If a merge happened and they were able to return at the ranks they had previously? Sure. Most of the guys that quit didn't want to go play on EU, but they didn't want to have to re-grind all over again. I know a few of the larger US based clans that made up some of the western alliance prior to the great wipe would return if the servers were merged.

Just a personal anecdote. I had several members in VCO that did not have their XP fully synced at the time global launched. A couple simply came back when the wipe hit and didn't know they had to have characters on PVP2 prior, but the rest actually did do the sync and their XP was still screwed up. Zero help from Admin or Ink in getting it restored. The answer was...oh well. Only 1 of them is still playing, the others quit. This is a very common theme on global from clans that swapped over from EU. It happened a lot more than you think. This is unforgivable customer service. Basically anything that was promised to have happened during the global launch....didn't. We were hung out to dry.

Carta was the carrot on the stick to entice them to fight. They won't.

nothing worse than having every group with the same combo of ships. Limiting BR means variety. -

I can act as a ringer if someone kits me up. Otherwise I'll stream and help out Liq if he needs it -
Now now, don’t make assumptions. Anyway. GA has turned down the 5v5. Guess they’ll have to take the port the old fashioned way.... aka have ARMED attack it at 7am on a Tuesday.

GA = peasants. Jeheil confirmed.

I'm able to do both. I can do midday - evenings US time, which would be around 19:00 ish and later GMT. Weekends whenever. -
I'm sure BLACK / Texas would do a fine job and judge the situation fairly. However this little feud is between 2 clans, lets leave BLACK out of it. We have no interest in fighting a 15 v 15 port battle on map designed for 25 v 25 fights. We want to sink you, not chase Hardy around the map. Feel free to attack Carta the traditional way if you feel like going that route. The challenge on the table here and the point of this post was to initiate a 5v5 OW Duel where Cartagena would be the wager. As VSCO is risking everything and gaining nothing but bragging rights, our terms should be met. You've decided to deflect the actual challenge and continue to shit talk, so it seems like you have declined to fight us 5v5 on the OW. Case closed. GA will not fight. Maybe we'll see more than 3 of you at Carta next time. Ciao! Read the thread dope.

Server merge until release
Christendom replied to Christoph's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
If memory serves, population numbers were higher back in the lord protector days. Consistently higher. Now we have spikes on the days with PBs and then everyone logs off. It wasn’t until fine woods and hostility were introduced that we started to see a steep population decline to our current numbers. Port timers were not tested when the entire population was on one server. Coverage would be drastically different if his were to go into effect today. The game is also in a different place than the last time timers were tested. The variables are different and the solution likely would be. Regardless of your opinion on timers, I think everyone can agree that the game did not receive the same bump it did after the great wipe and it’s already starting to slow down. We need more players and until the game goes live and we start getting an influx of new players, a merge is the only way to get them. Remember, the game is still in testing. If one server doesn’t test well, we can split up at launch. -
Server merge until release
Christendom replied to Christoph's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
This thread will probably go as expected. Despite the game basically going dead several times now in the past for want of more players.... the same closed minded EU folks still think an already small and dying game needs to have 3 servers to protect their fragile ecosystems. PVP is dead on EU. RVR is dead on global. Time to merge the 2 player bases, introduced clan selected port timers and have a real game. #merge -
It appears that GA has declined the 5v5 OW duel, as was expected. lol..no show Hardy strikes again. This was your chance to settle a grudge and maybe pick up Carta in the process, guess not. We won't make the same offer again. /thread

Feel free to attack Carta anytime you want and we'll be there. I don't care about losing ports. However, I do want an actual 5 on 5 pvp match to be determined by skill. A 15 v 15 in a 1st rate port battle designed for 25 ships will be a whole lot of running, kitting and moving circles around with very little actual combat. I have no interest in this. Not to mention other variables like other clans jumping in or one of us "forgetting" to remove our friendly clans off our list or one of our clans mysteriously gaining 10 new players before the battle. A PB has far too many variables and not enough fighting. You want Carta so bad? Come and face us 5v5 somewhere in a real grudge match. Winner will get the port. Scouts honor. We're willing to risk a port here, you need to be willing to risk a 5v5.
-
Look again stupid. Lol You're being challenged to a 5v5. Are you declining?

@admin Any news on a server merge or at least some sort of transfer allowing players to swap servers with their XP and stuff? 3 more nations is great........but we need people to sail in them. Global already has a couple dead ones and I hear EU has a couple that are hurting for numbers as well. Edit - this ship towing is going to ruin whatever little pvp there is left in the game. The best chance to find any now is to catch players setting up their ships for that next day's port battle, now we won't even have that.

Actually the only clan here that doesn't honor their agreements would be GA. All those times in the Brit council meetings you said GA would be there (various PBs and grindings) and they weren't. GA would be in the gulf...GA wasn't in the gulf. Not to mention all the various rumors that seemed to come out of GA's camp about us over the past few months. We however honor our deals and I don't lie. It's funny you bring up the cheating thing as I was the only party there not severely punished because I actually had proof backing up my story (and sent in) and my involvement was deemed a slap on the wrist. But you are not one to meddle in facts. Anyway, we're not gonna do a 15v15 PB. There are far too many variables that cannot be controlled and quite frankly watching you sail around in a 1st rate last time at Carta while trying to avoid taking any damage while the rest of your team was sinking the entire fight was kinda boring, I'd rather not have to watch that again. This is right before the battle ended. How very sad. ------------------------- Here are the terms. 5v5 battle somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. We'll have 1 neutral party to serve as witness. Brawl it out. Accept it or don't.

Bring your best 5, we'll bring our best 4 and Governor SKMARSH... It's time to settle our little feud with cannons instead of words in global. Hardy must be there. 4ths or 5th rates only? Winner gets a port? Do you have the cojones?

Cartagena is hereby closed to the general public
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Caribbean News
Governor SKMARSH has decreed that Cartagena will re-open his later this evening to the general public. Situation is under control. -
Format that was going to be used for a Global tournament, unfortunately the game died before it could kick off.

Actually the furniture is fine, I just hate going to the store. They are always extremely busy 100% of the time here in the states.

I've been a big proponent of "rookie zones" or whatever we want to call it, but the current zones are just too damn large. There needs to be a fine balance between a starting area for new folks and older players abusing them. The whole friggen island of Jamaica is one, it's impossible to hunt. Half of the east coast is the same. A good idea, but needs better implementation. A quick and east fix would be to limit reinforcements for players above a certain rank. Lets say post captain. Or limit reinforcements for only Trader ships.
