Unloading Hold and fleets
Sir Texas Sir replied to BallsOfSteel's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
You don't have to have 4 ships, you get fleet perk 1 for free. I run with three indmans and sextent on my crafter/trader along withh Hold Opt and I do just fine. Pick your perks wisely is all, just like you would for combat perks. -
Free towns aren't the problem, they are using alts to get mission behind enemy lines without going through the Capitals. The fix would be to allow missions from the capital to be locked to friendly clans only. Also to make it where all hostility goes to the nation that started the mission. It should be a two fold fix to keep from other means of exploiting that hasn't been done but has been reported also.

I noticed the past week we had a lot of players return to check out the new system and get ready. Moral has been at an all time high as folks where happy we get a fresh start without having to deal with enemy ports in the middle of are home waters. We started to flip ports fast and than suddenly one port is taken, than two, and now three by use of exploits to put pirates and french behind our frontlines and in the middle of our waters. Let me make this clear we had no issue if some one sailed up from a neutral town before we could close it or some other place, but they would have a long journey and prob would be selected to the ship they are in, but now we have full fleets of SOL's on our coast that can just pop into a port and repair or hide. Ports that was gain through expiolets and what do we get told by Ink and Admin? "Deal with it cause there will be a wipe soon for release." Yah what a week or two from now? Maybe a month or two? Or more what we all expect is 6-9 months from now as that is how long it takes for them to do things after they announce. We can't wait that long wait to see if things are corrected, loose faith in the Devs and the game that same players over and over keep being abusive toxic to other players and exploiting the game over and over. Something needs to be done and an official ruling made about folks that continue to use exploits after they are found before they are found. Than removal of anything gained from those exploits done by Devs so they don't get rewarded by exploiting as that is bad practice.
-
And some one did the same for La Des in the shallows for UWU clan, never heard of that pirate clan, but was told a certain US clan was seen in the area that is known alt clan. Devs need to make a post about this even if your still working on a hotfix cause it's just going to continue to be abused and explioted until it's stopped and the folks that continue to use is doing exactly that. Exploiting and abusing the system. One time to test and report something is one thing, but when folks keep using it it's no longer testing. As Teutonic said all ports gained this way should be made Neutral and the parties involved force to play the game like the rest of us. If they are repeat offenders than it's up to the Devs about how to handle this. With no time frame of when the release is going to happen you shouldn't let exploiters be rewarded by keeping the items they gained through exploiting (said ports). I seen players from these clans make very joking comments in the forums and other media outlets about doing it more. That is not the attitude you want to be know for allowing in your game.

And it’s easy for them to take ports through exploits too. Other wise they have to go through the brits...I mean Russians and Spain.

You have to look at it on Dev's time. When they say a week or two that means several months. So 30 days would prob mean 3 months from now.

We have some built but they aren't showing yet so we assume they will show when server resets. If you can destroy them in open world than that is buggy as hell with how expensive they are to craft. That why any smart nation would have a stock pile of resources in the ports as a back up if any is destroyed.

Successful Defense is 2 days, Attack is 3 days cool down. Never understood while attackers got a longer cool down than defenders.

A Better way to Conquer Regions
Sir Texas Sir replied to Anolytic's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I brought up that you should be able to get a bit of the tax's from the regions port paid to the capital, but to get them some one in your nation has to own them. This means that they can't just take capitals and not take the regions and leave them neutral. That or if they are nuetral the capital has to pay the maintenance instead of getting sub clans to own them. If it's neutral you pay but you don't gain the taxes. This would force nations to capture the ports of a region instead of just capital hopping. Could also have the region revolt and kick you out if you don't capture them returning the capital back to neutral and able to be attacked by any one in range. -
Frontlines are Broken
Sir Texas Sir replied to Anolytic's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Sorry every one should have the same options. You picked the impossible (hint the name) nation which is suppose to be hard core compared to any normal. So you shouldn't get any special treatment. The whole key of those nations is that normal nations can port them and drive them back to free towns if they so choice. How about this....remove the nations that shouldn't be in the game as they never had a navy presence there in the first place? I think that is a better thing than trying to forbid nations that actually belong in the game. You want national options you play one of the normal nations.... -
I think that was kinda the point US wanted it for to get a place far from the coast since we are kinda stuck in a corner. Yes folks can still come out there and hunt our ships, but it's not easy and it's not exploited port taken behind our lines either. That and Marsh had Copper Port in it's region, something that can make good money for the clans that own them. We are just lucky we have a morning crew of night shifters and retired guys along with some EU players willing to flip ports. Other wise we would be behind on some of the regions that Russian or EU's taken before most US Prime time players get on. They really need to release on a Friday next time. While I'm a night shifter (3rd shift) not every one has that option.

