Reinforcment Zones - Yay or Nay?
Anolytic replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Reducing the safe zone by 10-15% means that all important ports in Danmark will be outside the reinforcement zone. Which is good. However all important ports in Sweden will still be well within the reinforcement zone. So you are not really changing anything for anyone except making it so Danish average players/pubbies will resume whining in nation chat about getting ganked in "home waters". Btw, are you reducing the area by 10-15% or the radius by 10-15%? -
Christian VII was mad. That's why I like him. How can a clan be rogue for doing with their port as they like? And how are you not also rogue for doing the same with yours? Who are these official representatives? They sound really bad and completely useless. You know, there used to be a couple of players in the Danish nation that would spend a lot of their time to talk to and listen to each and every clan in the Nation and try to take all of their concerns into consideration. I think that they could have sorted this situation out in a heartbeat by talking to the different parties and mediate between clans. They never claimed any official status though and they never claimed to represent anybody that didn't give their express consent to be represented.

Reinforcment Zones - Yay or Nay?
Anolytic replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
That's what I'm saying, yes. For Danes: Road Town, Coral Bay, Amalienborg. Also Vieques and Spanish Town are so close you can sail invulnerable from the port and into the zone. For Swedes: Phillipsburg, Marigot, Fort Baai, Oranjestad, Basseterre Town. And I suspect also Codrington, Charlestown, Sandy Hill are inside the zone or barely outside it. -
Reinforcment Zones - Yay or Nay?

You can see what region you are in. But the reinforcement zones also apply even if your screen says you are in a neighbouring region to the capital region. Danmark has reinforcements in half of Virgin Isles region, Sweden has reinforcements in almost all of Boevenwinds. -
Reinforcment Zones - Yay or Nay?

The Swedish and Danish reinforcement zones almost overlap... And as attacker it appears you can't see if you've entered another nation's reinforcement zones. Meaning that you may think you're far enough away from high sec zones, but you're not and you loose your ship. -
In the tribunal there needs to be an accused party, and some evidence for the admiralty to take steps on the matter. Leaving that aside, I have observed this issue myself, not just with Cartagena Tar, and as far as I'm concerned it is an exploit. It is unlikely that any player can be punished for using this exploit, as there are gray areas where it is difficult to know if a player tried to exploit the shop bug, or was actually just trying to make a buck off a highly sought and steeply valued item. However it is an exploit that can be used to sabotage others in many ways. The most obvious is blocking highest bidding contract from filling, cheating players with the winning bid. This exploit also seems to slow down the drop-rate of some resources, which means that it can be used to reduce the tax income of some ports by blocking the most valuable trade goods in that port from spawning to the market.

Any ETA on a fix? This bug is really crippling clans.

It was a nice battle, but terrible wind. Considering that one fort alone got as many kills as 25 brits, and that we had to delay our approach, then loosing the last bit of help from the wind, while we tried to fix the mortar brig by restarting the game and even his computer, I'd say the impact is not in question.

We understood this to mean that this issue was fixed, but it is not. Our mortar brig at Cartagena de Indies could not aim, shoot or even turn the rudder.

Since the patch it has apparently been impossible for clans to send out clan mails to their players. With the exception of very small clans. Since the patch RDNN has sent out 3 clan mails, only to realise today that none of them reached our members. With the update, the addressee field in the in-game mail system was limited to 255 characters. Which means that for my clan the first 22 members on the clan list get any clan-mail sent out, and the 23rd member has his name cut in half so does not get the message either. This made it hard to realise, since all of the officers would get the messages, whereas any newer members would not get them. When I try to send a clan-mail only the first 22 and a half members of the clan whose names fit in the addressee box gets listed as recipients. Sending the mail only sends it to the first 22 members of the list. I F11d this too, but it is hard to attach a proper illustration, as the F11 does not work when the mails are selected on the screen.

