Current DLC model is fine. They are premium ships that are significantly better than anything closely resembling counterparts and quite frankly they should be. I think the requin needs to become more fragile and as in IRL, it should suffer cruelly under heavy cannon fire (especially crew loss). I think the timer needs to be more than 24 hours also and NO premium ships in fleet. I'd also draw the line at allowing them to enter PBs. NO DLC SHIPS IN PBs EVER!

Thinking more on this, I would support this more if clans had the ability to tax their members. In games like Warcraft and Albion, clan banks have the ability to tax all incoming gold received by members of the clan. This funds the clan bank. I agree there needs to be money sinks in the game, but owning the port and paying taxes on that is already a sink. If you're paying to own the port, you shouldn't have to pay to store shit there too.

Only way to improve RVR is to make ports matter. People would capture more of them if they didn't have to PVE to sustain them

No imported DLC ships in PBs ever please. This was the salina point PB yesterday. Pirates did not show because it was going to be an all requin fest. And it pretty much was. Because this is what happened last time they tried Salina Point Simply put there is no way to balance DLC ships vs non-DLC ships in port battles. It's easier to just restrict PBs to crafted ships only. Folks with the requins will just have to settle for being OP on the OW. In my opinion the DLC ships have had the desired effect of improving OW PVP. The shallows are a hot bed of activity now. RVR is dead because only a handful of ports on the map pay for themselves and the reward for winning a PB is you get to pay for it. The system is inherently flawed and discourages continued RVR for anyone but the most dedicated.

You are correct. I however dislike seeing this schmuck consistently get away with things others are punished for. We don't mind losing ships and our fighting was indeed inevitable. We / I lose ships all day to ganks or counter ganks. Every time Koiz ran a battle we knew we'd lose ships. Such is life. But It was a fast one. I "ran" from the fight because I was being chased by Jack's 14.2 Knt Bellona the other way (I was tagged between a santi, pavel and the trinc and couldn't make it to my allies) and by the time I got back the wind had changed and 3 of us were sunk. The game has been slowly moving towards a clan based system with port ownership and lower BR PBs, admin just needs to pull the trigger fully for the game to make a bit more sense. Grudges, betrayal and some good drama always makes for more fun.
