Based on Feedback I think we should wait until we get to 16 teams total. More battles, and would make it easier for the knockout stage. In that case the group setup will have to be redone. So application is OPEN again.

RULES The layout for this tournament is 3v3 Each team will have to spread their ships to 500 BR - This means all 3 ships of one team can have a max. combined BR of 500, see the community made BR list below Tournament will have a group stage and a final knockout stage - Groupstage will consist of 4 teams in one group, of which the best 2 will qualify for the knockout phase. In the groupstage, every team will fight every team once. Entry fee of 500k per team - Prize money will be split on rank 1st, 2nd and 3rd place of the endresults (50 - 30 - 20) Once the group stage goes live, the teams will be given a certain amount of time to fulfill their groupstage battles. How long this stage will last wil totally depend on how many teams are entering. Groups for the group stage are going to be created using a RNG site Each battle will have to have at least one referee aka. judge in them Battle length is max. 60 minutes Win in group stage = 3 points A win can be achieved by the follwing ways: Be the first to sink all enemy ships (within the 60 minutes battle length) If after 60 minutes there are still ships alive on both sides, the side with 1.5x the BR is going to take the win Draw in group stage = 1 point A draw can be achieved by the following ways: If after 60 minutes there are still ships alive on both sides, but the difference between the two teams is not equal or greater than a factor of 1.5, the battle will count as a draw Loss in group stage = 0 points If, after all battles in the group stage are done, some teams have the same amount of points, the second deciding factor will be how much BR they lost themselves overall in all battles. (The team with the lower BR lost will logically come first.) If this still doesnt decide the winner, a duel between each groups leader in a ship they both agree on to use will decide. In the knockout stage, draws will not be possible - The team with more BR alive after 60 minutes will take the win. If the BR alive on both sides is equivalent, golden goal rules apply - first kill leads to victory Not appearing to an arranged battle will result in an automatical loss - The enemy team will be granted a victory (3 points) and full BR sunk. If the teams battling each other are from the same nation, they will have to join an outlaw battle in order to fight each other - Sadly this is the only possibility. Tagging rules: In order for the battles to be fair from beginning, I think there needs to be a clear tagging rule - This is how I would imagine it to look like: If the teams are positionned like that on the initial tag, no team will have a wind advantage and it will be fair from beginning. Same goes for when we have to make use of outlaw battles (if the teams are from the same nation or a team has members from different nations) - Both teams have to line up as shown above around an ongoing outalw battle and all join on command. Referees / Judges and their availability: Once the groups are decided by RNG, you will have to set a date and place with each other team in your group. In order for battles to count, there needs to be at least one referee / judge inside the battle. Also, please vote in this poll whether or not you want to limit the usage of repairs for each battle of the tournament. Only votes from captains participating in the tournament are valid. DEADLINE for confirming the group and voting on the thread linked above is set to friday, October 20th, 22:00:00 ServerTime. This gives players the possibilty to work on their ships setup and level some skill slots. After every team has confirmed their participation, the group stage will go live. No - I will make a new thread about the group setup, and there ask every group if they are OK with the Rules, if they got suggestions for changes for the BR list and I will ask them to vote @ the repair poll - In the end the rules regarding the repair will be democratic and only counting those votes of players that are actually participating Will set a deadline for that.

1 more slot for now (for a 12 team group stage, where the last team per group doesnt make it to the knockout stage) - unless we want to make it so the last 2 teams per group don't make it to the end stage, then we'd neeed a total of 16 teams But for now there is one more slot available @PIerrick de Badas Maybe you guys want to represent the French nation?

For now its looking like the majority wants repairs to be limited to 1 each. Regarding the other stuff: Woods should not be set to stone. You should be able to go after your preferences and maybe even get different setups in your own team, e.g. a cedar teak fast raking supportive ship and a teak white oak tank. However I agree that there currently are some OP upgrades such as cartagena refit around, however it would be next to impossible for me / us to make sure noone is using none of them. Players could send me screenshots of ships without the banned modules, but that doesnt mean that those are the ships they were effectively going to use. So I guess we will have to live with that. And it's more about actually getting some PvP content to the server, that is not a port battle, for some variety, as small, equal OW PvP actions are extremely rare nowadays.

Well no, the family members can still play the game, and if they were playing just like another player they wouldnt just live for the existence of their other family member and trade everything to them - But rather play for themselves. Some trading would still be allowed, sure.

there's that web-MMO I used to play a couple of years ago where you had to build up your city / military and conquer other clans towns; alts would be very useful there - They made it so if you wanted to use the same IP twice, you had to apply for a shared IP thingy, and then were not allowed to do certain stuff, e.g. only directly trade to each other in a limited amount etc. If you didnt apply for a shared connection, you'd get banned right away

In the nation-selection-screen it clearly states that pirates are the ONLY ones able to attack each other - if you don't like that idea, don't join them

Things I like: Structure bottom-mast-sections being more tough Things I dislike Speed meta (which exists due to there being dozens of speed mods; just remove them all except copper plating (which makes sense) and maybe speed trim with -10% HP, worked out perfectly well before the big wipe) Repairspamming Kite-and-force-enemy-to-use-all-repairs-playstyle Wasa being placed at such a low BR and having OP amarment / armor / speed combo. at its class

wouldnt take 18s on a frigate, way too low dps - and cecilia has 35 more crew so you can use both sides better
