  1. Oh, beautiful lovely duel room! no xp no money no loss We should be able to pick who we want to fight, please. Random duel should be optional if at all Stats and leaderboards are fine, but then we need to muck about with BR ratio equalizer math for it to mean anything. Not priority for me. --- If we include loss and rewards we'll have so much pain. It will be way less popular with loss and it will be a private grinding room for the best players. There won't be "real" fighting with loss as players will agree to stop before sinking, like we have done for a year now in the OW, so why bother with a feature we'll disregard and sneak around anyway? --- Am I allowed to dream? k, then... What if we, in addition to our own ships, had a full or partial list of basic ships we could pick from? Fun for trying out ships, testing and comparisons. I know I'd go hard on such a feature and squat out speed profiles like a fiend.
  2. I think this is the stumbling block. Whenever I do hauling/crafting I absolutely detest loss. I think most players are like me. I've played as Swede, rat, Dutch and Danish. Crafters of all colors have stayed well clear of the frontlines, much more than necessary. How will you convince them that moving with you and the frontline, exposing everything to the risk of loss, is a good feature?
  3. Oh, I dunno for sure. But I think the server would have to track auto player ships a bit more detailed than the system/random based AI. When people wanted crafting to happen on a timer for each ship (kinda reverse of what we have now) it was denied due to server being bogged down in tracking too much stuff.
  4. But, surely [sORRY] must be a Canadian clan? <hides>
  5. I don't think we can. I believe admin has stated it would eat up too many server cycles.
  6. Like others already have said; we've tried it and it was terrible. I vote for ease of teleport for quality of life and not silly speeds or magical OW speed mods
  7. Back when we had unlimited character teleports I could fight. Teleport. Get stuff. Move stuff (yes, actual sailing). Craft. Teleport back to action hotspots. I enjoyed it very much. With that system I still had to sail an hour or so to get all the stuff for a big ship. We did have fighting ships ready "all over the map" but to me that's more fighting and that is what I primarily want from this game. We still have to grind and craft grind terribly to be able to put golden stuff "all over the map".
  8. Yes, good. ?! You may be right and I'm just very weird. But the only reason I've ever played any game for years is to go out and kill someone. Why? Because that's what's fun about playing against other players. Where? Where other killers are, full stop. Goals? I want to get better at killing other killers. That's the only enjoyment I want from any game Even my grind to lvl 50 crafting is because of PVP, this game doesn't give the best stuff to pure killers so I bit the bullet and did it. If players don't put value on "The Fight" itself (fun PVP, getting better...) can you ever hope to provide enough "reasons to fight" or "content" they won't get bored from within a patch or two? We absolutely know that if you enable killers vs. killers the content is endless.
  9. Lol, we didn't vote for leaderboards. PVP, man... PVP. We'll just have to wait for "winning the war", PVE and "more content" zombies to get more shinies to get bored from before it's our turn. In the meantime y'all can sit there and wonder why so many players go rat.
  10. True PVPers don't, but the masses of loss "aversives" (new word) need every nudge possible.
  11. I'd say teleports is the least of the privateer troubles. Many things are stacked up against that experience; prod buildings, free-port shipping, counter-tagging... Even if you took away teleports players would be able to change their habits and avoid you on the OW. People will try their utmost to avoid risk to their hauled stuff and will mostly succeed. I get what you say schematically, I just don't think it'll ever happen no matter how hard we try. There's the last hope of big and slow armed traders but I doubt even those will change the picture. Aversion to loss is such a strong force.
  12. I'm not so big on the "forcing" thing. I also don't want to spend even one calorie thinking about ways to make trader PVP happen, so boring. I don't see escorts happening at any significant scale, today it's only done by role-players and clueless players. Too much work and cooperation for a nano chance of fun.
  13. Here we are, barking up the boring tree again.
  14. Many of you are stuck in the craft-grinding mindset, Big ships are supposed to hurt, it is working as intended. Learn to love frigates and the game will love you back.
