  1. Of course not! That's how warthunder/wot/wows and others try to motivate people to buy the same convenience they see others enjoy. No premium content long term players are extremely rare if even one has ever existed. If OW PvP really is "murdered" by dlc ships I suspect the split between dlc and non-dlc players isn't 50/50. Maybe dlc ships are a problem on some level? I'm not entirely sure and I definitely don't care as I don't spend even half a calorie worrying about the alleged prime victim: eco. If ship diversity is the problem I could fix that by having an imported version of every craftable ship. I'm only half joking. Remember I would play Legends and not OW if given a choice.
  2. While I'm more than fine with average performing imported ships, I'm also a little worried how the OW would change with a massive 3rd/Pavel spam. I'm not saying it would ruin everything, just a tad worried. If we got a "middle of the road" 12lbs imported frigate I could see that partly "fixing" the negative perception of the herc spam; At the very least by diverting some attention. Even if I'm a drooling fanboi, I'd think long and hard before spending cash on something with a silly once-per-week value.

    Next DLC

    I miss normal rediii.
  4. I kept half an eye on that when I started doing it and I'd peg it at one bottle pr. 140 game days or very roughly 24 real hours. I suspect the drop rate has been decreased but it could also just be RNG tricking me.
  5. Well, I "worked my ass off" to get all the best books and at the same time got access to ingredients for the best upgrades. What did I do? AFK fishing for weeks and months. If the best stuff truly took hard work (PvP) to get I'd keep my mouth shut. @Liq, me and many other duel enthusiasts simply enjoy ourselves the most when there's no layer between the players' skill. I'm still going to duel and have my ass handed to me as time allows. I'll never use elite mods and with that decision I'll be kicked further down the ladder, guaranteed. So be it. I can't be part of this mod craze; I actually have scruples. Edit: To be abundantly clear I should add that there was some player trading involved after the bottles were farmed.
  6. 😞 Vernon, pls no bulli me.
  7. (Bows head solemnly) "Amen"
  8. This is some 7th level of... something when hachi is giving "oh, behave" speeches. Good post, tho, hachi. Besides the #twilightzone implications, ya, good post. ---- For the record: I love the concept of imported ships and how they enable me to skip the boring part. I hope they'll offer more of those later. I don't need any ships that stand out, just a normal frigate comparable to the others. I'll take those out instead and only resort to requin meta if I run out of proper ships.
  9. hehe. Ok, so I'm back at dabbling a tiny bit with tanks, but I do it with a sense of shame; I feel shame because I'm cheating on the most wonderful woman (Naval Action). I suppose I do because I'm low brow and don't like "playing it smart" (read: gank or run) and want to win because of individual skill and not team "skill". This goddamm wargame mentality of iF yOUr iN a FaIR figHT, yOU'rE dOINg It wrONg! sigh I shed a tear every day for Legends being put on hold. Naval Action is the bestestest game ever made, please liberate it!
  10. That's exactly where I am atm too, I'm not trying to lead you on. I'm hoping patrol missions can be setup to provide competitive fun (read: ganking blocked). I also have the dlc's but haven't used them for pvp yet, I've used an expendable frigate in the patrol zone, haven't had to deal with hercs or requins (note: I don't play all day, erry day... though, I wish for competive fun to be "unlocked" so I will want to do just that). I agree with @z4ys when he points to mods as a major factor in making the requin so "OP", by extention mods and their stacking is the true devil and has been for a long time. Also, the dlc "problem" is exacerbated by eco/crafting and people's proven inclination to bypass it. I actively dislike the eco part of this game so I watch the dlc butthurt with a measure of unabashed schadenfreude. Anyhoo... Here's what will happen: The dlc's will be balanced, either directly or indirectly by a global rebalance of unrated ships. You can always go back to WG's perfectly balanced premiums (literally 12 minutes ago): And this was on fucking Ensk which supposedly suck for glass cannons.
  11. Ye, sorry about that. I'll get to it soon. The values are a little off, but comparisons are still valid.
  12. I've never seen devs or mods close a topic which held a complaint or opinion. Maybe the wording was of a nature your mother wouldn't approve of?
  13. I have so much hope invested in this coming true that I feel vulnerable.
  14. Ye, I was there during the great iron depression of 2016 and remember the loud and universal discontent. People disregard whatever sense it may make and feel negatively toward the limitation forced on their individual play session (s). Whatever fancy new sense or systems we put in place; I can't see that it will ever play out differently. 10% of active players do something about it by engaging in RVR, the rest just suffer? (Numbers pulled out of my ass...) Good or bad for the game as a whole? I can't say.
  15. So you're saying most people want out of the eco/craft thing? How interesting...
  16. I actually get that concern. I've almost never bought any ships as the profit "margin" almost never is a margin but a multiplier. For a guy who've found pvp much, much more fun than eco and pve, I've been unable to keep up a cash flow to be in the ship market. So I've bit the lesser bullet (giggle) and crafted myself. The lesser bullet is still a bullet (forgive me) so I'll buy any DLC ship they offer me. The value of not having to port click or grind cash is tremendous. That said, I'm secretly bugged they picked such capable ships as the vanguard of the DLC experiment. Not that I'm absolutely sure they're as broken as some say. I would've bought something like a cerb up to Belle/Frigate which would've attracted less blind or informed hate... I guess. The demand that everyone HAS TO engage in eco/pve in order to play is something I reject firmly. Fun fact: I have both dlc ships but haven't used them for PvP yet. It's mostly taste as I have a blind love for proper frigates.
  17. Now, don't poke at the religious anti-DLC narrative.
  18. Signed, as always. This game shines extraordinarily in a one on one fight. No other game I've ever played is better, only a few other games gives an equal challenge and experience. Truly world class.
  19. Yes, ganking should be further encouraged.
  20. Hehe, I look at it this way; They don't know what they want or are conflicted. When presented with the IDEA of loss: "This is great! It gives meaning and depth to the game." When presented with in-game loss: "This is terrible! This will drive me and everyone else away from the game!"
  21. Then on the flipside; Why should traders have so much safety? Is it bad for the game that people rolling around in big personal trader fleets stand to lose all their shit when they don't have sufficient protection? The obvious solution is to stop dragging bots around and limit your exposure to loss and re-tagging by sailing one ship. Why is that so bad? I don't believe in the concept of pve grinding in all it's forms and in (total) safety is a long term health factor for the game.
  22. Saw this on imgur. I have no idea if accurate or useful.
  23. Lol, no! They're just playing smart, this is a war game, you fool!
