  1. Ok did some missions this morning. Demast - Snow vs Rattlesnake: I took the Carros, but no mods I couldn't hit crap and seems the Rattlesnake was more nimble to me and i got shredded. Will try later with longs and keep my distance. Tried again with longs and I almost had the mast down but just too much damage. Again prob do better with a player built ship and taking my time. I don't realy have a complaint on this BR wise cause I liked the challenge, but it just seem the AI is way to accurate at a distance I was keeping mine and trying to dart in to get mast hits with sail shots and than move in for actually ball shots on the mast and just seems he would hit ever shot no matter the distance I was from him. He seems to turn way to quick to so I couldn't stern camp him. This seems to be a problem with most of the light ships that can turn on a dim and through wind and not loose hardly any speed (for the AI not a player). Kills - Essex vs Frigate: Got one killed but was torn up pretty bad so I ran for it when the second popped since I would be the only one on the score board one kill was plenty. Yah could prob do better knowing the build of the ship for sure. I used the 32's and just out DPS the Frigates cannons. I would defiantly want a better build than what ever default was. Something agile hull or turn spec as that was most of the fight was us just turning and trying to get the better wind of each other. I had plenty of time to kill the second if I wasn't so damage from the first. So like I said it would be way higher score if I had a player built ship I'm sure. Time - Cutter vs 2 Snows: started it just to see the match up and than surrender. I'm not a big fan of this one on the live server and tend to just skip it on the PvP2 server when did the mission. Yah as soons as I saw it was snows I just gave up as those machine guns are going to cut me to shreds. Never said I was very good at these things. That BR is to much a difference so some one else can try that one. Over all I think the BR's are a lot better matched up than say a month ago. Defiantly would have a better chance with your own ship built just for the missions. For the ships I used in the Demast and Kills felt better matched than before. I'll try again later when the ships are changed out to something else. I'll edit the rewards once that drops. Ignore my crappy score for the PvE Kills missions above. Though wanted to point out cause a log of folks keep asking about the smuggler flag. Out of habit as a pirate I never have a reason to take it off. Every one can attack pirates after all, but the Devs mention in a few topics that you can still attack folks with the flag (PvE Zone topic) if they have it set and it makes a Pirate FFA battle. Sounds like to me the Smuggler flag is the old school one we had back when there was Pirate vs Pirate which we are getting back this patch too. So there is a way to get into other nations ports, but you take the risk of being attacked by any one. Even your own nation.
  2. Easter is Sunday the 16 right? Think both eastern and western fall on the same day this year. So what does that have to do with a patch that is planed to drop on the 19&20th which is Wed and Thursday? For the majority of the world we would be back at work and our normal life that week. I'll add Jewish Passover is the 11 of April so that is before hand too though about when we should be expecting the patch on testbed unless we get it sooner than the by the 10th promise.
  3. That cause it's part of the game, you pick your fights when your can do the most damage. You don't ask, "Hay Christendom I hear your having noon tea so we are going to wait until three o'clock to attack your port." No I attack him while he has his feet up and kicked back having his tea and relaxing for a nice lunch. Than he says screw that nasty Pirate. I'll get you back and he calls his boys and they attack us while we are all at church Wednesday night (code name for the strip club). Than we go screw him we will get our port back while they are having dinner with their family. Point is we just keep fighting back and forth and some time it's not during one of our prime times, that is war. ***DISCLAIMER*** Oh this story above is made up. I have no plan to attack any one during their noon tea and I'm not saying Christendom has noon tea either and I can not confirm or not that I go to "CHURCH" on Wed nights, but I'm pretty sure I show up on the 2 dollar Tuesdays. ***DISCLAIMER*** PS I'm a pirate never trust anything I say.....
  4. Yah they where talking to much about the RvR side and forget abut the PvP and trader hunters. Your PvPers are going to be your RvR back bones for the most part. If you make all resources say around the capital than there will not be traders for folks to hunt and folks won't be on the OW to fight and you loose PvP and you loose the PvP players.
  5. I was secretly just waiting for a big giant brawl to break out, but than I'm a pirate and we feed off such chaotic fun.
  6. At this time and until further notice it should be about the 19th/20th of April (this month) so I would get on line and get things sorted before than. That and you need to pop in more any way we miss you.