  15. But, but, but PVP is terrible without loss! <hides>
  16. Oh, they already have. Not all of them agrees with you, though. The danger of NA becoming a clickfest because of some "quality of life" features is as real as McDonalds ending up in the Michelin guide because they changed up their sauces.
  17. What if I told you I haven't done a single PB since wipe? I know peeps view it as the end-all-be-all end-game, I'm glad they're having fun, but I don't get off on those pile-ons. I QQ on the PVE grind too. If I could reliably gain rank by PVP I'd stop touching those bots. My hope is that OW hunting will get better and better. Francis can have all the gold in the world. I want fun and skill based PVP. Also, I don't hit girls.
  18. Those aren't PVP players. PVP players don't give a shit about traders. As a self proclaimed PVPer and, since the wipe, a hard core eco player (lvl50) I say that this fixation with vulnerable traders is a fruitless waste of time. It never mattered and never will.
  19. Aces High is a large arena MMO where three factions are pitted against each other. You control ww2 warbirds, tanks or even ships (to an extent). Many players are out hunting but you can also capture fields by leveling the town and dropping paratroopers to get ten of them into a command building. So, some similarities with NA. Both games have top of class fighting mechanics. But no grind and no economy. Every vehicle is created to perform as close to historical performance charts as possible, no game balancing. Balancing, or limiting, is done with “ENY” value attached to each vehicle and a cost of “points” to control certain (OP) vehicles. To fly the me262 you need to earn fighter points. If you kill a P51(eny15) in a spitV(eny30) you get a lot of fighter points. If you kill a Hurricane (eny40) in an la7(eny 12) you only get a little. You lose fighter points if you're killed while flying those OP fighters. Players can do exactly what they want. This eny and points system has successfully limited the use of OP vehicles to a minimum over a period of many years. In fact, many good players take out “shitty” planes and try to hit above their weight class. I believe this is a side effect of the eny and point cost system. Anyone can win in good stuff, but are you good enough to beat a better equipped opponent? The eny system is also used to balance out faction pop imbalances. If one faction has more numbers than another, the large faction is limited in vehicle choice, they can't take out the best stuff anymore. If you fight for the underdog you have access to all vehicles and point cost is reduced for the OP stuff. The RvR guys tend to join the winning side. But, again, good players often choose to defend the losing side for sport and point farming. Even after we had more points than anyone would ever need, we did this. This last effect would be so cool to have in NA but loss mechanic will never allow that to happen. All this explains my disenchantment with loss. No grind, no loss and no economy yet no one has ever complained about lack of reasons to fight.
  20. Something like this could be interesting. I've seen it at play in another game.
  21. But they are looking at those issues. It's hard, tho. You want PB endgame, I want PVP over anything and today some guy posted that he left the game because of the new crew toggles?!. They can't possibly answer every request me make all-day-erry-day. If you want to have it the way you think is best you should make concise suggestions and post them. Keyboard rage will never achieve anything more than a fart in the ocean does. I do appreciate the passion, though!
  22. It's a bit unfair because my forum politics go way back beyond your few weeks here so I can't expect you to get what I'm saying. Heh, imagine... There is a full year of nagging you have been spared When I whine about loss it's not for my own sake. Like Prater did in his above example so have I, Laik, Kaos, Puchu, Tommy Shelby, Generaljake and many others done many, many times; Actively sought out PVP at a disadvantage in order to get a fight. Just like Prater I have "documented" some of those encounters, with pictures, here on the forums. Where players in frigates run from my Surprise, players in connies run from my trinc and so on. I'm being boringly clear now, but please understand I am not a PVE humper or in any way afflicted with PVP aversion. I think our interaction can become more constructive, now that you know.
  23. But, Ronald, dear! There is little direction in your post. You talk about "direction" and "important issues" like it's common knowledge. For my part, I have no idea what you're talking about. Also.. .... .... ...... ............ .. . ........... .. ^^here is some punctuation and whitespace for you to distribute into your next post.
