  1. The video streaming option through Steam does not work at this time. Try it again when Early Access starts and let us know. The general theory is that it is not released yet, so it's not available to stream.
  2. Please use the link that Mr. Drummond has posted, thank you!
  3. You should do pretty well on high I would think. That, however, depends on any number of factors.
  4. That's a pretty safe assumption. The map will, however, be reset to default, it will not remain as it was when the servers shut down.
  5. There will not be any new nations next week. Nations are status quo for now.
  6. You may look on Steam sometime on or after the 21st. Naval Action hasn't released for Early Access yet.
  7. When they're ready. A problem between now and then could mean they don't go up on the 19th at all. This isn't a question that can be answered with any reliability unfortunately.
  8. Mr. AKD is correct. Tribunal is no longer for chat violations - chat violations should only be reported by right clicking the offender's name in chat and clicking the Report option. F11 will not do you any good, that is for reporting bugs. Thank you.
  9. Ping times are extremely dependent on your route to the server. Please run a PingPlotter and see if there is a node between you and the server that is acting up.
  10. In the open world are there actually things to do? Can I (or is it planned) own anything other than ships? Are crews personal or for that matter are there even crews at all? Right now, you can sail and fight, you can buy and sell resources, and you can take those resources and learn how to make ships, crafting them in Outposts that you may open (for a fee) in any friendly or neutral port, or free town. At the moment, there are no crew or officer features (though you may set your crew mode to a particular setting to enable faster reloads, pumping and leak repair, sailing to increase speed/turning, or to get them ready to board and capture another ship). We've heard that specialized officers are on the list, but they haven't been implemented yet. No word yet on crew management (such as in the Silent Hunter series). is there exploration and the ability to ever leave the ship? things like that or as of now is it just roam a vast open sea and attack people on occasion with no provocation. Exploration is planned, but think of it more like a resource management game, clicking a button to send a group off into the wilderness to search for something. Currently there are no plans to implement Avatars - an individual that you can use to walk around and interact with things. Maybe if the game is successful one day. For now, you craft, or roam the open sea attacking people and AI. Whether or not you're provoked is up to you.
  11. Mr. Splat has created a new poll with some extra questions. Please move the discussion over to that thread - it's located here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/8329-pirate-mechanics-vote Don't forget to vote again!
  12. Actually, it's not: But, we'll just have to pay attention to Admin said above - don't use a login/password pair that you care about.
  13. The password has to be hashed after it is put into the web form. Either that is done client side, which means human readable script (which would include your salt and obfuscation technique) in the web page markup itself, or (and this is usually how it is done) it is performed server side, which, if you're not using SSL, means you're sending the password in the clear.
  14. Here's the problem. Either you're hashing on the client side, which means anyone with half a brain can reverse engineer the hash, or you're hashing on the server side, which means you're still sending the username/password in the clear. Brigand has a very good point.
  15. Good evening Mr. Dresarian. We have a very long and healthy thread on people's favorite music, complete with links! Please continue the discussion here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/5396-what-music-while-playing-naval-action/
  16. Doubleshot has been removed from the game for evaluation and potential rebalancing. It is no longer an option until further notice.
  17. That's good to know! I'll point it out to Admin. Thank you.
  18. This usually means that you chose a server other than the main PvP server. The PvE server shares the rank/XP and characters with the PvP server, but not the assets such as gold, ships, etc.
  19. Please read the thread and then continue the discussion here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/1629-name-plates-ship-naming Locking as a duplicate.
  20. This is definitely not intended. After it crashes, please, instead of launching the game itself, choose the "Send Crash Reports" option so that the Devs can see the logs from your most recent crash.
  21. Please start the game in Steam, and select the "Send Crash Reports" option instead of starting the game. This will send data to the developers that may help them figure out your problem. Are you running Antivirus software?
  22. Please follow the instructions in this thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/2892-technical-problems-reporting-guide-known-issues-and-their-solutions/?hl=data+corrupt#entry135368
  23. And I absolutely knew that this would be the response to what I suggested above - and it's a completely correct response. As is the response that even at the end of Sea Trials 1, with no Open World to speak of, there weren't a lot of people playing the arena-style matches.
  24. My personal opinion is that Events should effectively mirror Sea Trials 1. Separate XP system, the ability to go all the way up to Santissima, no need to even own the ship in Open World, but absolutely no bearing on Open World itself. You get Event XP from damage done in events, which grants you access to more ships the more XP you earn, but in Open World, you have all the rules there currently today, independent of Events. This would allow GL to make SOL's very hard to get, very expensive, and very rare, but still allow people the opportunity to earn them in Events and play with them there, where they won't affect the larger game world.
  25. As far as I know this is correct. Keys are now once again being sent once per week.
