  1. Hah! I've been doing this since I hit lvl 50, just clicking ships to get speed. Even 8 notes to get what I want would be dirt cheap compared to what I have now. It is a grand design thing. Are ships to be magical (which simply leads to very frustrating RNG clicking) or should we be able to design them? This whole frustration can also be fixed by taking out speed (and strength) entirely or making even built-ins side grades. At this point I don't care what option is picked as long as perfect ships aren't subject to RNG or just brute grinding. I don't want the best ships to be reserved for the select few. I want casuals to be able to afford perfect PVP ships. I'm a bit worried about big clan and lvl 50 crafter royalty class. Consider this, a perfect trinco or connie has consumed more resources than several santis in my shipyard. Perfect ships shouldn't be at the end of the rainbow, it leads to pain and silliness.
  2. Loved that to bits too. All I want from this game is pew-pew, I'm that simple. I don't need ANY content apart from that. The fighting part of this game is so good it makes me cry.

    Blueprints

Sorry, but you only get to keep rank and grinding level. At some point in the future we will all be wiped of blueprints.
  4. My bad. Misremembered. I wanted to see how much trouble the Gros could cause against MG's Essex or trinco.
  5. Love the duel room too. I would actually like to arrange duels disregarding BR. Tried to see how Essex would do against a trinco, no BR go.
  6. I agree it is a bit crap. 2 min timers allow for things outside of vis range and with good wind to join a battle. 1 - 1.5 is truly WYSIWYG.
  7. Sceptical. New guys need help and not even stronger vets.
  8. I get that. But how does that relate to solo play? Break out the crayons and paint me a picture, slowly.
  9. This looks good, among the aesthetically best.
  10. I must admit I don't think I understand what I'm asked here. Maybe I need to be spoon-fed the relation between idle gain (?!) and solo play. I'm in a tiny clan that very seldomly team up but mostly hunt solo and do duels. We have minimal interest in big ships and die on the inside at the very concept of PVE. We work together on the resources, mats and crafting bit because there is no other way of securing the best fighting pixels. Someone else is enjoying that part, we're not.
  11. The way I read admin's OP it is a way to make big ships more expensive, just like what happened when they introduced carriages. And unless you're a 1-dura fool it sounded like an one-off thing. So it sounds fine to me, especially since it pushes the burden on the captain and not on the poor crafter. It's fine if it pushes the game into more boarding. I guess it's a matter of taste but I find the hull bashing uninspiring. It requires more thought to disable, decrew and board your opponent compared to depleting hp bars. (I'm aware some people feel otherwise; I usually get yelled at when I "lose" the HP race but end up boarding them with a crew advantage..."Fight like a man!" and all that...)
  12. I did what admin outlined, ground up to Connie rank, now I'm ignoring bots and the grind entirely. A certain percentage of players that could have done PVP are avoiding that in favor of the almost complete safety of bots. I'll never love loss because of this.
  13. I've said it before: I'm no fan of mystery or RNG.
  14. I actually go for all longs, Since PVP matters and nothing matters for PVE. I have a perfect trinco without slap-on speed trim. Gonna go check GUI speed... K. fir trinco with golden built-in speed + copper is listed at 12.86. Slap-on trim should bump it over 13, but it gets silly. You then have a reno killer, but that's pretty much it.
  15. It's unrealistic for sure. But it's great to be able to go fight without having to get back to friendly waters after each brush.
  16. I have no strong feelings either for or against BR ratio limits, I'll leave you to fight among yourselves on that. Just stahp with asking for longer join timers. The 2 min timer we have today is slightly above max we can have before the OW turns into a perpetual Trafalgar lobby. I don't care if you want to help your buddies, if you're not there in (accelerated) time and space you're not in.
  17. OP updated with Le Gros Ventre.
  18. That sounds cool and all but is not how it works in Naval Action. 1v2 is already a tremendous challenge that the lone guy, whatever skill, usually can't pull off. 1v3 pretty much noone can pull off. Skill does allow a surp to kill a 3rd (as an example) but only with a pretty wide skill gap. A smaller group can also kill off a larger group but the 1vs thing is the hardest, even if they don't know any fancy moves they can still spike you fast enough to not make your moves amount to much. 1vs1 is baseline, as you say. That's why I like it so much.
  19. I bet we'll get stuff later. I'm just happy they threw it in, I've waited since ST closed for this.
  20. Not all of us role-play.
  21. I get what the others are saying, definitions vs. opinions. But I get what you're saying too Mayhem, you're just defining what you view as good PVP and on that account we absolutely agree. We're also getting duel room soon so we can have good PVP without working our asses off and getting tricksy with various OW mechanics to make it happen.
  22. Paverazzee?
  23. Nice stuff! Maybe you and I should set up a shared sheet for the speed values? Then we can fill in the holes and cover more ships... Think about it.
