  1. ?
  2. Performance is fine and diff from live map is almost imperceptible. I'd pick the higher res map.
  3. I'm curious as I haven't tried them all. X-Plane has the only decent model of ground effect but is there any sim that models wake turbulence? Most sims even have very crude and painfully obvious scripted departure (stall, high or low speed) behaviour.
  4. Ooooh, fun.
  5. Oooof, yes, forgot about that. When we had duel room ships started so close we usually came to an agreement to separate first in order to have a fight instead of just crashing info each other in the race for position and wind.
  6. Hasn't been tried. The idea sounds perfect at first glance. Just know that people like to be able to escape and counter-tag so there would be butt-hurt and resistance to something like this, especially after enough people have experienced being the victim.
  7. Some of us have taken it upon ourselves to help with that so that devs don't have to spend time with such little things. You're so naggy I almost want to hold back (on what I've already posted). sigh
  8. Since not everyone's aware; Here's a graphical representation of the ship speeds:
  9. I loved the duel room. If it came back I'd just sit in global chat and go "duel anyone?". In a loss-less environment that doesn't hurt anyone, but in OW where we need to coerce and incentivize players to risk their stuff to the gankbox it may not be harmless?
  10. Sold! Don't need to hear more
  11. So strong upgrades tilt the scales too much? I'm shocked! Too bad none of us have spoken up against this.
  12. You don't have to rely on belief, you can go out and test this. We've done this many, many times. Edit: You don't get any dissonance from this? "gear is a way to tune a ship/setup to a play style" "My 12kt teak/wo bellona goes 14,4kt in batte"
  13. The concept of stealing wind or rather turbulent airflow for the leeward ship has been discussed. It was decided it was too much of a tool for griefing. Keep in mind flight sims don't model wake turbulence, most of them don't even model ground effect.
  14. This picture is heavily and inelegantly edited, tho. I haven't been in the Caribbean, but I've been to the Canaries, north and south Mediterranean, the Red Sea and "the Gold Coast" Africa. I've actually sailed from Tenerife to Lomé, Togo. Sun and sea makes a distant haze more often than not.
  15. Toto, calm your tutu and tatas!
  16. Did it happen pretty much right before the ship would be sinking anyway, or earlier?
  17. Even so, nothing is harder for me than to do that "simple" thing. Weird, innit?
  18. I've never seen such a need to incentivize people to fight as we experience here. Whatever can you mean? Leaderboards are in, but please, leave the loot and rng drops in OW. The open and passive aggression towards Legends fascinate me.
  19. Yes, you need to set boundaries for your toto, Toto.
  20. To compound the issue; The really good mast mods are somewhat rare and expensive and the same goes for the good pen mods.
  21. I heard it through the grapevine... it's been added to some list.
