  1. It's kind of funny if people are using the EU server to do the thing that is restricted there (RvR), while using the Global server to do the thing that is no different if you do it on EU or Global server (PvP).
  2. For anyone who wants to play on a unified, no time-restricted server, there's the Global server waiting for you. Players vote with their feet. What devs really need to do is make a one time, limited option to sync all your assets and XP from Global to EU or from EU to Global. To correct the mistakes of the implementation of global. I would play on EU even if there were 150 players in my primetime, and I wouldn't change to Global if there were 800. @Jon Snow lets go Thanks. @Tiedemanns post should be pinned. The reason why these topics keep popping up is that every time the discussion is lost, the subject is buried for a week before a new topic is created rehashing the same arguments.
  3. There's already 987654321 topics about this. Do we need another one?
  4. The only way you need to tow a 1st rate is if you have a 1st rate. If the guy in your example doesn't have a 1st rate he will have no need to tow a 1st rate. And in a 1st rate it only takes 2-3 missions to get 100 combat marks. Make it 10 combat marks to tow sloops and brigs. 25 CM to tow frigates. 100 CM to tow Lineships.
  5. Have you played the game? You get combat marks from PvE. Much easier than from PvP in fact.
  6. We have combat marks already. Why introduce yet another currency? Combat marks could work. Paying 50 combat marks for towing a frigate and 100 for towing a 1st rate. In basic cutter, kill LGV instead. Easily 100k per battle. And it only takes 10 minutes.
  7. 100k for a mission? If you do them in a basic cutter maybe...
  8. 100k to tow a 1st rate? You might as well make it free. Multiply it by 20 and we're talking. In the time you'd save by not sailing half way across the map you can easily earn 1,5-3 million.
  9. I am focused on the fighting. A predictable outcome of the tow function is that players will send 1st rates all around the map to easily screen 4th rate PBs. RvR will be a whole lot more boring and more effortless. Attacking ports is already stupidly difficult compared to defending. At least make it so that only ship rates 5th and below can be towed around the map. People can then ship their frigates around to do all the PvP/ganking they desire, but it won't heavily impact RvR. If you want to use your Lineship somewhere, you have to take the risk and time to sail it somewhere.
  10. Not sure how I feel about getting back towing. But about the reinforcement zones, could you please remove reinforcement zones from captureable cities or make captureable cities that are engulfed by the reinforcement zones into uncaptureable ones. Captureable cities inside the reinforcement zones are fake features.
  11. I'm all in. Only please, someone remind me to bring repairs... Also I can offer my Teamspeak to be used if there is a need for a communication platform.
  12. tm didn't make his proposal "on behalf of" the Danish Nation. He didn't even make it "as a dane", nor mention the fact that he plays for Danmark. He made a suggestion that in absolutely no way is invalidated by the fact that other Danish players may disagree with him and have different priorities in the game. Neither as a pirate nor as a dane do I agree with his proposed solution, but I don't dismiss his reasons for pointing at a potential problem.
  13. A squadron of the most active RDNN-players have formed the pirate LEGO-fleet. Yesterday some of us helped with the capture of North Inlet.
  14. Moderators, including most of the players with green name in chat in-game, are private persons who do a voluntary service to Game-Labs and to the community. They may leave the game, switch nation, or simply become less inclined to show their voice and presence in chat at any time, for any reason - personal or other.
  15. A small step for Naval Action ...a big step towards lobby based PB entry.
  16. Nobody can reasonably blame Swedes for looking for fights all over the map. Being well organised is not a sin. Of course they would have a better chance by letting other factions build their fleets by training between themselves. It takes more time to build fleets when more people speak different languages than speak the same, and when most haven't played together before. But on the other hand, what are Swedes to do in the meantime? It used to be there were always 3 or 4 solid RvR forces on the server that could keep each other busy while the rest of the nations either rebuilt or tried to catch up. The problem arises now in large part from the fact that as the population of the server has dwindled, something every nation has felt, devs have at the same time introduced mechanics which has vastly increased emphasis on preparation and having full 25 man fleets. This has forced the RvR-players who have felt the struggle to always have a 25-man fleet at the ready to converge into a few factions. The old fleets from Dutch, US and partially brits have all converged in Sweden. Of course it is no surprise there are less opportunities to fight. Attacking becoming exponentially more difficult than defending, battles being decided by positioning and coincidences of wind, rather than ships sinking, and all of this being preceeded by often destructively boring grinding also meant that many RvR-players simply left.
