  2. It will fix nothing. It's like reducing everything by 1kn. All stays the same just 1kn slower.

  4. Isnt that the real definition of pvp? I mean i cant believe that in any pvp game the other side want me to win^^ The problem is not the spawn every day. Its that those ships have no value. They create yolo playstyle like the basic cutter before ROE change or recently in the patrol. I am not sure yet what breaks the herc. The totaly awesome turnrate of the ship I havent encountered yet. But maybe i am just spoiled by the xebec turnrate. She is not low like niagara but she is short. Which makes her hard to hit in a different way and is a huge advantage vs long ships in a short range combat. But that applies to many more ships. poods make her a beast with fast reload but poods are broken on every ship ofc the 18pd/poods are a huge advantage they can pen other shallow ships at most angle.
  5. The downside of this mode is fake. Losing speed upwind for a ship that's not designed to go upwind is fake. And by the way it is around 15% speed boost compared to 5 to 8% upwind speed loss. Which again only kicks in below 45° and is not important. To make it more obvious it's like giving a car nitro who cares about the extra weight?
  6. I can do that in a prince as well. It ain't new. What is new is that now majority started to use this ship. Before such low br ships were no real ships. A real ship is 3rd up to 1St rate that was the player mentality. Now xebec is a free ship - click and yolo. Free beer is always good. And WE asked for it.
  7. That's true. Before it was done with bellonas. But that was fine because it was at least 25 pvp marks. Now it's click and yolo. No regrets. To give a comparison it's like air rb turned into air Arcade. YOLO in and get as many marks as possible. Like basic cutter in patrol... But yes we players wanted that. "I don't want to do eco" now it's possible. Click and YOLO and repeat like in any other moba game.
  8. Hard but not impossible like with the current design. Players always find the sweet spot. Surprise -> Wasa -> endy -> bellona .... A Spanish rig on a bellona or p frig is as broken as p rig on a xebec and there is no way to fix it other than removal of those mods or changing the system.
  9. We can be glad that majority don't understand how to manual sail her and sail her at full sails do I need any mods for the herc to make her turn good mine just turns Okish.
  10. @vazco Thats an example for the wrong reason. prince privateer can do the same even surprise could do it back in these days. thats what i wrote about the xebec before she was out as premium: I am on your side that those ships have to change but not because of some reasons people bring forward here in the forum
  11. I can spam a prince every few secs. Is it broken as well? I can get a prince to 250 as well is she broken? (niagara even higher) Tbh herc was fine as she first got in and had reduced crew. Reload was slow. But we had those people that wanted to reload both broadsides at the same time. Let us not look a poods. they were always broken
  12. Le Req is changing the game! Title says it all. Meta changed now lets find 110000000000 reasons why it has to be nerfed so I dont need to adapt and overcome. True there are some broken things about the xebec but not the ones that get menionted loudest. Because whats really broken on the ship would effect other ships as well.
  13. that makes no sense. Nothing changed to the ship just limitation. Thats hypocrisy both have one thing in common. they exploit game meta at their time. But the reasons most players mentioned here why the ship is op are just wrong. Its op because xebec still has no fixed sail dmg only center shots dmg the rigging Its op because crew dmg is not working correct (graping the side) - beside the fact some players just dont know how to rake a xebec. Most just shoot like in the picture below only guns have a crew hitbox. Its op because 1 mod change the ship without effort to this sailing profil Its op because the side thickness is way to thick for its bouncy hull shape which let it look like a tank of the sea But its not broken because it can hug ships. Every schooner could/can hug. If someone wants to claim that pls mention prince, privateer niagara there as well and dont start to blame herc and xebec alone. etc
  14. the problem here might be that dlc content has to be available for players. Hiding them behind ingame walls might be against steam dlc rules. but found no source so far.

  16. That why i porposed hard numbers. Currently a pirate rig can be fine on the privateer but the xebec just goes rocket. Its because balance between those ships is hard because of the different sail areas. Hard numbers would change that and allow every ship to be unique but still balanced. Other way would be to make the current force mods depending on the ship they are used on. For example the privateer would get 5% more force but same mod would do only 1% on xebec
  17. like ramming ship and get no crew injuries like replacing the whole mast at sea like doing 15.5kn like finding encyclopedias like screening fleets that suddenly sail through the whole map while port was actually empty like buying stuff for 30 million like....

  20. the negative is you change your profil. you get bad upwind while you become good downwind. where is the issue? Its not possible to change them at sea. Only in port
  21. the proposal is about to removing them and giving those mods hard numbers that even work in ow All i read in your first post is that you want all 3 profils at one time and depending on the situation able to use them

Prologue What I think is the intention of physic mods like "pirate rig refit", "spanish rig refit" and their elite counterparts is that the sailing profil of ships can be changed in some directions. More to the upwind or downwind part. Litte video for better understanding. What do the mods wrong: Looking at those numbers it becomes clear that some ships have a bigger advantge than other ships by manipulation the sail force. Those mods start to create uber-ships changing sailing profils from the yellow line to the violet one. The intention of those mods is reasonable and ok but not how its achived by manipulation the force. My proposal: Instead of force change mods every ship should come with 3 pre designed sailing profils. A upwind profil a default profil (current one) and a downwind profil. Those profils can be enabled by using a ship knowledge or mod. Example: yellow = default / red = upwind profil / blue = downwind profil ( ofc values are exaggerated for better visual understanding) When i equip the pirate rig refit I enable the red profil When I equip the spanish i enable the blue profil When i equip no such mods i get the yellow default profil Pros: Easy balancing no ridiculous effects still ship customization no manipulation of the fsailforce strength and therefore smaller ships dont mutate to tug boats solves the problem of slow ships in ow but fast ones in instance therefore reduces tagging annoyance Cons: Lot more work for devs crying meta freaks
