  1. As far as I know you can board the ship without having a fleet control perk, and after boarding you can manage its hold to grab the loot, without taking the ship. I didn't have any fleet control perk in this one:

Well saying ow pvp doesnt provide gold and xp isnt quite right You get xp and some gold for sinking a player, AND most importantly pvp marks, which will probably be worth quite a bit once a pvp-Mark to pve-mark converter gets added. Personally I wont spend a single more Minute in pve missions after having obtained a first decent Ship I can hunt with and look for pvp.
  3. Yes, just noticed that too. First equipped all cannons regularly on my trinc, then once equipp I splitted them so only one was remaining per slot. In battle I still got full cannons.
  4. I tested it. Installed 100 x 18pdrs on a trincomalee, sailed out to battle. Didn't work though. Would have been funny hehe

  7. 15'000 gold per 42pdr cannon. That's 550k to equip a santisima's main deck. Didn't you say you weren't happy about upgrades being way more expensive than the actual ship? Well now that you got rid off them it's the cannons that is expensive.
  8. Is there a certain reason for why there is only a pvp-to-pve converter, but not vice versa? (you can convert 10 pve marks to 1 pvp mark, but not the other way around. So if you wanted to get a L'ocean BP for example, you'd currently have to grind 350 PvE marks.)

  10. Agree. The current max. ship slots is 25, right? So imagine if you wanted to have a good variety of ships spread across your outposts, for ow hunting, for upcoming port battles, trading, or whatever. With multiple dura this task is already kinda hard imo. If you want to have a backup ship for every ship you're using so if you lose one you don't have to sail back to your crafting base and get a new one done, that'll be hard. Might want to double the current max ship slots (not sure about the price tags to unlock the last slots though).
  11. as far as i know you can only buy/unlock them in the admirality store for pve marks, for example extra hammocks (5-6) would mean that once bought and used you can use that extra hammock skill for any 5th and 6th rate. Don't think there is a way of crafting them.

  13. To unlock a ship knowledge slot on a certain ship (e.g. slot number 3 on the surprise) you need to also unlock those slots on the renomee. If you don't, you won't get the additional knowledge slots on the surprise. Knowledge slots are not really upgrade slots, as you cant buy upgrades with gold and drag-drop them into the slots. However you'll be able to choose from a skill-pool once a slot is unlocked. Those 'skills' are basically the current upgrades (effect wise). Can unlock more of those by buying them in the admirality store for marks.

Yea in a 1v1 you could do that, BUT in something like a 1v2, demasting used to be viable tactics to take someone out of the game (once they lost all masts they're unable to move and do anything) so you could focus on the other one first. Can't stay on a demasted ship's stern with dropped sails and finish it in a 1v2 or you'll get raked too.

  17. So instead of 2 minutes it'll take 6, but after another 4 min you could already repair again? I think the cooldown timer has to be adjusted, to at least 15 min.
  18. With the upcoming changes to how repairs in battles work, you will be able to repair both your hull as well as sails/masts every 10 minutes. Doesn't this kinda make demasting pointless? I used to go for demasting in some occasions where I was outnumbered, to take one ship out of the combat as early as possible and to make the battle fightable for me. But now it looks like that won't be a thing anymore, since there is no limits to sail repairs anymore. IMO Demasting should be made a little bit harder but in return don't allow sail repairs to also repair masts. On the testbed, I repaired my sails from 5% to 35% using 1 repair. Can do that every 10 minutes. Might need some balancing Opinions?
  19. I'm in general not a fan of setting a limit to what you can obtain. Admin stated it'd take 2-4 weeks to get a L'ocean, for example, crafted. Should be tough enough for now.
