  1. You forgot the most important bit: EVE: Absolute trash fighting mechanics. NA: Glorious fighting mechanics.
  2. Hehe, take out a hvyrattle, find a tsnow or something, proceed to weave-sternrake him with all the gamey manual sail jockeying you can handle. Actually, pretend you're me and do it without the shame that normally encumbers you. Film your pretty visage as you do it, send film to me. Drugs are a hell of a drug.
  3. Have faith! All the people enjoying true flightsims live this. We would attract a similar crowd.
  4. Aga tacks with her butt now. Surprise may be super comfortable now, but try to do the same in an LGV. Sailing profile matters more now and as a tool to differentiate between fighting pixels in a game I think it's terrific! Auto skippers will get stuck without hope of ever getting out without touching some keys. People with a clue will be able to swing their bow downwind faster than before after a tack. Sailing and fighting will be even more challenging and fun than before. These are the most fun changes in a long time, whatever the squirrels say.
  5. Those are some rose-tinted glasses, son.
  6. I'd love to help, truly. We need to liberate the fighting equipment from the PVE lords.
  7. It doesn't have a big player pop any longer, it's true. It made me real sad when the euro pop almost disappeared and I couldn't realistically keep on playing with the still healthy US pop. Keep in mind those numbers are steam only. It's only been on steam a month or two (?) and most players still download client directly and launch the old way. I could dig around if you're really interested in true numbers? Right now there are 125 guys in "open melee" room and US primetime hasn't started yet. So the steamspy (?) numbers only show an unverifiable portion of the actual server pop. I repeat: It no longer has a large player base, I'm not pretending it does. You know why it still "works"?.. Everyone there have a common goal: To fight. There is no grinding money in safe-zone, traderunning, hauling, port-clicking and all those parallell-solo-multiplayer activities. There is always many times more action in AH with 300 guys than in NA with 2000 guys (or EVE for that matter, I think maybe EVE has a worse pvp/pve ratio than NA). NA will never be like AH. That's not the point. Based on how time consuming putting in a way richer PVE world into NA with a corresponding "deep and meaningful" eco is, do you think it's realistic to hope for it?
  8. AH maps and PvP are driven by conquest, so it's not only a dogfight arena. There is no reason to fight in AH, nothing matters and even losing airfields or the entire war is completely without meaning and consequence. <gasp>. Yet it's been going on for almost two decades while these perfect sandboxes come and go. You're right there are some PVE elements. Ack-Ack at airfields to provide a destroyable safe-zone. Carrier groups that sail around aimlessly unless a player takes direct control. Bomber buffs can bomb HQ or factories that can influence... I forget, I've never paid attention. This kind of PVE content is "perfect" in the sense it's completely optional. People bomb shit for the role-play or to help cap an airfield. You never NEED to PVE. If NA was like this I would never have uttered the slightest moan about eco/pve. Average players are forced to PVE in order to pay their way not to mention grinding bots for fighting equipment required to stay competitive.
  9. Notice how I did not mention wot because you would go "naw, naw, mate, that's a MOBA game."
  10. Lol, ok. I'm half prepared to hear it isn't an MMO because it isn't also an RPG. Aces High (and before that Air Warrior and Warbirds). AH has an even longer track record than EVE, if such pissing contest stuff matters to you.
  11. I was around for Sinterklaas and zwarte Piet as a little kid. How does this work these days with a very different view on what's appropriate in relation to racism, cultural appropriation and what have you?
  12. When was this "day one"? I suspect you came in after the feature freeze, so to speak.
  13. I haven't played anything but MMOs since 1999. I haven't played anything with PVE during that time, this has been a very deliberate thing. I have collected quite a few friends during my time here. None of "my guys" will come back for better and more PVE, it will have the opposite effect on us. Maybe we're just super special?
  14. pls... no bulli, george
  15. Oh, ok. The devs don't read the tavern for serious-face game stuff. Oh, my! Try to keep your toes on the ground at least, will ya?
  16. Umm. The review was entertaining and explains that NA is a hard game. I have no beef with him. I wasn't being ironic. Maybe I took a little dump on you because I was not amused with you hijacking the whole thing to do a balls-to-the-wall crisis maxing. You know the meme: "We must overreact, NOW!"
  17. They are almost done with tutorial and they've mentioned that they're working on it many times. Your post would've been funny or edgy if they didn't work or planned for a tutorial. Besides my love for "100%", you are actually 100% right about him being 100% right about who this game is for: I remember the first interviews of Game-Labs where they said "you'll get lost and the game won't hold your hand in any aspect" (paraphrased). If you want to do satire you can steal this point^ We haven't ended up with anything yet. The game isn't out. It isn't free to play yet as you have to buy NA OW to play Legends. There are enough things right here and now to get our panties in a bunch over. "I'm super mad because in 17 months when I finish university there is a possibility that an oil crisis will strike that could cause cool-down in investing which might lead to very few job offers... SUPER MAD!"
  18. As long as the above stays true you won't have a problem, we've done this plenty before. In the age of super long join timers this was the only way to get a fight as nobody tagged out of fear of the hidden and even distant gank squad.
  19. Purdy fuel economy: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Airbus_A350-941_F-WWCF_MSN002_blended_winglet_ILA_Berlin_2016_08.jpg
  20. Haha, super cool and super ugly.
  21. The Norwegian Vikings had wool sails that were rough on the windward side and smooth on the leeward side to increase the effect that would be named many hundred years later.
  22. Like "amplified" Venturi effect by accelerating air from one jib across leeward side of the next jib? (Also look at F-104 engine bleed air over wing at low speed and 80%+ rpm) Lol, I can get quite excited by this stuff. 🤩
  23. Press "H" to make your crew go prostrate in extra devotional prayer. There's an even longer cool-down so you can just imagine how effective it is.
