I would have thought if you knew just as entered combat you were fighting a “Pro”. It might make you decide for run for it. Better to find out how good or not a player is when combat. A good way to learn from them too.

This post goes back to the 8th August ! It was one of the first offers of advice I was given. I have been looking back to see who gave me that advice. At the time I confess, I did not really understand why. Even though you gave a few reasons. So having now been playing for 5 months. I wanted to thank you for that advice. I am now aware and understand why you gave it. It helped me more than I realised at the time when I made the long journey. So once again. Many thanks. Cheers 🍻

I don’t see a problem apart from maybe not being able to get the goodies from the exams again for the reasons mention. But. Gulp. I would not want to have to start afresh. All that effort wasted. But each to their own. We are all different. Cheers 🍻

Having joined August this year I found there were between 250/350 roughly on line. The last few weeks I have seen this rise to 300/500 roughly. This is just my observation when looking at the numbers when I am on line. It appears from Nation chat some are players returning to NA plus new players joining. Lets hope the trend continues. I just want other noobs to understand this is all part of the game. They need to stick with it and gradually they will start to achieve. Though there is always a player better than you. Also, No disrespect to those of all ranks who are worthy of their rank.

I have reached the level of Commodore. Haven’t I done well. NO ! I have worked my way up by trading. Mission kills. PVP ect. Now when I see my title when playing NA I have felt rather smug with myself. Until today ! Today I fought (I use the term loosely ) in my first PVP with a number of players on each side. For the most part I found myself chained ! And was mainly a spectator ! Thankfully, no harm came to my allies. But it brought it home to me that my rank means nothing. I may now be able to crew a ship unto 700 men. But I still have a lot to learn in sailing and taking part in larger engagements, especially with larger ships. I like to think I learn by my mistakes. Today is such a day. My allies were very kind to me. But it was a wake up call to myself. Rank means nothing. I now intend to spend far more time in combat. Learning as I do so. I want to take part in more larger engagements. Though I do also enjoy the single ones. This game has a sharpe learning curve. Which I was reminded of today. Though I am really annoyed with myself. I will with time improve. I hope ! It gives you good days and bad. I love it 😍. So any other noobs that are, or will be go through this period. Keep going. Others have no doubt been there too and got through it. So can we. Cheers all 🍻

Re the Rattvisan. Could someone advise me please how many perks slots it has. Is it the normal 3 or does it have the extra 5 I see on some ships. Also please, does it have the port bonuses Many thanks

It’s a very good start. Of corse all players will have their own ideas on list of priorities. But it is a good idea. Thanks for taking the time and effort. I still consider myself a noob. Somethings I am aware of now. But there is plenty of useful information. Some I am not yet ready for. But when I am this gives me a good starting point at the very least. Best wishes

I have put above my own experience of NA. I feel perhaps I’m one of the lucky ones. That from what players are saying it is the case a number of players leave because it is a very steep learning curve. So I agree something needs to be done to keep noobs from losing interest and leaving. However, I personally do not know the answer ! I hope a solution can be found as once the noobs “get into NA”, they will love it. Cheers all.

As a noob. I started in August. I still consider myself a noob. Though I have learned a lot in that space of time. To begin with I “played around” to see what keys did what etc. Did the tutorials etc. I was advised to join a clan. This I did. One that has players on line when I will be and in the areas I like to operate. I am a Flag Captain . Half way now to a Commodore. I have received lots of help from my clan. I like to think I am doing my bit in return to help the clan. Plus others players just starting out. It isn’t an easy game. Lots I do know not. I tend to ask about subjects when I need to know. I know what my current capabilities are. I feel confident in a 5th rank ship. Shortly I intend to start to try a 3rd which I can have. My crew limit being 500. I am enjoying NA. But I do think it is down to being in a clan. It would be difficult if someone tries to go it alone. As the game stands. I’m ok with Pirates and gankers. I have not know any different.
