  1. You can currently only have 1 account on any server per Steam account, so this is not an issue. To have alts you need to have another Steam account.
  2. I like the new forum layout, though it's going to be hard to get used to. The only thing is it doesn't "feel" like it's that Naval Action related anymore. It's probably just that I am used to the old visuals, but I miss the banner on top and the old colour scheme that reminded me of the blue of the ocean. And it's harder to spot new activity in topics now as well.
  3. Afaik it hasn't been fixed. It was just my personal opinion that it should be fixed.
  4. The British say that the fights outside are all that's fun. Don't let it be said that the Dane-Swede-Spain-France alliance does not provide: http://bildr.no/image/R1lEcXJ2.jpeg We had a huge force at Savannah ready to bring a good fight. But judging from this picture it's not really what they want, is it? What's up with the many grey Victorys we captured? It is clear that there is no intention for the screening fleet to win battles, but to spam gamey fireships or keep enemies tagged even with no possibility to defeat them, just so that entering the port battle is impossible or delayed beyond winning opportunity. The attacking forces at Savannah won crushing victories both inside and outside the port battle. And there was no actual logging off in front of the port there. The Danish forces sailed up shortly before the battle. They engaged and defeated the unprepared screeners, let the battle instance run for a while, and then entered the port battle. Nobody logged out in front of port. Regarding Teamspeak. Nobody involved with the attacking forces or anyone from Danmark-Norge had any interest in sabotaging communications for the defenders. We are confident enough in our own organisation that we do not need to sabotage yours. In case you ever have trouble with your Teamspeak server again I will happily set up a channel or two on the Danish National Teamspeak for British/Dutch/US forces to have as backup. At the moment, with the current mechanics it is completely necessary unless screeners are completely inept. I am not bringing up Salamanca to say "hey, brits are doing it too!". Of course they did. And they were absolutely right to do so. There would have been no way whatsoever for brits to enter Salamanca port battle without it. Not because Spain had so many screeners, although they did, but because the port battle does not wait for the attacker like it did when we had flags. When we had flags the attacker could choose when to attack based on the wind. Now, unless you calculate the wind 46 hours before and also have full control of when the port battle should start, which only a hostility bomb can achieve, there is no way of controlling your attack anymore. Back before reset, Danish forces were screened a couple of times trying to get to Maracaibo. Finally we managed to organise an attack at a time where we would have good wind through the strait. With the new system, not only does the enormous tag circles ensure that counter-screeners are totally ineffectual, in addition the game forces you to attack at an exact time that you didn't really choose yourself except the general time of day. If the wind is blowing against you sailing into the narrow channel towards Sinamaica, then good luck trying to get there.
  5. Nerf small nations, eh? Britain shivering in their pants already? On a serious note, I somewhat agree. Spending time on flipping ports in empty port battles is wasted time and a pointless activity that should be gotten rid of. Trading ports between allies should become a thing, although I don't really see how this should be implemented. Regarding flipping ports back and forth to keep them invulnerable, that is an exceedingly impractical thing with the reliance of nations on their allies from everything from military support to production with this new system. Nobody has even suggested doing that in any case, as we prefer port battles where both defender and attacker shows up. (And I won't point out who were the only nation to use such a tactic prior to the map reset)
  6. If no attacker enters for 5 minutes the PB is lost automatically. Last I checked the defender could trigger the win by having one captain leave after 5 minutes. You are also right about no port being possible to flip at the moment without attackers taking measures to guarantee a timely entrance to the PB. And it isn't even about numbers. Even if a small nation with only 30 captains available decided to go for screening, they could easily ensure that a large nation/coalition with 150 players engaged had no chance of taking a port. The defender can go with grey ships and tag a larger force into battle multiple times to delay their entry. Each time they die they can respawn and go out to screen again or enter the port battle with 25 1st rates after the attacker has already lost 30 minutes of the port battle and has no chance to win. The whole system surrounding screening, counterscreening and port battle entry is broken currently by the new ROE and the 46 hour port battle countdown in combination. That is clearly why devs are allowing the "tactic" we are discussing here until a fix can be implemented. Nobody is saying this "tactic" is good for the game, and as a Danmark-Norge player I hope that this gets fixed soon and we can reintroduce some form of screening action outside that doesn't guarantee 100% victory to the defender.
  7. Since both alliances have territory spread out all over the map, that wouldn't make any difference whatsoever. Also, if anything, attacking long distance should be easier, not harder, to encourage the challenge and risk that people take to do it.
  8. Teleporting with cargo is still an issue, and in general free teleport of warship to nearest friendly region is ripe for exploit. Otherwise I like these suggestions. Screening is now just tagging and running away with grey ships and fireships and no matter the numbers or tactics the current mechanics give a guaranteed "win" to defenders in PB unless attacker is guaranteed to enter the port battle. This needs to be addressed with fixing entry mechanics (preferably without a lobby). Until then we have PB-entry from login as the only way to get to fight a port battle.
