  1. The above comments are a bit vague, but in essence they cannot WIPE your XP that you've accrued per steam EULA. What they can do is dilute that and create more ranks and make it so you are no longer max rank...etc etc. I imagine they'll do something like Rear Admiral, Admiral of the Blue, Admiral of White.......Sea Lord. Either way, RIP NA from now until release. NINJA edit
  2. Seems like all you do is make deals that get broken. Must not be good at them. Why handcuff yourself so much? If you want to trade in peace just go to the PVE server already.
  3. Haswell architecture isn’t all that different from whatever the current one is (coffeelake?). Intel just wants you to think there is so you keep buying their chips with marginal gains. 5 FPS gain for the cost of a new chimp and board isn’t probably the best bang for buck. Especially if he is running 1080P.
  4. seas are salty today
  5. That explains where Batman went. I know. I miss you too
  6. I'd settle for pirates being different than any old nation. But I can only dream...
  7. Prussia is more powerful than some, but active PVPers does not always make a RVR superpower. If you can counter hostility with 50 captains of even middling ability, you can reduce any threat to your nation. GB can do this. That said, I like having a powerful GB. It's more targets and it annoys the Spanish, which pleases me greatly. I do get a bit annoyed when the usual shitbirds who flock to the zerg nation and get carried talk shit in global. GB has their share of those.
  8. Lars would need to leave the safe zone to do that.
  9. Wasn't that just PVP kills next to the fort. Kinda like GB was waiting for an excuse to do it. Not that I care mind you. The closing or "merging" of nations needs to happen from the devs. Some folks are too caught up in their nationalism or whatever to leave and would rather quit than move. The game does not benefit in this situation. Also the fact that it costs 15 bucks to move doesn't help. Folks have a hard time swallowing 15 bucks for a DLC to change natons in a game that hasn't been released. Just my 2cents.
  10. Having fought them in a number of PBs at night, GB easily has as many players in the US time zone as the US nation. They just don't have an "evening rediii" to marshal the troops at night. They could easily attack your timers.
  11. The point is not diluting GB, the point is filling the other nations not named GB to the point where they have a similar number of players as GB. to the great wipe GBs numbers were countered by having alliances. Now there is no counter to their numbers.
  12. 3-4 main nations - have them be starter/PVE nations that do not RVR, but still do everything else. Create a "catch all" faction that is clan based and can fly various nation flags. This faction fights itself in clan based wars over the 200 or so other ports in the game. Problem solved. I thought this game had too many nations when we only had 8. Now we added 3 more to sell copies of the game. The player pop is too diluted if you aren't in GB.
  13. was just minding my business trying to cap a couple AI when one had a bunch of white oak in the hold, decided to sail it back to saint marys. Nice US gank fleet waiting on the edge of the zone decided to come out and play. At least they got my poor trader..... pro tip - use determined defender
  14. Meme thread boys. Let's leave the timer whinging for the 17 other threads!
  15. I'd prefer minor stuff like this honestly, rather than unnecessary combat balancing
  16. Not sure about urgent mast repairs, but this might be a good idea for fixing leaks. Hit urgent leak repair and your crew automatically goes off gunnery and sailing to fix them. Similar to brace, the ship can’t fire or turn. A Vic or pavel (or even my bellona...) sinking to 50 leaks in 20 secs seems to throw off my realism immersion a bit. Just a thought
  17. that's more like lionshaft
  18. sounds like something the mafia would say
  19. Frankly it's a task I'm willing to do for free. So HAVOC is kinda like the mafia and they come collecting during port battles for protection money.
  20. Little bit of grey area here. I view tagging and keeping in battle in terms of RVR and hostility missions as valid. It’s also a valid tactic to split a fleet up and tag something larger with smaller fast ships. How many minutes constitutes trolling? How can you govern intent? When I first got this ball rolling and illicited the response from @admin “players who join the battle should fight in it” it was to stop players from randomly joining patrol battles and immediately kiting for an hour. Seems we’ve gotten a little out of hand as far as what constitutes trolling these days and every fight where a player runs ends up on tribunal.
  21. Yea I capped a couple that are sitting in the docks for when I want to take some beef...but don’t want to sail home.
