[PvP2 US] Political Situation's and Port Battles reports
Sir Texas Sir replied to Sir Texas Sir's topic in National news
We auto won in 15 mins any way. I went right through the forts with my l'Ocean and captured A. We weren't to worried about the time and even had a few stragglers that got in after he popped out so wasn't to worried. Good work on WIndward, we where a bit worried after we heard the numbers and I know two of those guys came in late too so they had ya'll out number at start. -
[PvP2 US] Political Situation's and Port Battles reports

Cumana Line Ship Port battle: 1 Dutch vs 17 Pirates Well as you can see they didn't show up other than one guy. So ti was cap the circles and just wait the clock out. I'm hearing right now Windward is 15 vs 15 right now. If it's a bunch of dutch we see where they care to go instead of protecting there own home port or the alliance ports instead of letting a small nation like France get an econ region port for once. -

Well many of these so called pirates where actually Privateers for one nation or another. Hell some of them even jumped from nation to nation. Though looting did happen even by the military/navy cause well wars weren't cheap and if you sack a port it put a hurt on that other nation. So remember it's not piratical if your just doing it in the name of your nation...lol -
Ok I'm kinda getting sick of seeing this and it tells me you have no clue what pirates do. From my many years of player dupe a ship/item is by some way using an exploit to get a copy of something. How exactly are we doing this? Though since your bring up alts and such I think he's thinking of the way folks use to do this one POTBS to get none pirate ships including 1st rates. They would give it up with there National alts to there pirates. The problem is I don't know how it goes on PvP1, but on PvP2 we don't need national alts to make our ships. WE MAKE THEM OUR SELVES. I have two level 50 crafters in my clan. Just about ever member of our clan is Curse and Level 50 crafters. Many of us have rare BP. Hell I think I'm one of the only folks that is active and has the gunboat right now. So why would we need to us our alts in Nations if we had any to get first rates? We can just make them exactly how we want them. That are you just trade them over from one char to another there is no reason to dupe anything. Hell even more funny is the BLACK clan has been producing ships for the small nations on our server cause we have more level 40 crafters with the proper BP's than they do.

Haven't played much lately since the new patch and added battle. I have used the Parrots on my Union game to take out other arty at range. The 24 Howitzers are great for canister shot kills on the front lines. Otherwise I run the 12 Naps or 10 Ords depending what I gotten for free or paid for on the side. I tend to put the Ordance in my spare Corps when i'm building them until I get something better.

I'm firm about this. I don't see myself as the only ship captioan of my fleet.....notice I said fleet. I'm the Admiral (though Pirate version on PvP2) of my fleet of ships. If I can man more than one ship than I should be allowed to. I voted I'm ok with it cause there is no option for other and I don't exactly agree with the other options. Didn't they put in your fleet effects your OW ship speed? I know it effects your BR if you under-crew them. I'm asking cause the other day we couldn't catch a LGV with Trincs and other ships. Well that was understandable until you saw it had a Wappen in it's fleet. A ship that can hardly go above 10 knts when all our ships did 12+. So it should of been slowly that LGV down big time specially in that bad winds for the Wappen. I'm all for things like this effecting players that use fleets. One of the big problems folks saying keep it to lower level is that most lower level players can't man more than one ship. That and Newbie ROE don't allow fleets in battles if your in those zones. So really that option would mean on fleets at all. I'm one to believe I have the rank and crew I should be able to bring the ships I want to if I have the crew for them. Now my complaint about fleets falls on those that use them no matter what. Like on PvP2 nationals tend to allways have fleets with them no matter what. So a 10 vs 10 can turn into a 25 vs 10 fast. we had one battle that was a good 15 vs 13 turn into a 29 vs 15 cause the other side in shallows all had fleets with them for the most part. I think the fleets should be added to the battle cap of 25. Once that cap is hit than you can't get any one else into the battle. This would have a lot of none fleet players pissed off. That and make it like it use to be. If you have a ship in your fleet you can't enter port battles. This will stop folks from bringing fleets with them to deal with screeners. Most of them bring junk ships, put them on the screeners and than leave the fight o join the port battle. Yes those junk ships just surrender and they loose the crew, but it still ties us up. Though I'm more into the AI comes in and ties up the 25 slots. If you bring AI ships to a port battle they can join but once the ships hit 25 it's capped out. Once agian you have a bunch of pissed of players cause they couldn't get in cause of the AI ships in others fleets. This would allow them to fill slots in smaller pop nations that have the crew to do so in PB's. The funny thing is half those time these guys bring AI fleets they get in the way more than they do good and end up hurting there team.