  7. I wouldn't give up on those small nations so quickly. Many of the players that aren't part of big clans and such will fill some of those slots when needed. I think folks where thinking to much on the RvR point and not on the nation as a whole. Each nation have what we pirates call our Mort Rats. Clan-less and small clan pirates that tend to stick around Mort area but they do show up to port battles and help fill up the extra slots. That and we have won many a battles still out number so saying you can't win if you can't field a full team is a bit of BS. Yes big number difference odds are against you, but if your short one or two players it's not a death sentence. Not to mention those that showed only are a very small percentage of the actually player base and we might find out with the larger numbers of the merged servers and better ping for some. Some players in certain time zones that are traditionally lacking players might have more than we think in each nation. Though by the numbers I do think Spain is pretty much screwed, but that doesn't mean we should push them to one port just cause they might not have the players. We should leave room for a nation to grow if they do get more player returning later. Though over all I think it was a good meeting for starts and we will have more info the next one. It's a good direction for the server to have a few meetings like this when new patches and changes come out.
  8. and there was very little argument as we all had a common goal and was more info comes out we will have another meeting to work more things out. Even if it's only a small part of the population it helps get things better organized and balanced. I think we all know US and GB is going to be largest, we just need to make sure the other nations aren't forgotten and that there isn't any more mega alliances. With those things I'm happy.
  9. Though as per wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_oak The name live oak comes from the fact that evergreen oaks remain green and "live" throughout winter, when other oaks are dormant and leafless. The name is used mainly in North America, where evergreen oaks are widespread in warmer areas along the Atlantic coast from southeast Virginia to Florida, west along the Gulf Coast to Louisiana and Mexico, and across the southwest to California and southwest Oregon. I would say put in at least one in Florida Occidental (lineship) regional speed bonus or Apalache (shallow) no regional bonus Nuevo Santandor (4th rate) Regional Strong Rig Bonus. That is three more ports to think of adding it for a total of 5. This will give more reason for folks to fight over the Gulf of Mexico. Eve if you just add two (I would say Forida Occidental and Nuevo Santandor that would be two more than we have more and they would be more spread out. That will give you 4 area. With 8 nations than that means you have only 4 nations in control so some one will be fighting over one or two of them most the time or just trading with another nation to get it.
  10. There I fixed that for you....don't put us with the big boys...lol
  11. No I expect you to be rich and make the good ship so I can steal it. I'm a pirate after all. But back on topic I think 6 ports for the live oak or even add just two more for 4 that are spread out along the east US coast and Gulf of Mexico coast where Live Oak was actually found and still is growing.
  12. You forget, we capture ships...lol But they still won't be as good as one built by yourself. Though RvR is not all of the game.
  13. That is why 6 ports.....that way not every one has one, but you have a reason to fight over them.
  14. I think 6 would be a good magic number. Shouldn't be enough for every one to have one, but enough for folks need to fight over them. Much like how Mahogany is. I think there is about 6 ports of that too. Though what about only one Cedar port? Brit has the only one.
  15. I think he could be speaking of PvP2's BLACK pirate clan alliance with CCCP/CN of the Danes. We had a long standing alliance with them since almost a year ago where we help each other out since we keep regions/ports at each others backs. Our clans will prob keep this alliance going after the patch/mergers. They are almost all SEA players though so they have very odd times compared to the rest of the PvP2 players.
  16. To be honest I'm glad this game is SP or has a good play of it being so. I'm so sick of games that are made only to be MP and online. I travel for work a lot and many times bad internet and just want to chill and play a game. Hell most of the RPG's all are online based now or you can't play the content. This game was nice as something I can play a few fights and put it down and than come back later. I have gone through both sides each time a new patch comes out and each time the fights and runs up to the last battle have been a different experience. I'm willing to wait for a good update on a game like this so doesn't bother me it takes a bit longer than normal.
  17. I know it updated recently so seems they are still working on it, but your prob talking about "Stationeers" or what ever his new game is going to be. It was a cool concept but I think they just was to small of a team to get it out and sooner or later others came up with games of the same concept as DayZ but got more content out faster as there is about a half dozen other games like it out now. Though they are a bit crappy from what I seen, but hay I spent like 20 bucks on that game so it wasn't much of a lost if it tanks eventually. That the way I see most EA games I have bought is that they been cheap enough that even if I got a good bit of hours into them I got my money worth.
  18. Yes and no... It will look at how many folks you have in your group and add more ships for the fleet version. With the other side always having 1-2 more ship than your side. I have noticed that if I bring a bigger ship it seems to put in more bigger ships of that tier/rank of the mission. So I'm guessing that it does look at your BR and maybe weighs the mission a bit. That or just my bad luck with the RNG always throwing the harder odds at me. RNG really does hate me in games some time. Though in your example yes if you show up in a cutter you will be fighting a frigate. If you show up in a 1st rate you should still be fighting a frigate or ships of that BR range for the mission.
