  1. 100% true. Too much flight sims taught me 2 things - time to destination estimation and navigation by landmarks. NA is way easier than having to mentally fix 25 landmarks for a flight route and making marks on a kneepad.
  2. Thank you for clarification. Just wanted to make sure we consider everyone sitting in front of the PC playing NA is a gamer, no matter his/her "mechanics" or "genre" favorites.
  3. What gamers ?... there's no such thing as a universal "gamer" is there ? Guys that compete everyday in iRacing have to learn the tracks by practice. Pilots in non modern air sims still have to use dead reckoning and mental calcs of distance and speed. Many milsim infantry games do not have any aids. Players have to practice, learn the maps, locations, etc. Many many gamers that are in NA play games without any markers or gps. Not against whatever, just asking a simple question - who do you mean when you say "gamers" ?
  4. Al'right chaps. We all agree that every capn' has a wife in every port. Let's wait for localization languages and correct formats in our own native language UI. At least we have one important thing in game that affects both genders truly - and that many other games, including SJW games do not. - color blind mode - Locked.
  5. Constitution in game has such a nice feeling in the acceleration and coming to a halt. One has to anticipate the moves, reduce to battle canvas, etc. All other ships should have a similar feeling instead of having the odd "rocket" feeling and brakes. That is a BIG difference.
  6. Jollywood pirates sailing first rates and not sharing a single plunder coin with the crew and not getting removed from command ( or worse... killed... ) Oh wait... pirates... female captains... damn barbarians... This is the Navy sir !
  7. I demand social justice for greenskins.
  8. Exactly. Our "character" is the ship we sailing at any given moment. Not the captain.
  9. Pinpoint accuracy kills more ships than the lack of exact knowledge. Very very very very easy to camp your battle and wait your escape without any risk.
  10. Monday is also female in portuguese
  11. Midshiplady rather than Midshipwoman sounds less cavewoman like and has a nice ring to it.. her...
  12. Given Sun and Moon are not the same gender everywhere... is this even a thing when localization languages come in !? At least in portuguese a Frigate will never be male. Ever !
  13. ingame clock 11:30 - 12:30 if full stop in OW marks, temporarily, the position of the ship ( each new marker removes the previous one ) map marker circle shadow equivalent to view range distance remove F11
  14. Aye, she is a fine veffel. She is, aye.
  15. 10k is nothing. 20k is horizon skyline cut landmass.
  16. It was. Still is with F11.
  17. Remember that the "game toon" ( just to use mmo slang ) is THE SHIP. Any ship, at any given time. A ship is always female And if i'm not mistaken ranks are genderless. A sergeant, a leutenant, can be both male and female, no ?
  18. is this a Q&A or a discussion ? guess the latter. moved.
  19. What if the book knowledge systems are different from what we have now ? I mean... it may well happen.
  20. Stay safe everyone that is going through that stuff. A friend of mine in Macau said they having a rough time.
  21. Planned for September last time we heard, right ? ... but who knows, maybe the wind rotates a bit more than expected and devs have to tack back and forth through the oncoming wind. Cannot deny I am fairly excited with all the listed changes and very eager to see how it all works together.
  22. I don't rvr but when i do i do my job the best I can. Salute to the all the fellows involved. P.S.- Trinc is a "ugly mofo". Good riddance...never again 😎
  23. Stern shots have to be low, very low. Was doing range shots, calmly, into xebec stern at the lowest possible and the effect is visible. Structure gets damaged. There's maybe too much deflection by the shape angle BUT if shots hit that area they will damage. So... Easy to get carried away with a rolling broadside across her stern but do little given all the shots are high and basically just damage the quarter elevated deck ( which has nothing beyond it ).
  24. This i agree, if we change the way DD works and additionally the weatherdeck guns of the boarding ships get locked from shooting - it is cramped by boarding crews. I like to call the example of the 5 vs 75 i posted a while ago in the club, and in truth they get ready for the boarding and were freaking determined. They were going for the boarding, not the shooting. So, as an example, a Privateer set on full boarding and turning the boarding on would be unable to shoot the guns. Or a Surprise would be able only to shoot the gun deck ( not the guns above ). A Agamemnon wouldl be able to shoot the 2 full gun decks but not the above guns. There's a lot that can be done to pull it closer to odd reality possibilities. But Determined Defender, as a concept, is a reality. ... maybe we need Morale to work through the battle and not only "visible" in the boarding....?