I kinda see the numbers are of what ships where on hand. Sorry a surprised raid attack wouldn't have your whole fleet in port when they happen. Though I think it should go both ways. Some ports your only allowed bring so many ships on the raid, but the port might have more ships than you. -

I think the current system the devs is looking at is good for all nations, but I think raids like we want for the pirates to replace conquest stuff is what a lot of us want. I get the PvE concept and I"m sure if the rewards are worth it we might do them some times, but I would prefer to fight players not AI even if Players have chance to take control of those AI's. -
Yah here is my pirate main accant vs my Dane. Nationals have way more options than pirates do. I just wonder if the Rattlesnake is pirate only and if the Katherine and Lion are nation only. Would be nice to see the other nations options match up or not. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/92725318262485127/4DB73086F919827BD3A13DD7B64B43541B26C8C1/ http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/83718115823339265/08EC4B01B9815ABD00EA9227320C17618677275B/ Though I still say keep them from being traderable so that way the Pirate frigate is a ship that only pirates can make.
-
awww those of the things that pirates don't have in there shop. We get the option of two figure heads. Three ships (N Brig, Aggy and Essex) and one BP (pirate frig). I'm about to log in there and check it out again. I have a second account and I'll make a Nat with it to compare. Would be nice if folks listed the rewards for nations and see if they are the same for all nations. I also think the rewards should only be used by that player and not tradeable. Though if you have to spend 50 PVE for 25 silver coins I agree. Should be enough to make one note. 50 PvE for 25 Furnishings....yah that kinda not worth it. And I still want to know how do we get the trading ones.
-
How are they high? I been getting 2-3 marks (PvE) per battle I been doing. That won't take long at all for me to get what I need. If there was more players on I would be getting that nightly from PvP like I do in the normal server. Now my complaint and I went to check it more is that the Nationals have way more options in there shops than the pirates. Wonder if there is a reason for this. That and what exactly is a Navy Essex or Navy Aggy? Is it something diffrent than the base model ones? Hell I would pay that much just for paints of those ships, but a random ship of that type if the BP's are truelly rare could prob cost way more.

