  1. incredibly stupid. Some EU folks just prefer the game all to themselves. It's a shame really, one of the key aspects in why people play NA is because of how diverse the population is. I wish everyone saw it that way. On the financial side, I can't fathom why admin was running 3 servers for less than 1000 people in total. Luckily he came to his senses.
  2. A major component of the anti-night flip and pro split rants were the fact that some nations/players felt like the spread of US based (aka night flippers) folks was too centralized in only 2-3 nations. US Brits Pirates. Our response was, well so go recruit and make better friends. Now I could see both sides of the coin here, but once forged papers were implemented it was extremely easy to get players to swap factions. The game has been considerably more fluid since. I've been hearing for months now how difficult it is to recruit US players, no one want's to switch, we don't speak enough english....whatever. Same old tired lazy arguments. With the announcement of global shutting down and the merge happening, only a couple nations so far have expressed interest in trying to recruit the players from Global. Most did not. Some even wrote their disgust (rediii) in the lengths the french went to try and recruit from global. All those months the whiners said they couldn't recruit US based players to help balance out their nation......when it came time to put up or shut up, they didn't even try. It's not that they can't recruit us, they won't. Those people can piss off, the game is better without them. Props go out to France, Russia and Poland for trying to use a situation that most dislike to their advantage. Shame on those who did not.
  3. take notes rediii. this is how you kiss some american ass. It's good to see some nations at least attempting to recruit global players instead of just sitting around complaining about the merge....yet those same players used to complain about not having enough US time zone folks in their nations prior to the wipe. Those who adapt survive I suppose. Anyway, I've been apart of REDS for a couple months now mixing it up on EU. @Cornelis Tromp first invited me over for reasons I can't remember and while It was a little weird at first being welcomed in by former foes, everyone seemed willing to put the past BS behind them and just go on playing the game. I will admit though that when the russians get on coms for joint ops I do feel like I'm down in a KGB bunker hacking elections somewhere. I like how REDS doesn't just hide in their zones waiting to be attacked. They're bold, aggressive and not afraid to drop ships. Thought not 100% certain yet, VCO will most likely be joining Russia and fighting alongside the Russian proletariat. One must teach them the art of the night flip
  4. 14.7 is fine enough
  5. I was cleaning up yesterday in a fir fir one, seemed about normal on speed. Doesn't matter because I can demast anything with those 36lbers.
  6. I hate the fact that the wasa is in the game. Upgrade it to a 3rd rate, adjust the BR and make it not a redeemable note. OR nerf it's speed and armament.
  7. Hachis story seems to change from day to day. He told me the other day that North agreed to a 4v4 or something, now on the forums I read it was bigmac. Hachi says he wins fights, but I’ve only seen the back of him so far. This guy I s #fakenews. Reading this thread Is like smacking my head into a wall. Sweden good. Sweden bad. rediii is the next jesus. Yawn Meanwhile racked up 32 pvp marks yesterday on the OW with the REDS guys doin work.
  8. Look who it is!
  9. To my knowledge the spread of global/us players is going to considerably better than it was prior to the split and east vs western alliances days. GB and US already have multi time zone communities, albeit diminished from what they were. Both will receive players from global. Probably more to the US, which is needed there. France will receive a decent about of players that have already committed going there. Russia will also receive a decent amount. Pirates will see some as well. Dutch will most likely see their population increase, though not as much. Sweden (thanks partly to rediii) will most likely see very few. Same with Spain, Poland and Prussia. If the chinese and aussie cans can handle the connection, D-K will most likely get a decent boost as well. ---------- Of course everyone will now have a bunch of forged papers so the populations will become more fluid......but for the time being the spread will be better than some anticipate. I anticipate 4 decent sized blocks of US time zone players in said nations that will liven up the server a bit. However knowing King of Crowns he'll prolly try to ally 3 of them up against VCO again because we're just too damned handsome.
