Suspected Pirate alt Being Used to Tag Inside Safe Zone.
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
I agree. But I don't think that is the case here. Scoundrel for almost 3 months, zero contact within nation. Seen outside spotting for your crew before. Smells fishy here. The loss of a ship is inconsequential and we don't mind having enemies within (or outside) the nation. I do mind players using alts to circumvent various mechanics before. Let's wait and see what the logs have to say. As side note, King of Crowns and his crew has been known to use a pirate alt in the past to scout. Here it is in his own words. -
Had a low ranked pirate player roll out of Mortimer and tag one of my guys inside the reinforcement zone using an outlaw battle.. He's been a suspected alt for a while, he's usually been found sitting outside Mortimer scouting while this particular crew on the shots below is rolling around outside. Very cheeky. Suspected player in question sitting outside mort in a cheap brig with no cannons. https://gyazo.com/d30ebcf16a3aec757cf2fc98311dd4b8 Shot of the tag and the crew who benefits from it. And he immediately escapes. https://gyazo.com/30f24cfa61239b88ab63f28e1320bbd6 Not a very busy "solo" player. -------- Anyway we can look into who this player has been trading with or something of that sort. Seems to be a bit too convenient that his is just some "disgruntled" pirate player being paid by other nations. It's disappointing to see these tactics possibly being used by renown pvpers.

Technically the safest area in the game would be your safe zone where most of your traders and move crap to and fro with relative impunity. Russia does not have that luxury and went again and created their own safe zone an hours sail away from anything. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You want it? Come take it and put it FFA.

I mean if we must. Admin stated that PVP 1 and 2 would be merged into 1 server named Global and a NEW server would be created labeled EU. One with no restrictions and one with. This was announced well before. Instead the servers were just renamed and not wiped completely of names, clans and friends. PVP2 turned into global and PVP1 turned into EU. PVP1/EU was the dominant server beforehand and remained as such. XP wasn't merged unless you did the cutter thing. Even then I know a couple dozen players that still had their XP screwed up and Admin wouldn't return it. They quit or went back to EU. I'm fully convinced that had the servers been merged and completely wiped Global would of had a better shot. Maybe I'm wrong, doesn't matter now. The "night flips" that EU players lose sleep over don't happen on global. We work with the clans and attack various ports depending on who owns them. We don't attack ARMED (aussie ports) unless it's a weekend and everyone can be on. Vice versa. We attack US ports in our time zone. It works. Both servers seem to have lost the same percentage of their populations, I think its callous to say one server didn't work over the other. If you sell over 100k copies of a game and only have 700-800 players actively logging on a year and change later.....its a failure all around.
-
Global never had 800 players. Seriously it hit 400 once, 1 night. EU had a peak over 1100/1200 players. Global had a peak of 400. We're down to about 150-180 and you're down to about 500-550. Both servers lost at least 50% of their population since the wipe. I'd say the game is failing as a whole and both servers seemed to have lost around the same percentage of their players. You had more to lose, which can be chaulked up to all sorts of things like a poor global server launch, not a real wipe and a few other things we've beaten to death. Math always tells the truth.

Russia vs Pirates - Atwood - Pirates Won Not the best showing from mighty Russia. Fireships firmly trashed our ranks as we allowed ourselves to be pinned close to land sailing in lines and then as we sailed to take the bottom circle downwind even more fireships came in and blew up half a dozen of us that couldn't maneuver in that confined circle. Overall I think our guys individually played well, but tactically giving up the wind and getting trapped in the bottom most circle against land was not the best move. Fun fight though and I was cracking up sailing around the hulks of blown up ships most of the battle. GF pirates.

In the 3 afternoons I've been on EU the global chat has been just as toxic as global. 2 Days ago there was someone going on about white superiority, calling the russians animals and some various other things that aren't worth repeating here. The same old salt is on both servers. Online gaming is always going to be an interesting environment, no server is different from the other. Only one player base here is threatening to quit and blackmail, which just happened to be the same player base that did it last time. I've seen Spain declare total war a couple of times, I don't think anyone should take national news seriously. Majority of the Brits play over on EU, most of the US players play on Global along with aussies. There sure is a lot of fake news going on about who and what global actually is. I feel like you have an issue separating what nation a person plays for and what nationality they actually are. Makes sense given your post history. Anyway, the facts are that the game had it's highest population numbers back when there was a timer system. Primarily because the server could accomodate more players in different time zones. Insert whatever various reasons you want, facts are the facts. Talking with you on the forums is kinda like smacking ones face into a wall over and over. At some point dude, you just gotta stop being bitter. Anyway, we'll all be back together soon enough. Until then, stay salty!

