  1. Sure, if they choose to stay and don't leave your slow ass in the dust err... wake. If you win against a gank it's mostly a tale about their lack of training or extremely poor build choices. I agree that the cheap woods are perfectly fine for fighting. You give up the chance to take initiative, though. I've used a few sabicu ships in the patrol zone. Few people seem to accept a 1on1 even in the zone. With "shitty" woods you have to get used to watching people's stern decorations.
  2. Google translate: I think she will be more used if she is not in the PvP mark.
  3. He has some pretty neat charts as well: I'd say these are excellent for a quick glance and finding the best possible escape vector. You can hover mouse to get knots readout. I sent a new support request to infogr.am. Maybe we get lucky?
  4. I know, I know, it's terrible. We had that functionality when we used plot.ly to display the charts but that was buggy in other regards, plus it's a ton of work compared to infogr.am. I've contacted infogr.am and begged them to make a "deselect all" feature. Maybe @Felix Victor can help you out when time is of the essence with the ship compare tool on his map site?
  5. Not a problem! (No, please sit! I'll show myself out...)
  6. Many of us have F11'd that.
  7. Look at that, @Teutonic Some posters have turned to timers as a way to make first rates rare, "a clan effort" and all that jazz. I don't feel strongly on this issue.
  8. If it makes people less timid it should probably boost crafting. If you craft fir/oak/sabi/cag ships you'll probably pretty much break even when you sink. Guns on top is one thing but people tend to go crazy with uninsurable mods and woods which won't be covered fully, not even close is my bet. For every sunk ship there will be resource extraction, hauling, gun crafting and mod shenanigans.
  9. Yea, noticably faster on my end as well. I love the new crafting in that they've stripped away all that clicking. Let that sink in... jodgi loves the new crafting... Something must be wrong and I need to stop complaining about the crafting bit.
  10. I know there are others that want this and they might find this topic. I think those that want first rates to be time consuming to craft like the EVE approach. I like frigate fights and want as little to do with crafting as possible, so I'm not the best audience for this.
  11. This has been discussed: Server hardware limitations makes that hard. The database would have to keep track of everyone's little and big timers. They can do this in EVE because they have lol combat there. In NA the server has to have resources free to keep track of every single shot of ball. "Maybe in the future" was the last comment on that issue I saw.
  12. No. If memory serves it is to economize database and server resources. I believe admin said it's one of many things we could have when server hardware can handle it along with everything else.
  13. Exactly. People should feel free to extract resources, haul them, click, go to sea, sink, collect insurance and end up with slightly less money.
  14. That changes when you change frame and planking.
  15. But you can do that. I've clicked "resources" to hide all trading goods for a very long time.
  16. @Prater used to have a good idea of OW speeds. Probably @ObiQuiet and others too. This info is hidden in very old posts. From memory the OW speed readout isn't even knots.
  17. It's a case of "be careful what you ask for". People complain about port visuals looking off when ships are moored close to the pier. Easy fix is to move ships away to mask the scale and texture issues that become obvious up close. I'm opposed to making port visuals a priority because it's one of the least important things I can think of.
  18. They've talked about bringing aggressive bots back. I'd be fine with that around capitals but I remember how terrible it was when I had to waste time dodging and escaping bots. Please don't force bots on me!
  19. Who has contributed so much without having NA on their Steam account?
  20. Admin has stated that feature will go poof.
  21. Just extracted fir, now it costs nothing compared to yesterday.
  22. I wouldn't prefer a static image at all.
  23. I didn't mean to complain but I'm aware I sound super bitchy when I talk about eco activities. It's very easy but it takes time to get crafting up and running when: I'm not saying it's off as far as sensible eco and crafting is concerned. I emptied the generous cash redeemable setting up an operation close to what I have on live. I did one 5th mission (46k reals) for cash to extract fir and oak to click out a ship. It reminded me of getting started during austerity patch. Maybe I'm used to having so much cash that emptying a building doesn't matter for my wallet; That I have lost touch with the starting experience? The fact that I find the easy cash grinding to be the hardest thing to do is a matter of taste and has no bearing on eco/craft feedback. Like @Banished Privateer hints at: I can't crunch the numbers to know if this is austerity patch Mk. II, the second coming of easy money or somewhere in between.
