There is a difference between a game that keeps you coming back and one you'd recommend to a new player who hasn't played 1 min of NA. Reviews are for these type of people. In its current iteration I don't think this game is recommendable to new players and it seems the majority of recent reviews feel the same. I keep playing NA because despite how difficult the recent patch has made certain aspects of the game I've been able to get past them due to being a veteran. A new player will not have this opportunity. The game is not easy to learn. It does not have an intuitive UI that can instruct new players and unfortunately zero tutorials. Dev choices seem to inexplicably be steering NA into being even more of an inaccessible game.

I'd love to. I believe admin made a post in a thread almost 2 weeks ago asking how to get more american players to join and stay. I think I gave him a well thought out response that has of yet not been answered. I tried. take a quick look at the recent steam reviews. Getting kinda ugly on there

Actually we've had several brit clans come over from EU because of how much they're getting beat up and bullied over there. You guys on EU are some bad hombres. Keep em coming guys!

Please use the report function in game, tribunal is for cheating/exploiting offenses. I don't really see anything significantly out of line here said by myself. But while we're here.....the "proof". A little context. This was precipitated upon BLACK members being seen escorting US nation pirate alts into a US PB with the intent to farm marks. Screenshot of a BLACK member discussing the 3 players saying they are "black ops". get the pun? He is obviously aware of the 3 players as pirate alts. We nabbed him after the port battle on his way down from San Marcos, he was in attendance with the 3 alts escorting them into the battle. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=940108326 He was seen running up the US western coast of Florida with several other pirates in the company of 3 HERO clan members on the US. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=940104696 3 US players on the bottom were the "alts" in question. ------ Obviously I'm not going to go through the effort of a tribunal post against an alt because no progress ever seems to be made and it is unfortunately difficult to track. The US and Brit players are up in arms about various mark farming activities on the server and We've been doing out best to try and lead our fellow pvp2 nation members away from any formal alliances to get the fair play going. @admin @Ink can you please investigate into when and where these conquest marks on the 3 characters are being traded to? Ninja edit. Almost forgot to comment on the king of crowns sexist comment, here is the statement from him conveniently a few lines above the screenshot that was not included. The times match up. I abhor bigoted, racist and sexist comments completely. Unfortunately King of Crowns does not. ~ non related block of text removed. stick to the point. no trolling. no spamming ~ the moderation team

Exploits that need Closing

to enter our battle yesterday you needed 5pts. -

You were attacked like 10 days after the patch hit, not exactly off the bat. We're not going to talk to you before we generate attacks. There is no super alliance. Fight us fairly. -

1 alt was confirmed by the main account on his stream, this was well before the battle. all 3 were confirmed by a member of @Sir Texas Sir's clan shortly after in a subsequent battle to be alts and he was aware of their identities. Having submitted a few tribunal threads in the past for similar issues and I am familiar with the investigation process (there is no process FYI), I'm not going to waste my time writing up another one. Suffice it to say, we know they are alts and they were escorted into the battle by fellow pirates. Texas brings up good points about hostility and screening, but ultimately all 25 slots will never be taken up by exactly 25 who did the grinding. In this case some of those very people were screen out by the alt's protectors. We are simply asking for fair play by the pirates. They say they can beat us fairly, I encourage them to do so, if they can. I hope they see the light. -

There were only 23 because the pirates escorted the alts and then screened out some of our players. Pirate alts, BLACK or otherwise, have also been confirmed to be in other nation port battles on the server. Stealing slots and now farming marks. This is sad. Fight us fairly. I'm done here. -