Why should a solo player or alt get the perks that the other clans put together and pay for? I'm sorry have you looked at how expensive it is to invest ports? You shouldn't get a participation trophy just cause you don't want to play with others. They can either help or pay for one of those ships from some one that can craft them. Which is what most solo players will prob do is pay for the ship from some one that can craft them. So stop acting like every solo player is going to be a master ship builder too. The only ones that do that have mulit alts to do it.

Marsh open up for us the same time it open up for ya'll. We just got on early and flipped it before ya'll could. Ya'll all ready have most of south Bahamas you don't need all of it.

Admin did mention if you where once in the clan or clans list and invested though you would be able to still use that building. Though I assume that was the resources but not the shipbuilding stuff. We did test to see that none list clans can still take missions. Which I think is wrong simply that can be abused by alt clans once the capital is taken and port left open behind lines. Also the friends clan list really needs to be longer for bigger nations that has a lot of clans. We hit the 20 limit pretty fast just for the port battles the other day. Even though I'm one for small clans merging into bigger clans we are working with a small pop right now not 1K players or something.

DLC ships and shipbuilding investement
Sir Texas Sir replied to Despe's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Where is DLC's being nerfed? They are still the same 3/5 ships with chance of perk and bonus as before that you can instantly craft into any woods you want. That is very much a bonus over crafted ships that have to find the woods you want or be limited to Fir and Oak combo's. The ship crafting bonus shouldn't even be counted cause we won't be seeing most of those for a long time with the cost. Yes we will see some ships with a bonus but it's so small and that nation still has togather sources of rare woods to craft or they are limited to oak/fir. In fact cause your not limited to woods right now the DLC ships are actually better than crafted ships cause not every one has the permits, or rare woods to craft them. Remember still alot (10 ships) are locked behind random finding in chest the permits so we can't even craft all ships we want easily. Another perk of DLC's as there is no limit to them. Yes I do have an opinion that all DLC ships should be limited to only blue 3/5 ships with perk, but that just my opinion cause DLC's should never be better than crafted ships, but I also think all DLC ships should be craftable too (not notes you buy). -
DLC ships and shipbuilding investement
Sir Texas Sir replied to Despe's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
But the DLC already have perks, they can be any woods open in any ports. No they should remain 3/5 with slight chance of perk of better quality. I honestly think they should be only blue 3/5 ships with perks and nothing more. Premium ships should never be better than what can be crafted in game. -
Patch 31: Port investments, new hostility and preparation for release
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
Most ports had two small and two big, so it's prob per fort your building so you can build two towers and two forts. Devs said they are currently in old placements but later we might be able to place them or they will balance placement to make them more usefull. It's 40 points just to do all the shipbuilding stuff, 4 points for the forts. Than add what ever resources you add so you can't do every thing. I'm going to bet we won't have 45 points when game is released that is just for testing. Prob something more like 15-20 points. That 45 points is for the port. -
Yah but you have to remember to get the port to that point it's 375 Combat Medals 150 VM 150K Doubloons. That is a lot of points and I assume this is tier so you have to do bonus in order 1 before you can do 2. While yes this means later on months and months from release we will have a few great building ports, but we prob won't see that any time soon. Specially if folks don't work together in nations.

Remove Frontlines from Bahamas Region
Sir Texas Sir replied to Anolytic's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
The usual clan is 4-5 players? Most clans I know are 20+, maybe not all are active and even than what they do is work with other clans to get a total players. Russia isn't the only one to be able to field 25 players. Sounds like you just don't want to work with others as a team. Cause there is more than 20 players in most nations (maybe not Poland). Though we are also forgetting a lot of players aren't playing until release so numbers should go up more. When that happens you get them all organized and preferably in one or two large clans and teach them how to be better. We will all be in 5th rates and below soon, not 1st rates. So numbers are what your going to need. Hell US had over 25 at Savannah port battle yesterday during EU prime time not US prime time. So people are out there and it was a mix of prob about 10 clans. We had 17 2 hours before that at San Augustine. I'm sure others can do the same once more players return. GB issue in the past was they spread out way to much and no one helps each other, so there big numbers don't mean crap when they don't work together. If your going to RvR your going to have to work with other clans now instead of being solo small elite clans of 4-5 players. -
IN the US and I been waiting a long time and still not in. Might be area effective too, some folks stating they can get in might be closer.....oh wait just got in lol

Remove Frontlines from Bahamas Region
Sir Texas Sir replied to Anolytic's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Not to mention folks are flipping these ports with 1st rates. Wait until we have to do it in 5th rates or below. LOL It's not going to be 30 something port battles the first day I'll promise you. Also about every one bitching, you know in a few days they will be off cool down....than attack those ports and take them from them? You really think they can hold and fight in multi battles spread all over the map? They are going have to let some of them go.
