  1. I believe @Kloothommel is referring to the rules as stated here: and here Which makes this not a "frivolous" tribunal topic. However I believe that even if it hadn't been a case of trolling, neither of the cases pointed to falls within the purview of the tribunal. The "information" was posted in Global chat, rather than nation chat, and it was information that a scout could get just as easily as a spy.
  2. Pirat165 might be a noob, he might be a troll, he might just have been unlucky and disconnected early in the battle like what happened to one of our players at Pampatar and to another one at Castries. He might also be making some really pathetic attempts at cheating. It has been said that this sort of thing happens more often to the US/VP/GB alliance, which appears to be true, but could be explained by the fact that that alliance has more players to begin with and therefore necessarily more noobs/trolls as well. At least in the Danish fleet we also have a very good routine for being able to join as soon as the 2 min timer is up, which makes it harder for anyone not in the fleet to steal a spot before us. In any case this tribunal post is reasonable, and I support the appeal to have this user investigated. Although I would add that my encounters with the accused has led me to notice the name, yet I don't remember any previous suspicious behaviour.
  3. Damn. Yeah. Puerto-Plata. This is what happens when I write in the forum while at work.
  4. The "Good Battles"-topic was only closed temporarily. It is back up now. Also the battle at Puerto Plata (fixed) was definitely a slaughter. We killed half their ships and lost only our mortar brig. And your timeline for the Castries PB is wrong. By the time the "Amplify-incident" happened brits had given away all 3 circles and we were only minutes away from capturing the B-circle. Barring mistakes on our part we had already won at that point. Next though a mistake was made - naturally as half our fleet was for the first time in one of our PBs - and Amplify tried to capitalise on that mistake. Instead we managed to board and kill 2 British ships before Amplify could kill the ship he was boarding. By the time the explosion happened it didn't change anything. The ship could have sunk without exploding and the outcome would have been the same.
  5. I guess you just have to wait for a patch.
  6. Have you reset your officer between battles? If you reset your officer to change perks, you reset the XP gained towards the next rank to zero.
  7. This is from one of my recent visits to PvP2. I did a duel against @Jean Pual Vilvenue, and he immobilised my ship before I was even able to fire off a broadside. My L'Ocean was Mahogany and British Refit I think, so not fir or anything. After he did it to me I saw him post screenshots of having done the same to other captains, so he's got it down to a science.
  8. A Santissima can completely demast a L'Ocean in 3 broadsides (1 for each mast). I'm not sure it needs to be more powerful.
  9. I don't control anyone, and I never did any diplomacy on my own. I never tried to put you in a bad light. You did that all on your own. I've sometimes even defended you to others. I'm glad you asked... I once joined you in a group. Back when we were both just noobs in VIE. Being in the fastest ship, I did the tag. Then you asked me to get the 3rd rate tagged so he couldn't escape. Right after, you decided that you didn't want that fight after all, so you escaped and asked the others to follow you. Only one player didn't and stayed to try and help me, because I was already engaged and couldn't just escape. Eventually I sank. It's kind of funny you should say that. You are free to play the game as you like, and nobody is telling you to play it any different way. But you cannot force others to play it the way you want them to either.
  10. Nowhere in-game have I seen instructions for use of the report button. I learned about it myself from reading on this forum. Are you going to ignore clear and definitive evidence because correct procedures were not followed? Procedures that half the player base are probably unaware of? Are the experiences of players who don't read the forums not relevant? I wrote up this post because my clan-mate doesn't have a forum account himself. He came to me some time after the battle was over and asked me how to deal with this. Had it been simply a few insults I would have told him to report it via the proper mechanics next time and made sure that he knew how. But these are way more than just insults. It's an actual crime. It's not that he doesn't have thick skin. He's a dane IRL and he doesn't even flinch. But this behaviour simply doesn't belong in the game.
  11. This is a good initiative and I hope that we will get lots of more asians into this game. However, I believe that the reason that the devs haven't done something already to translate this game into other languages is because as long as it is in alpha, the game is going to be put through many changes, which will also affect the text in the game. Translating it now will mean that every time they make any change to the game they also have to spend the effort and time to go through all the translated text and correct for the changes. While expanding the reach of the game is good, doing the translations for the game already at this point is ineffective unfortunately. As soon as the major changes to the game, as well as the UI, are set, devs have indicated that the game is going to receive translations for asian languages as well as some other languages.