  10. Read the post next time. Thx
  11. [moderated] ...could someone put the insta PB thing in layman’s terms for me?
  12. This has been explained already, but what the heck. Your character on EU will be the "main" one. XP, Crafting XP, Ships, Resources and Supposably skill books will be transferred to you via redeemables on the EU character. If you wanted to rename your character on EU you would have to delete him and remake. Assuming you are max rank on global and crafting XP you can redeem that one the new character and be max rank with all your stuff. Whatever you have listed in your redeemable slot will remain with you regardless of character name until it's redeemed.
  13. 100 people joining the server isn't going to tip the balance. GB and US don't fight each other on global and they don't fight each other on EU. I fail to see the difference really. GB will receive a boost in population that does nothing but grind empty ports and fleets....maybe a handful of OW pvpers. US will receive a much needed boost of players and more importantly some players that like to OW pvp. Sounds like the US is kinda dead anyway, more players regardless of the time zone is better for the nation. EU is just as divisive and salty as it ever was back when I was here full time. Instead of everyone being upset with the Americans now you're all upset with each other. Salt never changes. Instead of 2 power blocks that were more or less equal back then, not there is really only 1 major power that wins every port battle and a lot of smaller fish. To all the naysayers, the parameters of the current merge are different than the last time we were all in the same pond. Clans control ports. BR has made PBs more accessible to even the smallest of groups and more importantly there is no alliance system. The variables of the equation are different than last time and the outcome will be different. Frankly it's disappointing to see so many negative folks get their panties in a twist about ports and pixels that don't matter and will be wiped before release. Chillax people, it's just a game.
  14. I think its more of a fact that US/NA players just had a lack of things to do. For over a year global/pvp2 has been the redheaded stepchild of naval action and while it's had ebbs and flows of population it has predominantly been very low pop and very boring. Limited amount of players = limited amount of content. US players moved on to games that were more amenable to their time zones and never came back. For the past several months US players we unable to do RVR content on the EU server (with all the people) and prior to the wipe and split both servers had the restriction of no PBs after 9pm EST time. This pretty much killed the US player population and it really hasn't recovered since. Hopefully with the merge more players will be enticed back with the promise of a fuller server. As player who spends time on both servers I've found the US players to be extremely stubborn and unwilling to accept change. Most refuse to change nations or refuse to change who their allies are....even at the detriment to the server. Right now there are 3 (5 if you count spain and dutch) nations vs the pirates on global. Basically 75% of the population vs 25%....limiting their content immensely. All because the pirates happen to be the team to beat. It's absurd. Global was a much more vibrant place before the super zerg.
  15. good one. You know where I am, you guys keep failing to take carta from us. I would of been very happy to stay as brit, but unfortunately you guys don't work well with others and you were too interested in taking empty ports rather than fighting for them,.
  16. no the brits don't need more empty ports cap.
  17. I highly doubt it, especially considering you haven't been on global in months. You're entitled to believe what you wish, but don't make the rest of us have to suffer on global because your machine can't handle it. Thanks
  18. multiple people slowing down your game is PC related, not a ping issue. Unfortunately most people are unable to make the distinction. The situation is basically sail around with no one, or deal with a little lag. Me personally....I'm fine with a little lag if i means I can be on a server with more than 80 people.
  19. could you imagine if I went spain?
  20. Britain, too many chiefs that don't know what they are doing.
  21. as someone who routinely plays on both, I do not notice the lag. 70 ping vs 180 ping, really makes no difference in Naval Action. This is from real game play experience, not just theoretical. Let's take @North for example, he's got like 12 ping and he still manages to get boarded like a noob in PBs :-) I do however think that to help the AUS/Oceanic players a server with the same location as global would be more ideal so everyone can have "acceptable" ping. This however might be asking too much of our most gracious and accommodating EU server players just right now. Once they get over the shock of the great American migration back to the server, they might be more open to other things. Think of the merge as just inserting the tip for the time being.