I don't care for this forum PvP, and the OP should stand for itself, but some things should be cleared up. Everything is said in the statement in the OP. There is nothing more. We will not join the defence of DNP ports. After a year of trying to cooperate with DNP we are tired of only getting shit in return and we will not have anything to do with them anymore. We do not care about the ports that they have taken or any ports that they are going to take. If they turn their ports neutral, it won't affect us. If they loose their ports we will help anyone make sure they become Danish again, but we do not want to own them. If DNP owns them or another clan owns them is not up to us, but RDNN does not want them. It is our view that other clans should have all the room that they want to own what ports they wish in Danish home waters. RDNN has no interest in safe ports far behind the frontlines. That is why we took a risk and went for Cartagena when everyone else was doing PvE next to their safezone. This is the first time that we respond to DNP after taking their abuse for a year without retaliation. RDNN is a clan whose purpose revolves around RvR. RDNN has always, since its creation, been there to protect Danish territories. When there is a port battle, RDNN has shown up wether it was convenient for us or not. When DNP was doing PvE at the capital, RDNN defended Danish ports. When DNP was seal-clubbing at capitals, RDNN was defending Danish ports. When DNP was taking a break from the game, RDNN was defending Danish ports. When the alliance system was in place, we sailed around the whole map and helped defend our allies, so that our allies would help defend us. DNP has always taken the defence of Danish ports for granted, only demanding a spot in port battle fleets when it suited them. RDNN has obliged and given away our own spots to DNP-players to let them take part. RDNN has never disparaged DNP for their playstyle. If they want to gank at other capitals or revenge gank at ours, we are fine with it. If they want to sail around Christiansted or trade or raid or whatever, we are fine with it. We would have appreciated the same courtesy in return. Instead we have been constantly disparaged in nation chat, in the forum, and on Teamspeak by DNP for playing the way that we like. For seeking 25v25 RvR fights rather than open world ganks. For sailing at the frontlines where it is risky rather than around the capital where it is safe. If DNP wants a home defence fleet or trader escorts, they should organise it. It is not the duty of RDNN to handhold other players or other clans. We respect other clan's preferences for how they wish to play the game, and all that we ask for is that other clans respect that we spend the time we play this game the way that we like.

OCEAN, RUBLI, PODW, RAKER and LG. Some of them have similar playstyles, some have differing playstyles. Ranking between these is impossible though.

Perks ...Beating the nearly dead horse...
Anolytic replied to CaptVonGunn's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
If you want 3 fleet ships that really should cost you most of your perk points. -
This is not an exploit and not a matter for the tribunal. The disconnects are happening all around since the Unity 5 update. People are having up to multiple disconnects per battle be it PvE or PvP. Crashes happen both in instances and OW. EDIT: Do an F11 and explain what happened and what ship you lost, and there is a possibility that devs will reimburse ships lost because of the crashes.

It was made impossible to teleport to regional capitals in part because one clan proved that it could be possible to teleport into PBs. Now all ports have PBs, so every PB that is not a regional capital PB you can teleport into. That is a very good thing. Making it hard to get access to lineships was driving people from the game who just wanted to experience all of the various ships in the game.

In the Friendly Clans list there is a history of actions made at the bottom. This history should really also show you what other clans in your nation added or removed your clan from their friend list.

Like was said, there is a ton of new 4th rate PBs on the map and no new 1st rate PBs. Also I happen to think that 4th rate PBs as they are now do not work to begin with. There has been almost no 4th rate PBs since the wipe for a reason, and no increase since the battlegroups. Everyone realises that a defender with the manpower to field a screening fleet can easily screen out an attack on a 4th rate port. Battlegroup BR won't help when the enemy can bring out 10-15 1st/2nd rates to screen the attackers who can only bring 4th rates in their battle group. Another thing. We now need to be able to click on towns that are not Regional capitals or national capital. This has not been implemented for non capital ports yet. Which means for ports that are not capitals you can only click on the crosses, not on the town, to get the entry option. And you cannot see the name of the port from a distance by clicking on it.