Dura done right for proper PVP game
Sir Texas Sir replied to Koltes's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I still think we need dura's on the lower tier ships. I don't think going to 3 on SOL is going to help anything. The guys that don't take there ships out cause of fear of getting sunk still won't take them out. Carebears are going to be crebears. We see tons of Buccs in fights so it would be the same with the multi dura, they bring them until they get to the last and than they stop showing up. Specially with how expensive it will be to build them if it's three times the resources. I kinda like this concept, but it would need a bit tweeking and I don't think it should apply to all ships. I always been a fan of doing something like this instead of all ships 1 dura: SOL: 1 DURA Frivates: 2 Lights: 3 Though I'm more of a fan of doing the current system we have with koltes system to retrieve your lost shisp to PvE. That gives the PvEr's a little insureance, but keeps the PvPers happy with the current system. Please no insurance either.....I"m pretty sure they didn't ahve insurance back than, but most ships owed a lots of money so in trueth I would prefer to see a cost to maintain the bigger ships not just the repair cost. They should be expensive. Ships that newer players will be in need multi duras cause the learning curve is so hard on this game and unless you know the system it's hard to get that first ship you really want. I think we need a complete wipe to remind folks of that cause we currently have to many folks sitting on tons of mats that can just pump out any ship they want and then we have a bunch of newer guys that are struggling to stay in ships. The majority folks my clan sinks aren't the old timers, it's the new guys that come out and fight. It's the guys sitting on the stacks of stuff that aren't helping the new guys. -
I love this option now cause KIDDS is a long haul, but you can't put cargo on a ship you captured and put in your fleet. Would be nice if the optoin for doing this. Maybe not move cargo all ready in hull, but have the option to put ship and cargo in fleet that you capture. I beg the diff, it's the PvErs that won't take the chance. My ships can be replaced pretty much at a moments notice and i have a bunch stocked up. I PVP and yes I loose ships, prob not as much as the casual players, but I do loose them. The problem is when you baby them The problem is folks get to attached to there pixels and don't want to loose them. I'm sorry if your staying in port with all your pretty 1st rates yoru not using them for what they are ment for. That and well we have tons of other ships to use. Maybe folks should stop wanting to use only SOL's and get back to the basic and have fun in the 4th rates and below.

Why are my units getting owned while in Fortifications?
Sir Texas Sir replied to LegioX's topic in General Discussions
Fortifications should be hard to take and expect losses, but I find my lost some times when I have way out numebers. 2000 vs say 250 I been rooted and sent running. Would be nice if you can breka those fortifications with arty fire on them. The problem I have in most of these fights is the dang clock. It doesn't give me time to beat down fortifications or cover before I engaged. Hell some of the small missions I draw/lost as I hadn't even got close to the target in time. -
Many of the others that put there input into the pirate mechanics don't play it and seem to put very one sided info into there concepts. Like listed that make SOL captured only by pirates, Nationals that capture get paid out like NPC SOL's. There is all ways going to be abuse of system, but to be honest 100% of our first rates on PvP2 are pirate built. We captured North C the other day just to pump out a tons of Strong Hull Ships and than let it go. The ships we capture we give to new players and other smaller nations cause hate to say it Nationals make some pretty crappy ship combo's. I think it's cause they do it more for PvE than PvP design in use.

To add with this give the Pirates true raid system . Not the crap that the devs are coming up with, that can be keep as a national raid system. What pirate/outlaws and only they can buy a flag (like the old flag system). If you are currently a Privateer working for a nation you can't buy a flag and do a raid cause you are working under that nation rules. The raids will be like the old flag system, but needs a cool down for false flags. When a port is raided it's a 15 vs 15 battle for that port only, this will give better numbers to be filled on the spur of a moment. Capitals of regions and ports in the capital regions can't be raided. If you win the fight than that port is raided for 3-5 days. While it's raided all production is stopped for the Nation that owns that region. While raided the Pirates/Outlaws can produce goods and make ships in that region (limited to 4th rates and below). If a false flag is not planted or if a port is raided there is a cool down just like normal regions captured until it can be raided again. If some one buys a false flag and don't plant it (not counting if sunk with flag) than they can't buy any new raid flag for that same time. 5-7 days would keep from there being abuse of the system like the old flag system and folks buying 5 flags for one battle. If you are sunk with the flag on you going towards a raid than the flag is dead and there is a normal 24 hour cool down until server resets until a new flag can be bought. If a flag is bought that port can't have a new flag pulled on it until after the server maintenance. This keeps ports from being attacked multi times a day. Penalize that nations region that have been successfully raided. All agro put on it is increased to make it easier for other nations to attack that nations region while it's in chaos during a raid. There can only be two raids active at a time like the current port battle timer. This would mean pirates would have to pick the port careful that needs to be raided. The flags need to be costly and not gold. PvP Marks would be great for this. You need a lot of marks to get a flag to raid a port.