  12. Something like the fights you seem to be asking for you can sometimes get in the Deep Water PvP event. But you're asking for big, chaotic fights, with every man for himself, no organisation or tactics. Maybe you'll love the new pirate v pirate battles when they arrive. But in the meantime the enemy in large fights is always going to be organised - usually on TS - and that means your way you are always going to loose to better organised opponents. Groups of danish players go out and find large fights every day, outside of RvR. I see them in the Danish Teamspeak. But whether they are good players individually or less good, they organise, because they want to have fun together, and they also want to have a chance to win. What you need to do is find your own group of players to go out with, and you need to either lead them yourself or find a leader. I have nothing against you fox2run, and I try to always be friendly and polite to you, but part of your problem is that you have made for yourself a reputation for being an unreliable captain. For leaving friendlies behind to die, for ignoring tactics in battles and for sabotaging friendlies. That may be why only 2-3 players are willing to meet up with you in La Navasse.
  13. A clan-mate of mine (he has his own clan & warehouse, but still part of RDNN) received death threats from an opponent during a battle. I am here on his behalf to present the evidence before this honorable tribunal. As this violation happened in game-chat, it is reportable via the in-game function. My clan-mate was not aware of this, or did not think of it in the heat of the battle. In any case however, this is not a simple chat violation. Although the death threats are necessarily empty, they constitute a serious offense, and go far beyond what is acceptable behavior towards other players. The accused is Chef Monster of the [TPTC] clan. The evidence is attached below.
  14. There are clearly not going to be rookie only port battles in the rookie zone. Particularly with important resources and trims there. Make Northern Bahamas neutral regions and have every player start neutral and then be able to choose to join a nation after some play-time.
  15. I'm not convinced that devs have found a way to "fix" screening and make the game actually playable for smaller nations, or make port battles more likely to be full on both sides. However I'm willing to test these new mechanics devs are working on. And make no mistake, I do think the current log-out-log-in thing is bad gameplay (at least when it means logging out for several hours, or days, before a PB - taking a 30 min break right before a PB is actually quite pleasant). I do think that it should become impossible - at least the way it is now - but I was hoping to see the devs have a clearer and more convincing solution for balancing screening first. I was very disappointed when devs announced they would bar entry to PBs after logout, without saying anything back then on how they would fix screening issues first. I think the key issue with RvR right now is the 46 hour warning, that attackers cannot choose the wind, and that attackers have no wriggle room about when exactly they want to start the port-battle. These things are what forces the big alliance blocks we have now. And it makes it impossible for a lone nation like pirates, or a small nation alone, to accomplish anything. Before the map reset, 25-35 people in a tight knit group playing together could accomplish something in RvR alone. Now you need 100 people at least. It is what makes this game a full time job for those of us who try to organise the RvR and who generate a lot of the fun in this game for other players. It means even a big clan is screwed if it isn't on good terms with others. The number of people you now need to organise, talk to and be on good terms with for RvR is exceeding Dunbar's number. I'm an introvert... I miss the times when I just needed 24 close friends to attack a port. I still made 100s of friends in this game back then, on both sides of alliances. I just didn't have to deal with all 100+ of them every day. I could vary who I talked to a bit.
  16. While I'm hoping for the implementation of different wind strengths and more variable weather. Real world wind data would not make for good gameplay. The Coriolis effect, among other things, means that the wind in the Caribbean is mostly blowing towards the west afaik. So the wind would practically always be blowing in the same directions, and going from one place on the map to another you would almost always have the wind against you or with you conversely.
  17. My recording software bugged out again, but here's a record of the Pampatar PB (courtesy of @BABAY):
  18. Actually. When we tested that in our clan, clan creator could not leave, only dissolve the clan.
  19. If you are 40+ people in a Lineship PB this is a pretty common experience on PvP1 too. So it is nothing to do with the PvP2 server specifically. Check out some of the videos of the most epic fights on PvP1 and you see this in most of them. It can take 30 seconds before your guns visibly fire after you shoot them. However the gunfire all registers when you click the button, and you will see the penetrations and so on on the screen without delay. It is only the graphics representation that is delayed. On PvP1 we've learned to live with it, and now it doesn't even get commented on most of the time. One way we've learned to live with it is to just hurry up and sink some of the brits in the battle. Once they're down there are less ships firing, and less gunfire to model, so the lag will subside. It's a great workaround.
  20. My video from Puerto Plata:
  21. After the PB victory at Puerto Plata I didn't get any ship chest or paint chest. The same happened to one of my teammates after the PB for Castries. (sorry for bad screeenshot, no ship chest or paint chest is hidden behind the capped aga info) I also F11'd this.
  22. Pirates haven't flipped any ports for our alliance. If you're talking about Puerto Plata, that was the US flipping it for the Pirates and then giving it to pirates undefended. Which is fine with us. We don't care if we take it from Pirates or Americans.
  23. I didn't make it to this battle myself, but RDNN was well represented at today's battle for Islamorada too. Video courtesy of @PIerrick de Badas