So I'm putzing around over in Russia on EU with the old RDNN/RUS players on DK. On TS yesterday there had to be maybe 10-12 languages/nations represented on the coms, granted english was the common language, with multiple different time zone coverage. It works. The real russians come in, they have a translator. It's no big deal. Most of you in the old Eastern Alliance fought with these types of coms, multiple translators. It worked then. Point being, this is the type of game myself and many others signed up to play and this is the real global experience. Our group on Global also is about as multi national as you can get over there. Couple dutch, german, swede, Brits, Aussie and even a Croat. I dislike how nationalistic and isolationist aspects of this game have become. I remember talking to a couple US players that tried to start up a clan in Spain back on EU before the split and they were basically run out of the nation for being American. I've heard this same tale multiple times now from various people or clans over the year+ I've been playing.....not to mention some of the nasty insults we used to get during port battles with some of those spanish clans. Some nations seem to work well with others, some don't. The game is vastly different than the last time the timer/lord protector system was introduced. I think everyone is assuming that if we have one, we're going to get the other back. Flags were universally disliked and should never be reintroduced. The timers worked fine. Some of you might recall that back when we had the timer system the game also happened to have higher population numbers. It's no coincidence that server that was able to accomodate more time zones just happened to have more people on it. Go figure. The game is different, the focus is more on clans now. The results will be different. Stop being obtuse.

The game would be more lively with a smaller map and less nations....but we can't have nice things. Merge it up. Figure out a way for all players to be happy together with timers. Bring in the PVE lot somewhere in the gulf or the pacific. Hope we make it to launch.

Cabo Canaveral on the east coast would be better IMO. Maybe turn Cayo Romano (top of cuba) back into one as well. Would provide good coverage back in that part of the world.

no one is whining about PB times. We're whining about the lack of people. The 2 do not correlate.

Solution for Empty Portbattles?
Christendom replied to sveno's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Sure, though I don’t play the US anymore so I doubt your comment has the desired effect. I don’t have the affinity for pixel nations that others have in this game, someone might say that affinity harms it more than benefits. I’d say with the current map the US has a right to be there during this time period, more so than nations like Prussia, Poland, Russia or even DK. If we’re going for accuracy that is. I am a proponent of making the map smaller and cutting off most of the US except for perhaps Florida makes sense and there would be no reason to have them as a nation. -

this situation wouldn’t be a problem with more players to fill the map. Just about every problem with the game right now is a symptom of simply just not having a full server. Please don’t add premium or better ships to the “winners” in this game. It’s already difficult for the lesser nations to compete with the Zerg ones ones without alliances. You’ll just drive even more players away. We need more players, less servers, less nations and clan alliances. -

I just want to state for the record that King of Crowns had a shot at PVP tonight, and a shot at sinking myself....his arch nemesis.....and he ran. PVP is out there KoC, you just gotta be willing to fight instead of run. -

Nightflips are out of the game and it's been like 6 months. Get over it. Global's hurting on players, but a higher percentage of our population PVPs and does RVR than yours it seems. Sounds like you could use that fighting spirit on EU. I saw a lot of empty port battles today while spending a couple hours sailing around, sure looks like fun. Frankly it sounds like what you and Sveno are talking about is basically a lobby system for PBs. No sailing, no time wasting....no fun. The advent of hostility grinding and set times for port battles 22 hours later have made this game very routine and sometimes very sterile. While I understand the purpose of the timers, I do miss the organic flow and the hurry up and wait of the flag system. The problem with one very large and very powerful clan basically owning the server is.....no one wants to fight it. You made your bed, now sleep it in. People complained about the flags, people complained about war supplies, hostility was too hard to grind...now it's too easy. Only solution would be to make the missions a touch harder and more importantly have an announcement once a mission is pulled or entered to that nation. ---- Really though, the problem is greater than hostility missions or port battles. We're playing on a map designed for 2k + people with servers of under 600. Even if all 3 servers got merged, we'd still be undermanned. With 2k players I doubt there would be empty PBs or room to grind up a port unmolested. This applies to basically everything. Lack of content, lack of pvp...boring economy. WE NEED MORE PLAYERS. -

Sounds like they need an american faction that fights. Too bad they kicked em off the server. -

sure sounds a lot like the flag system, which your side of the world absolutely hated. This system would disproportionately hurt smaller clans vs larger clans (like yours). False attacks have been a tactic throughout history, I see no reason why they should be removed just to make holding territory more convenient. Don't want false attacks? Hold less territory. Generating a PB is't very difficult, but it also isn't exactly free either. Less nations, less servers and more people would be a long term fix to this problem. -
Shame us as much as you want, VCO showed up for GBs attacks and defenses while we were there, in force. The same cannot be said about GA. Seems like you guys have been stepping back and regrouping since the start. Our dislike of you stems from your clans lack of willingness to fight, fabrication of various things said about our clan...and others, and just the nasty filthy things I've seen come out of Hardy and Dibella. Not very classy. I've seen Hardy and Dibella ostracize a few clans now. First it was SLRN, which doesn't play anymore. Then it was us. Now it's RED. GA's ability to witch hunt is 2nd to none. The most recent personal attacks on the son of one of our members however is a new low for your clan and is not something we're going to just disregard as we have in the past with all of GA's other bullshit. Very despicable.

KoC found his content last night. More than enough I’d say. Gobal doesn’t have much going for it, but we do love to PVP. On a side note, the new wasa meta is a blessing and a curse. It’s far too OP and needs to be balanced, but the ease of redeeming marks and slapping cannons on it can’t be beat. Without it I think there’d be less PVP on both servers. What to do...