  19. Yah there needs to be a balance in there and that was why I had F11 the crap out of those missions when I tried them last month, but seems they tweeked them some and I need to go play them some. I'm not the best player, above average but the average player should be able to finish those missions even if they don't get the best time the majority of the time. The winners will be the guys with the best scores of course. Try them out and give your feed back. I seen this on live servers and on test, but I think they are getting better. Still two cutters against a Rattler, N. Brig or Mercury is going to be hard press when those ships can crew/reload shock you with ever broadside of their guns. I haven't been testing the missions in a week or so, but was planing to get on today after lunch and do so and spend most of today and tomorrow on testbed. We need more folks to log in and give feed back too so that some issues like this can be ironed out before it goes to live later in the month. Crossing my fingers and hoping we get an update in testbed this week for more time to test the new content.
  20. And I'm sorry the folks that think every one should have every thing just handed to them needs to get over it. No we don't all need be given every dang BP from the start. There needs to be an end game and goal. You want certain BP's and items you need to work for it and gain it in game. I like the concept of getting some of the rare BP's this way instead of the old random luck chance and such. Though I do hope the Meta ships will be the ones we need to get the BP through this way (H Rattler, Aggy, l'Ocean) so they aren't as easy to gain unless your one of the players that does the PvP or RvR means to gain them. While there needs to be other ships that the PvE guys can get from grinding AI, but these prob should be trader and merchant type ships. Would be nice if we had a bigger Merchant ships in game that is maybe up there in the SOL level of things with large cargo space (maybe not as much) and more guns than say the Indiaman? On testbed the Pirate Frigate BP is on the Pirate shop. It would be nice if this is the restriction to get it so that it's a Pirate mainly ship. Would be even more nice if this BP was only able to be used by pirates too. So that other nations have to capture one or get some one to make it for them.
  21. The first tab is self explanatory, it's the location of the missions. You can't take missions around capital regions. If it's a region your nation owns it brings down any agro in that area, if it's a region your nation doesn't own it creates agro. The Difficulty level is by rank. You will get ships of around those ranks. They match up close to what you would be able to crew around that rank. The box below turns it from a solo mission into a fleet mission. Normally your all ways going to be out number in fleet missions so it's better to do a mission a level or two below you until you get good at them. SO say your Second Lieutenant you prob only want to do Junior Lieutenant missions. I noticed though lately some of the ships match up and BR are a little off. Like I done midshipman missions and got ships that you couldn't crew until your Second Lieutenant.
  22. I'm going to bet you where doing the mission set up one one type of mission and while you where doing that it changed to another. The count down is that the ships change out every so often through out the day so they aren't the same ships and there is more than one time in a day you can place each of the missions. Though I thought there was a pause time between each one that you couldn't do the battle. Like a cool down. Will have to recheck later today when I do some playing. I'm going to beat one of those dang missions before the testbed is updated next patch lol The problem is the Trinc (short nick for it) should not be turning on the dime. The Essex has a turn rate of 3.11 and the Trinc has a turn rate of 2.56. That is a big difference. The Trinc also has some pretty poor upwind speed compared to the Essex. One of the problems is the AI in the game basically get all the mods on green level (I think) so they auto get mods that you don't have on the freebie ship and they do seem to do things they shouldn't be doing either. It seems they have tweeked the missions as the demast one I did the other day in a cutter was paired up agianst one ship of more equal BR so I'll have to go through and check each of the missions again. They use to pair you up with two ships of higher BR which was way to hard and pretty much impossible to do.
  23. Now remember any thing I remember is from before the F2P crap as I left the game. I remember your reputation let you see what was in the auction house in your region, other regions and other nations ports in that regions and so forth. Give me a second I"m going to log into the game and look at it and see what refreshes my mind. It's been ages since I played but downloaded like a month ago when some one brought the game up again and we where talking about some things about it. But yah a loyalty/reputation in your own nation can open up things in the shop. So a player more acitve and doing things like PvP, RvR and a lot of trading can have a better reputation than the guy that does little to nothing other than grind up his levels.
  24. A reputation system could give traders a means to be able to trade with other nations even if they are at war with that nation. As long as they keep as a player a good trade reputation. Much how the system helped you trade stuff in PotBS. Could be a interesting way to work around the alliance system that if certain players have better reputation with certain nations they can help them too. This makes it more on a player/clan level than a nation as a whole.
  25. I mean loyalty points could be something they give active testers or something, but the organization level thing could mean maybe a reputation system. I mean some one can dream right....maybe if we say it enough the Devs will think, "HAY A REPUTATION SYSTEM WOULD BE GOOD." HINT HINT DEVS....lol