12 years a is a long time, but while not a super power it was still a force in the area. Until we have our on mechanics that isn't national like than we will play as a nation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Pirates People also forget what most pirates where. Many of the most known Pirates started out as Privateer for one nation or another. It was when there was no war that they tend to turn to Pirate status. This is why I suggested the Privateer/Outlaw/Pirate mechanics several times so we are not a nation, but a assortment of Privateers and Outlaws/Pirates instead. We don't own any Regions our self (other than Kidds which should be the Pirate/Outlaw capital). Make Mort neutral for all nations so it becomes a trading hub (though other than the green zone still not safe to travel in). The other ports can be used by all nations to give every one more than one region to craft in. Kinda like how Pitts was for National it will be neutral zone. Than allow Privateers to join a nation as one to work for them. Would need a reputation system so that you can only work for nations your on good standing. You can use those ports while working for that nation, but if your not on a contract than you an Outlaw/Pirate and can only use Kidds region (Pirate Refit) and free towns. They could give them one shallow region too (the other pirate refit region). So that one aspect is special for Pirates/Outlaws/Privateers. With the reputation system you can earn enough to become a full member of that nation over time. The same system can be used to leave a nation. You leave a nation and become an outlaw/Pirate. Than you can move to Privateer for a new nation and earn the rep to become a member of the new nation fully. While working for a nation you can only join that nations Port Battles and use there regions, you can't use or join any of there alliances Port Battles or regions (without the smuggler flag or it's replacement which could be Trade Reputation for that nation.) I would say use the Admirality officer as a means to get a Letter of Marque for a nation. Have them only work for a week at a time you have to buy them from the nation. Prob through PvE/PvP marks system so that it fuels the reason your being a Privateer for that nation...the PvP. This would make the Pirates nation truelly your hard core PvPers in game that isn't truelove interested in the RvR part but can still get invovled. See below on ships..... Ok as for the ships and crafting. Pirates/Privateers/Outlaws once a system like above is put into place can be limited to ships they can craft to 4th rates and below. The only way they can get a SOL capture it. When the ship is capture it's a 1 dura ship just like the current system. The only change will be that Nationals that capture ships that are SOL's will be sold back to the admiralty as per like the current system for NPC's ships captured in missions. All other captured ships of 4th rates and below can be keeped. Ships like the Pirate Frigate can only be crafted by the Pirates as it's truly a refit and it can be done like how another game done it. You bring a Frigate to a pirate port (Kidds) and turn it in to get the exact ship build as a Pirate frigate with the same 1 (Captured) or 5 (new ships) duras. They will prob have to make a few more ships like this for the Privateer/Pirates/Outlaws. They can use current ship models, but change the stats and names of the ship that has been refitted. I can see them doing a few of the trader/war ships that can cross overs. Trader Snow and the Snow. The Belle Poule and the LVG. Give you more trade space for the raids but not enough as it had as a trader, but give it more guns than the trader version. This would allow to have a new perk. False flag: It can make the ship look as if it's actually the trader version of the refit ships or a normal ship could carry a false flag of a friendly nation.

Content plans for the first half of 2017
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
I have brought up the ship officer thing several times and how it could work so that it's the ship and crew that is gaining perks not the player. As for the crafting stuff you can pick your one home port and that is where you get your crafting perks. Any other regions/ports if you try to build in won't get the ship building perks, but you can still craft in them. For clans it could be there home port for there warehouse that they might get something extra like clan dock space in that port. A lot more could be done. Right now my problem with the new system while it's nice for over all, but it now means XP you gain from crafting ships after your maxed level has no use. I used mine for gaining 5-10 officer ranks when I have to make a new one cause of deaths. What I don't get in rank from that is normally maxed out fast with PvP or even fleet grinding. -
contraband goods trader maybe? There is way to many things that could cause it.
-
Here is an even better solution...>DON"T GO OUT SOLO IN A 1ST RATE< Oh and my clan has caught tons of 1st rates out on OW this way and only used smaller ships to capture them. The funny thing is a few times they have friends that just leave them behind for us to over take and capture the 1st rates.
-
Sounds like your in the ROOKIE ROE area of the shallows maybe? I had no problem dragging in other AI around me testing things out in the deep water areas. Well I been playing around with test the last few days and figure I'll update my view on the patch we are testing. I just hope they get some of this stuff and some other new stuff in the game soon as it's needing a bit of a up lift to it in something new patch wise.

