  2. At least the 3 slot thing will happen.
  3. A lady doesn't kiss and tell! We both let it fizzle out due to us being on different servers. Too much hassle for low-brow dick swinging.
  4. If the plan to make golden ships truly rare works, you won't see fine woods in any meaningful quantities on the open market. There might be some fine fir, oak and teak out there eventually, but the stuff players really want; live, cedar and mahogany not so much, if at all... ever.
  5. Freeports don't drop regional bonuses.
  6. You are right, not all players will sail perfect ships. Which is very good for me because my friends and I are about to be able to poop out spitzenklasse perfect ships and keep on doing that as long as we care to. Draw your own conclusions.
  7. Should we focus on stuff that is being phased out?
  8. <giggle> You're basically saying that the devs should answer to you, then the next guy and in a few weeks another one. We don't get that level of entitlement even if this is an open development game. Look at the post above this (Chimera) and see that a normal player paying attention knows the answers to your rigged questions without being told directly by the devs. Don't mean to be overly grumpy, but your post came across as a big "Have you stopped beating your wife?" question.
  9. Sure we can talk about this, but first: There are several ways of loving this game even for people with wildly different interests and tastes. Some people role-play and use the OW and even (boring) time spent hauling to let the suspension of disbelief happen. Some people are history buffs and this little game is the best representation there ever was. The winning the war guys can get together and plan conquest. There are even guys who love the economy bit, god save their souls! The above doesn't mean much to me. I'm really a planes guy that has played WoT the last years due to pretty good PVP. I came here because someone over at tanks told me there was this upcoming sailing game that held promise to become a skill based PVP game. I love this game because the fighting mechanics really are world class, I would place NA among the two best fighting mechanics games I've ever seen. What the funk do you need to love a game?!
  10. Aerial recog of Bermuda today by a... um... bird?
  11. pfft! Only to those who think indiaman with fleet is protection.
  12. Come here, maturin, baby!
  13. Guilty as charged. We quickly found out the economy will never let fighters have the best toys (unless secret and unknown future changes), so I took it upon myself to carry that cross. Am I appalling to you now? Will you ever even touch me again?
  14. They've done that before and concluded noone used the 1 dura ships, so nothing new under the sun. The conclusion might be different this time, though. At least I'm not underestimating how much of a hard-on people have for new and, well, exclusive ships. Thank you for understanding the point I was trying to get across. Yes, this is me exactly. ... If you are a man of your word I will clear my schedule and duel you so you can demonstrate how a hero in a normal ship can cap the golden ship of a ganking-coward-carebear-elite player. PM me here, in-game or on steam, same name and same avatar. I am a man of my word.
  15. Interesting that the regional bonus is blue... Is it subject to RNG or always blue? I guess the brits will vote on how important speed is tonight.
  16. That might happen as much as anything else, but there are no hints from the devs at this point as indication. It's a good thing the majority are content and happy about eating crumbs while a small elite enjoys the best in large quantities.
  17. Your best, um, hope is to get them while while they're afk with a keyboard macro. I bet the whole thing on people not having the motivation to sit way out in the ocean for hours to maybe once a week catch a trader. As long as I'm at the keyboard no ship has any hope of catching my custom hauler.
  18. Game-Labs knew exactly what they were doing when they put the best wood type in Flatts. Suddenly that previously all but ignored little spot on the map receives more attention than any other place, factoring in how inconvenient it is to go and operate there. The minute there is a negative to balance cedar to the common wood types is the minute Bermuda dies again and fighting stops. As long as cedar is OP I will continue suffering inconvenience getting hold of it, apparently I'm not alone
  19. The race is put there to make people fight in spite of the risk of loss.
  20. It's not like Teak and Mahogany don't have oils in them.
  21. Shit, shit, shit... So, make ships in Bermuda and get double stacked speed built in?
