an OW sandbox. Save that for the NA: L game. Though I do agree it would be nice to see some ports that are only 5th rate and below or 3rd rate and below or as @Teutonic mention 12 vs 12 instead of 25 vs 25. I wouldn't go lower than that cause it's for a port battle. Maybe make raids that are 6x6, 12x12, or 25x25, but anything smaller than than 12 really should be for a raid not a port battle over control of a port. -
Instructions auc Canoniers nerf?
Sir Texas Sir replied to dbeerewout's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Do we even still have light carriages? Use to love this mod when I was leveling up a char or helping some one level up so they can better man crew on certain ships and still fight in them. I think it is, but it's another one of those rare drops (like Planking, Barricades and a few other things) that should be open to PvP/RvR chars without some random RNG drop from PvE. -
@admin can we maybe get a short little list of the hotfix from the last two day. Nothing big just maybe mention which big bugs have been fixed and what not. Really the crashing in battles is turning a lot of folks off from playing and we all ready lost two 1st rates cause of them and a few other ships. F11's have been done and ya'll are pretty good at replacing them when it's the game fault, but would be nice to know if those bugs where found and fixed or still pending. Keep up the good work I won't mention names, but another game i love to play just did an expansion, some major bugs on there single player mode and they pretty much said, "we will prob get to it some time in October with a hotfix." I was like really you charged for this and than want us to wait almost a month. They did a small hotfix but it didn't cover the very bad bug that was left in cause they didn't have the single player in the beta of this expansion. That is the things we are glad ya'll don't do. Honestly it needs to be between the 4th rates and 3rd rates BR wise and prob high enough to maybe not be made into port battles, but than again it's easy to get and what's the diffrent from going from the Aggy Meta to now the Wasa Meta? Though do think the BR needs to be raised some.

Are just bored of the game and moved on. WoT I'm one of the clan creators. I haven't played that game in prob over a year. I passed on my status and become a lesser officer, but it's still my team speak they use. I don't pay for it any more, and to me it's their team speak not mine. Though they have all ways said if I want to come back I'll get my founder spot back. Just no need for me to hold that position any more. Though the point is that clan was created cause are original clan leader went AFK/MIA so we shut up shop and made a new clan with the core original players from the first one. They could of done the same thing when I retired from playing the game (this game replaced it), but I stepped down and let some one else take control. So it can work both ways.

Why? It is not thier clan, it's the creators clan. If he does not pass on his powers or be active it's time for the clan to move on and make a new clan. Our clan leader isn't very active any more and we keep the clan going, though had to have him pop on and set Diplomats last night so we can get friendly clans added to our clans list for the port battle. If he wouldn't do that we have talked in the past about making a new clan. We all ready have a sub clan that is run by active players and a few of us have alt clans. So some times you just got to let that clan go and make a new one. Seen it a billion times on other games. I have also seen great clans go dead and than return when core members got back into the game. The folks that lefty just came back to the old clan and reformed.

NAVAL ACTION
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
That is why they have only 6 ships in the ports battle right now to help little clans get a piece of the pie. Though I would love to see some ports with different make up of what is allowed in the port battle. Maybe one port is only 5th rates and below. Another port you can only have 3rd rates and below and such. Though I can see a few of the small back woods hole in the wall ports maybe being downgraded to one circle and only having 12 vs 12 port battles for the really small guys to have some fun. -
I'm sorry just take the port when you can, if you can't take it now cause of some one else owning it than you wouldn't prob been able to keep it either. Patch haven't even been out a week let folks get settled in and we will find out how many can afford there land grabs and who can actually hold those grabs too.

Diplo is actually a higher rank than officer by what I can tell cause they can do more, that is why it's a creator only power to grant. Though having a way to kick a creator can be bad or good. I seen on other games folks kick some one they didn't like and it was his clan. Sorry if you don't like that person or he's gone MIA, it's time to leave and make your own clan. Though I do think there should be a position between Diplomat and Creator for some co-leaders of a clan. You can only set 3 Diplo's right now. Maybe have 3 Co-leaders that the creator can set that have the same powers that he has too. The only thing they can't do is delete the clan. Though to be honest I would prefer to just see a clan log before anything else.