Raids explained - forthcoming feature
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Make Kidds the Outlaw/Pirate capital and turn Mort into a Neutral Town like Pitts is. It has green zone safe for all around the port and every one can use the ports of it's regiosn for buildings. This will give nations one region something to fall back on. Pirates can use all freeports and raided ports. So much can be done but I get a feeling they are going to give us green on green ant than the shaft. I'm not to impressed with these raids as I figure it wuld be a port battle like the old flag systems. 15 vs 15 would be perfect for them to and only have it captured for like 3 days. Than it returns to owner. Instead it's yet again another thing for the PvE of the game that doesn't support PvE. Sorry I'm not going to want to be in a NPC ship stopping a bunch of players in maxed out exceptional ships. -
On the way back from the Dane/GB port battle I got to wave at one of those new Spain's i haven't seen before. Had to take the limping mortar brig back to decom her as she was on her last dura. Very polite gent as we tipped hats to each other and I wished him fair wind. I heard the tell of this great capture. Maybe we will be seeing more from the silent ones. Maybe they take some regions back too. Just maybe....I still think we should of named our operation Pocket Holder. They didn't use that part of my battle plan, but I think any name works these days....You think if folks would actually fight instead of run or run there mouth they might win more. Goes back to playing Conan Exile and trying to get these HDD recoved before I loose the data.

Port Battle Timers - by day of week
Sir Texas Sir replied to Elric's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
These are world wide servers so we should be able to fight any time we have players on to do so except within a reasonable time before servers go down (2 hours port battle set since they are only 1.5 long would work) and time after the servers come back up. So lets say 2 hour window would mean 2 hours from when updates get done so 3 hours from server maintenance one hour. This will give plenty of time to get set up for the port battle with the new 30 min log out rule being put into place. If we where to lock times it should be like the old system where who ever captures the region can set one of the 3-4 prime times for that regions. Just use the times for the PvP events even though that is kinda short windows. Your current times listed leaves out SEA/AUS players during the week. It also leaves out folks that work nights or swing shifts. Many moons ago when I got into online gaming I would pick EU and SEA/AUS servers cause I worked the grave yard/night shift and by time I got home and the rest of the US was at work they are getting on to play too. I live in the US so why should I not be able to play during my prime times? We have some EU players on PvP2 also that would be locked out from player (even though you rarely see there prime time port battles). Think of this. 8pm to 10pm EST is 7pm to 9pm CST and 5pm to 7pm PST. Some of us are just getting home at that 5-6 mark if we are PST. Some don't even log on until later. Most of my clan doesn't get active until around that time for CST so we have to rush to get into the battles an set up instead of taking our time to do something an hour or two later and than finishing it within two hours. And remember you can only have 2 port battles attacks per nation. This would limit it even more with only one port battle slot per nation a night attack. Since it's only a 2 hour window and most of them take the full 1.5 hours to fight. Remember server needs to be set as if we have 1K plaeyrs all the time and not the current poplation we have on our server or even PvP1's -
Well we did what we thought was best, we just took it by force. You can call it a repo for goods or actions not render on yawls part. Lets just say we are collecting prizes of war. Just a reminder we didn't announce war with any one "Cause pirates are pretty much at war with every one." Well other than our Danish friends how we have had an alliance with for over 9 months now. Not once either of us have broke that. Seems breaking ones words is a DUTCH/US/BRIT thing.....We might take a few more regions with interest.