  17. I'm not a fan of this suggestion, but if this gets in, we will all need 3x the dock space at least.
  18. First of all, I never let my personal interests or clan interests dictate the opinions I express on gameplay mechanics. And I would never put the short term interests of me or my clan ahead of the long term interests to general gameplay. Second of all, RDNN/LEGO is not like other clans. We don't hold grudges for long, and certainly we do not let them dictate our actions. We do not seek to one-port DN as you say, we have not even made any aggressive moves against Danmark-Norge. Even our PvP-activities are done far from Danish waters at the moment. Our relationship with RUS is as good as ever, and should circumstances favour it, it is as likely that we will ally with DN as go to war with them, even with the clans we have disagreements with. Our reasons to hoist a new flag are our own. You may speculate if you like, but that does not make you right. We seek to engage in new activities, find new and additional friends, sail new seas, face new challenges and build a fleet that may prove itself on its current status and isn't considered strong just because of the past. Thirdly, you are waaaay off topic. Please contain your salt and propaganda to the national news forum.
  19. Inb4 everyone just doing PvE, to be able to pay the best mercenary clans to fight all of their battles for them. RvR-content for 50-75 players total.
  20. Ask the BLACK clan on PvP Global if dualboxing in PBs is effective. And you don't even need to dualbox. You do the hostility with accounts in one nation and do the actual PB with accounts in another nation. As long as the clans are on each other's friend list. Hello there, You must be new to the Internet.
  21. The problem that @Archaos is pointing at though, is that very quickly it will be easier to fight any war using mercenaries (/alts) from the nation you are attacking, than actually fighting the war yourself. Because those mercenaries will be impossible to screen out and impossible to revenge against as in open world they will be protected by their same nation status.
  22. Clan friend list would not affect hostility I believe. Only who can enter PBs. Meaning that the only thing that would happen in the first scenario is that Clan A would be able to join the PB they set on either side. @Archaos makes some very valid points though. This is the real headache. If it was implemented we would probably be best off just removing screening game-play. Alternatively one needs to be able to form battlegroups with friendly clans in other nations. And as long as you are in a battle group with nationals of another nation you need to be able to engage in OW players from your own nation. Last alternative would be make a zone around PBs where everything is free-for-all and anyone can tag anyone, even same-nation nationals. I'd be interested to see an elegant solution to this problem. I'm not sure there can be one. If no solution is presented there is only a matter of time before the following scenario becomes a reality: Clan A has a beef with Clan B from their own nation. Clan A moves their 3 alts to another nation, makes a clan there and in the middle of the night when nobody is there to see clan A's alts grind hostility for Clan B's port. Clan A's alt clan sets Clan A on their friendlist. Clan B shows up with 25 ships for the PB and 25 ships to screen. Clan A sails right past the screening, with no chance of getting tagged, and enters the PB that was set by Clan A's alt clan. Not a single player from Clan A's alt clan shows up to the attack. The defending screeners from Clan B sit there and can do nothing as the clan from their own nation sails past them and enters on the hostile side in a PB against them.
  23. If a clan manages to ingratiate themselves with both sides in a war and thus are able to choose which side to enter when the battle comes and by their choice inevitably betrays one party or the other, I'd say that's a feature, not a bug. Alts can still sabotage PBs - if you yourself are not careful who's on your clan's friendlist or in your clan rooster. Same would be the case for clans. If you're not careful to make sure that your friends are actually your friends, then you loose.
  24. Tell us which is your alt in the battle and I'll hand you your