We lost two Santi's and almost lost my Vict doing hostility missions and game crashing. The two players that lost Santi's did F11's, but we are getting more crashes. We than later did San Iago port battle and I crashed. Lucky I got back in. Than a few other guys crashed too. We where able to keep there ships safe, but this is starting to get really really really old fast and loosing ships such as 1st rates and others is not helping keeping folks interest in the game. We basically have decided to not run up any more agro or do port battles if we are going to continue to crash and risk ships.

You can as I did some at Saline Point even after AIB flipped it. It was nice seeing them at the port battle. Only a few of our guys showed up but it was all there show just like Parrot Cay will be all them. Only showing up to give them pointers. Maybe these solo ports will help get more small clans out and into the RvR of stuff as one port isn't like taking a whole region and can be more easily fought over. I think they are going to have 15 guys show up for this port battle. Maybe they can keep it up and can fight some of the other nations small clans. We where having fun in the mission for once.....well until three of use got DC one after another. I got DCed than two others did. By the way when your fighitn AI first rates and it's 4 1st rates and 3rd vs 10 1st rates. Getting DC sucks. We may or may not have lost a 1st rate tonight. It for sure wasn't mine though, as for the none Vict in our group I can't say.....lol
-
Hostility missions are 10 ships of that port type. 6th Rates (Mercuries), 4th Rates (Aggy's) and 1st Rates (Victs). Depending how many poople you bring you can have about 4-5 guys and knock them off pretty fast and get alot of cash, do them solo and you can make even more, but better bring a lot of repairs. I just did three 1st rate missions with 4 other guys and I made 1 million. Did the same last night. I'm averaging about 1 million a night just off Hostility missions. It pays for all my econ and than some.

The easy way would put the limit on clan, only 3 ports per clan. I think after we get the land grab out of the way it won't be so bad, but the other thing is just take the limit off for a week or so and see how things settle out and than put it back on. I know the limit was to keep from zerg a nation, but maybe bump it up to 5-10 for a week or to if you don't take the limit off. Though I think the best thing is three per clan as some big clans might actually have more than one fight in a day. We have a good number of SEA players along with our US so we wouldn't want to be limited to sharing port slots with other clans when we can easily field 2 port battles back to back in US prime time and than prob another in AUS/SEA times.
-
We pulled some up at Kidd's mid day to test some things out and it was on the North West side of North Islet. When we flipped San Iago we had missions all the way up and down that cost line but just picked the first 4 we rolled up on. Yah I think they need to be tighten up in area they drop in a little bit. I should not be doing a mission for another port in front of the port down the coast or other side of an island. Wrong ship
-
I think 0% is best, as much as I feel for the SEA players if you didn't get a port flipped by server down time you really need to start over cause we should n't be having port battles exactly when the server comes back up. So if you have to start over on the grind than you need to take the hour or two to flip it and get a good time. I like this too cause than we can run hostility up on ports just to get OW fights and not worry about some one necro flipping it when your off line to lock in ports from being able to have your 3 port battle per day. Though I think since you listed this is all clan base than the 3 limit should be per clan not nation.

Might want to go look t your trade ships again buddy.....yah noticed that they aren't unlocked any more. The other thing I noticed I had zero xp and I know I have hunted other traders in my Board Fit Trader hunter LVG.
-
For us smart players that is. You be surprised how many folks we get into fight and find they have no rums or they only carry a repair or two. It's one thing if your solo hunting and want to be fight and fast, but other times it's silly not to have repairs. Or like recent port battle some one had over 300 rig repairs on there Aggy. We (as in my clan and pirates) DO NOT SHOOT SAILS unless it's at the end and your running. Well we do demast, but 300 was way over board for a port battle. Though the guy had zero rum on board.. We all ways carry enough to restock up all your crew. Like I said above that is us, not every one does it. It's one of the reasons I love catching traders with my Privateer....99% of them don't carry guns or repairs. So just got to take your time and stay on the stern of LVG's and Indimans that are over loaded and you get a fat prize.