  9. The only problem I foresee with that, is that it will lead to more empty port battles again, when nations decide not to make the sail somewhere to defend. That is why I prefer making it easier/possible for attackers to join Port Battles, rather than making it harder for defenders to show up and defend.
  10. Sooner or later all your resources will get wiped too. You gain nothing by saving them. Build a ship now. Have fun with it. Sink. And build another one. What's up with everyone holding on to their precious pixels right now? I built 5 L'Oceans today. Most of them were 2/4. My best Santi is a 2/4. It has been with me since the battle for Aves. I've tried sinking it every which way to get a new one, but it always keeps afloat. I finally gave up and built a new one - 3/5 - and it sank first battle, at Bermuda.
  11. You're mistaken about that. Unless they changed this again recently, you can't craft anything in ports you don't have an outpost in. Meaning unless you owned that region, lost it, and didn't remove your locked down outpost, you can't do what you describe.
  12. Identical lineup of ships (+ towers) mean that Port battles are down to only tactics and skill. When people say that's boring I suspect it's an excuse.
  13. 1. Expect a wipe every day and you will never be surprised. 2. Final wipe will be everything except XP and craft XP. Edit: ninja'd
  14. We would never see another port battle.
  15. A five times increase in weight of war supplies is steep, but could be warranted and might create better balance. Let's test it.
  16. I think the PvE-grind to gain hostility is too harsh at the moment, and wearing players out. It needs some looking into, though I will try to be patient. But I don't want playing a small nation to be just as easy as playing a large one. I didn't choose Danmark-Norge to play easy mode. I think numbers should give a noticeable advantage, and I don't mind if the odds are stacked for the Brits/Dutch to control a majority of the map if they work for it. Eventually the map will stabilize and we will start fighting for the important regions, flipping them back and forth. But numbers shouldn't be something you can spam to prevent a proper fight, spamming grey ships to preempt skill. That doesn't make for a fun game. And just to repeat. The issue with PB screening isn't numbers, but the ability to screen from undocking and respawn indefinitely with grey screening ships. There's no realism or tactics in spamming grey fireships just to waste the opponent's time. There's no victory in successfully doing it either. It would be perfectly possible for small nations to accomplish the same if what we cared about was just keeping ports and not fighting for them.
  17. Before you complain about war supplies being OP, try making 134 of them and getting them to where you need them. Come back in 1 month and let me know if you're half way there yet.
  18. I won't complain about this before I see the new weight in game, but the sheer cost in labour hours, gold and real life hours invested in gathering the materials is already extremely prohibitive to making war supplies. The cooperative community effort of a nation to overcome this should be rewarded, not prohibited further. Just a few days ago people were saying in this forum that War Supplies were too expensive and didn't give enough hostility points. This was the all time greatest smuggling run in Naval Action history.
  19. In yesterday's defence of Cumana RDNN was represented with 3 officers in the Port Battle, and more captains in the action outside.
  20. First of all: There is a US server, so the game is absolutely not ignoring the US/Australian playerbase. Second, I do think/agree that there should be content for Australian/US playerbase on the EU server. Third, devs have stated a few times already that raids are in the works, and that they will add interesting RvR-content that applies also to US/Australian playerbases and may specifically address this issue.

  22. On day one there was also no AI fleets coming to Bermuda before 2 am when everyone had logged off. So the problem affected us a lot since Brits got 2 days warning to know that we were up there and come up to defend and even when you had had plenty of time to start defending and were there in numbers we managed to get the region to 100% hostility. I do think it would take away from the game if there was a freeport right there. However I tend to agree that a much larger join area that would also be drawn far away from the port entrance (about half a square on the coordinates grid maybe, and in a straight line out from the pier/dock of the harbour) is a better solution than a lobby. Make it also possible to enter the port battle 1 or 2 hours before the battle starts and it would basically make PB entry from login moot and I think it would fix current conquest. It would avoid the gameyness of everybody teleporting into the PB and allow screening of the actual port battle to still be possible without effectively sabotaging every port battle with no effort.
  23. Everyone automatically got refunded the worth of their production buildings. Maybe your son and daughter spent the money they got already? It's been a week since the patch now. And if something did go wrong and you didn't get the money in your accounts, it's only a bit of pixel gold in an Alpha game. If you expect not to loose pixels in an alpha version you shouldn't be a tester.
  24. I didn't read all of your proposal that closely, but I am quite intrigued by the idea about specialisation. You should be able to build all ship types, but you could only specialise in either unrated ships, frigates or ships of the line. And only if you specialised in a ship size would you be able to make exceptional ships of those rates. And whether you choose to specialise in frigates or SOLs you would have to be level 50 to make ships exceptional in that class. That way some players would specialise in making exceptional frigate ships and heavy frigates, while others specialised in SOLs, and yet again other specialise in shallow draft ships and traders, or a separate specialisation could be created for trader ships.