3 US nation alts by pirate members got into the port battle. The alts were confirmed to be pirate by a member of your clan later in a battle after the PB. You/your clan was seen escorting these players up to the battle and then attempted to screened US players out to get slots for those 3 pirates alts. This is some shady shit and I believe a tribunal offense. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/784037287455485118/7AA446E1F2C44EA50E6E0411A5AD2F67E824693F/ Wish list is confirmed to be Jobaset's alt, I believe self admitted on his stream. Brag and bolster about your prowess in port battles, but you, your clan and your friends are resorting to shady tactics to get conquest marks. Shame. I suggest you get with these players, you know who they are. Right now I am one the reasons why there is not an official US/Brit/Dutch alliance again on this server because I believe in fair play and the health of the server. This is not fair play. If those alts are seen in our battles again and I see BLACK members escorting them, my position on the alliance will change. The ball is in your court. Fight us fairly. -
Such is a Lord - An idea
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
ok good, makes it a bit more fair then. I checked out after about page 3 or 4 on the initial thread. I was looking to prevent supreme "lordship" of an area on a long term basis, would offer little incentive to help. -

so the list updates after each PB defense? I don't remember reading this in the other thread. -

this isn't just for screening, but continued protection of that area. If I'm not one of the select 25 who gets marks for a region I really have no benefit to defend it. In fact, I actually have a vested interest in seeing the region getting capped and the opportunity to retake it to get my name on the list. Lets say clan X took the region in the first place and managed to get 25 of their guys in. I'm in clan Y and well, we kinda wanna make our own aggies too. I would just let that region change hands and then attempt to take it back with clan Y guys. In a perfect world clan X takes port 1, clan Y takes port 2 and spreads the love. This isn't a perfect world. Everyone should have a stake in the RVR process, not just the 25 guys in the battle. -
If anyone hasn't seen @admin's post this morning, here it is. Seems like a pretty good idea, but perhaps needs more fleshing out. Had an idea about how to build upon it. Offer captains who have an outpost in the area a pension as well. Call it a coast guard protection fleet money. This would give captains a reason to be in the new areas and make it so it's in their interest to keep it. This would also help smooth over hurt feelings about not getting into the PBs by giving folks unable to make it a stake in the operation as well. Another bonus is it would force people to push further out from the capital areas. The further out your outposts or closer to the action, the higher the pension. An example. Port battle participants get 2 marks a week. Players with outposts get 1 every other week. Obvious cons - players will simply open up an outpost and do nothing with it just to accrue points. Unavoidable, but given the expense of outposts now and the limited amount of slots, this should help deter. Parking alts. Unavoidable. Put a cap on the number of outposts that can accrue. The main problem I see with @admin's such is a lord idea is unfortunately there are only so many battles and so many slots. With a population of 1100+ on EU, a vast majority of the players who want to get into the battles to get marks simply wont. This will help the balance a bit, but still let players who attend the battles to get a trickle down effect. Thoughts?

What about ports taken within the past week. Wil they be retroactive. Most of the battles were undefended and minimal marks went out. -

In theory nothing would change if you defend it. You still keep receiving marks. If this was territory you already had prior to the pension system it would benefit you to lose that territory and then re-take it. AKA port swapping.-

Such is a lord.... part 2
Christendom replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
So in theory a large nation like Spain would allow other nations to take their ports and then go back and flip them. Come take this 3 ports in the gulf for us and a week later we'll take them back. Given how much land they currently own and any available lands for conquest might be risky, this is exactly the method they would need to take to start earning marks. Seems to go against the theme you were trying to implement with the mega patch. We already had one tribunal post in the first week over PB collusion. This system will lead to more.-

Such is a lord.... part 2
Christendom replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
- large clans will dominate the battles. - Spain will absurdly be advantaged. - Screeners get nothing. No one will want to screen and drama for PB slots increases 1000%. - Encourages empty port battles. - I can see the PB abuse already with random alts entering. - Does not solve the problem currently where crafters that don't do RVR simply can't craft ships. ----- This is an interesting idea, but I think needs to be fleshed out a bit further. Perhaps a tiered system of some sort. To get a pension you have to put in some sort of vestment, either by time or activity. so for example... Pension plan 1 (tier 1) - attend 1 port battle. receive 1 mark per week Pension plan 2 (tier 2) - attend 3 port battles. receive 2 marks per week Pension plan 3 (tier 3) - attend 10 port battles. receive 3 marks per week. Something like this-
