You'll find posters who go "There is no grind" and "Equipment doesn't matter". I used to have the privilege to be associated with the best PvP players in NA a long time ago. We dueled all the time. They would break off a duel if I had made a stupid choice in mods or perks. Mods/books matter way more than ships, still does. I wouldn't seek out PvP in a bookless ship, it's suicide. I have done it (hello @rediii!), but I'm a silly person who make silly choices, especially when all this OW non-pvp gets me and I get desperate for quality PvP. Check again, they patched it. Patrols are my go-to thing even in their current inane pro-gank form

About the same time as you, based on OP timestamp, I went afk and had some code for notifications on screen instead of the website when I got back. Just one line of code. Refreshed and page came back, did not think much of it. Chrome. -

If the book collections stay in game but are wiped from my account I will take a big hit in my feels. If the ship knowledges have to be wiped I'll shed a few tears but hopefully I'll manage to some extent. I won't like it, tho. I should have known better but the grind to get competitive was of such a character that sense went to the wind and I'm now vulnerable. I would love to be spared facing those grinds over again. #justbeinghonest -

(PvE has always been better as far as rewards, xp grind + cash / time is concerned) _________________ People have been so tired of my shit as I've spent literally years bitching and complaining about PvE. It is a personal problem. I can't say how few or many, active or awol players share my particular antipathy towards PvE. I bet some wonder why it's such an issue for me? Motivation to play. I absolutely adore the PvP fighting part of this game. Having to PvE to get cash, marks, doubloons, mods, books is eroding my motivation and critically so. I have done and still do anything I can to bypass, fast-track, "cheat" and minimize my PvE exposure. It's not because I'm an asshole; I'm trying to stay afloat here.

Cool, I tried the "Get position" thing. It was great! I felt the need to increment the dialog distance in single steps and not only by fives as you can do with scrollwheel or up/down arrows to the right. Is it possible to keep five increments with arrows while scrolling in ones with the wheel? I imagine it would make it quicker to use when you have set the distances and want to update posit after sailing.

Well, a given trader could be inbound or outbound no matter it's direction, right? I guess those few mass consuming ports mainly have inbound traffic?

Hmm... I hit two traders yesterday in the hope of looting doubloons to pay for my teleport decadence. Two traders without even as much as a rat onboard. I lose patience with bots quickly, so I've settled on a different source of doubloons. Anyway... I've seen people write that you need to clicksink a ship in order for the doubloons to appear in hold; I dunno if this relates to warships, traders or both, or if it even is true. Admin wrote somewhere you have to switch to the captured ship to access the (hidden) loot. I may have misunderstood. I'm sure many here have tested this thoroughly and could advice us how to loot and which bits are misunderstood.
