Forthcoming changes in the next testbed patch
admin replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
We never blamed users for bad ideas. This is an untrue statement. We always welcomed user ideas and actually implemented a lot of them. The only thing is that in product development no-one knows that idea is bad in advance. All ideas that are developed are developed with the assumption that it could be a good idea. If you have the powers to see the future you can become a multibillionare, because if you can easily see bad ideas from good ones you should trade software or video game company stocks and make a lot of money -

Final goal of what? We are removing teleports because we believe they are a mistake. The final goal awalsy is and was to make open world better. Every change was done based using our ideas or player feedback or proposals (fine woods, smuggling, alliances, ship transport). We allowed players to co- design the game to make the game better. Everyone (even those who proposed silly things) wanted to make the game better. But its not easy - because not everyone knows everything. Of course some players might say different things. Some players might say we did everything to ruin the game. And all the good features were done by mistake. PS. sea trials game was a lobby based age of sail shooter that will be launched withing next 24 months as a separate game.-

Forthcoming changes in the next testbed patch

No. Last 12-14 months shown that it impossible to combine balanced session based sea trials (which everyone loved) with open world sandbox (which a lot of players loved too and still love). So testing was extremely valuable and eye opening. As we said before, failed experiments are great experiments if they give data. And we did test a lot of things over last years. Now we do a couple of final experiments. No quality of life (teleports) for free is one of them. But regarding the chat - we made the decision. Players react badly to losses in battles (especially with removal of 1 dura ships and more expensive first rates). We see how some players react when you dont like something on the forums, why should we trust community and keep the chat? The community response (posting dying animals and other crap) is a proof that chat must be removed. .-

No - we are not the only one. Majority of modern pvp oriented games have limited chat or limited communication. http://forum.worldoftanks.asia/index.php?/topic/69004-all-chat-removed-game-feel-peaceful/ -

You don't understand what the second group of players want. They want to remove ganking, want realistic distribution of fleets in battle and dont want to sail. We are no longer in position to satisfy their needs. Ganking, sailing and OP fleets will remain in the sandbox game. For the e-sport we will make another product. We are not removing fun. We are removing things that make the game worse. Some players think removal of those things is bad. But they are mistaken. Its ok to be mistaken. (like people thought trains will never be better than horses) Removal of chatting with enemies is the best idea ever.-

Another game will not have open world. What do you mean stuff we are taking away. I dont get it. We are taking away the unnecessary lobby based content which was only kept for EA and its removal is overdue. -

no. Testing shown that it is impossible to combine two audiences into one. There are 2 groups of players 1) Who want balanced battles in similar ships with no gank and no time wasting (experience related) 2) Who want an experience with ganking, conquest, trading and vast open world. We will make 2 games - one for each audience.-

Features we are removing were never advertised and are not a promised part of the game. Realistic experience as promised. We always deliver on what we say and promise in public. regarding steam refunds - http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/ and http://store.steampowered.com/earlyaccessfaq/-

This is an official thread and all statements are repeated in the main post. There are no quick decisions here. Most of them required at least 12 months of data. Players want 2 games not one. We will give them two games. This game is about open world and age of sail experience (including honorable behaviour and respect to enemies)-

You should not jump to conclusions so fast. Market deals are easier to trace + they will have to use market prices. For example if someone on the market is buying iron at 1000 how would you trade with an alt at 1? -

you sail the ship. Even from national to national. If you read our statement in the first post carefully you will see there is a potential to to ship transfers for marks (so someone must spend time in the OW so he or someone else can get access to a convenience feature). But-

The game was never sold as a communication platform and diplomacy was never part of the original promise (chat was never part of the promise). Diplomacy was an experiment based on the player proposals and was also never part of the original promise. We never intended players to communicate with enemies and thus remove this feature (partially solving a lot of alt problems as it will be very hard to trade with alts without + in chat) -

Some resources will remain rare.. but remember we will be actively reviewing economy on the daily basis after the patch to decide on the final distribution of resources and average income and costs of operations of the fleets. So we dont have a final answer on the live oak. @Jeheilhad some good ideas on the redistribution which could be tested-

I have seen a couple of port battles on the streams (DK/SWE vs Western alliance) - they were pure trolling from both sides. No ethics, no honor, no gentleman behaviour from many captains and no attempts to stop it from the rest. People just called each other noobs, idiots and trolled non-stop. Such behavior does not deserve a global chat.-

TS with them. In game no. We have no plans to police inter-state communications any more. And remove them completely as it seems nations cant make their member behave. -

for majority of frigates (after wipe) you wont need to move from your region. For lineships you will have to do some effort. Remember that a first rate in EVE takes 44 real time days to build (real time days!) and requires a lot of hauling and it works.-

нужды всех страждущих сложно удовлетворить к сожалению (в этой игре). Подписку врядли а вот фритуплей можно попробовать (с премами и анлоками) так как основное что украшает море это паруса нубов молодых специалистов - и приток их подпиской не поддержишь
