  1. People say tow to port is unrealistic:
  2. I started with windsurfing as kid. Went on to sail and capsize an Askeladden jollyboat rigged with sails. I still sail bermudarigs on occasion. Oh, and I've sailed with an old luxuryliner built in Trieste in 1952 from Tenerife in the Canarias to Lome in Togo (Africa).
  3. OP made this fight a gank and complains the victim tried to wriggle out. Neat.
  4. Ech, why do we make such a big deal out of bigmouths?
  5. From my experience it's part and parcel of any online game.
  6. That's fine but they won't have that kind of time on their hands for a long time. In the mean time I'm happy they gave us API.
  7. Ah, I think I've seen comments to that effect. Nevermind those guys. Devs released api data for us to use, they want this. They are happy when we make stuff and so are we.
  8. I don't think anybody is.
  9. When you click "use" with a blueprint you learn it and the "use" click doesn't make anything. That should only happen when you go to "crafting" and "manufacture". Did you do that as well but the crafting click didn't produce anything?
  10. I'm with him^ Maybe there is a limit to the instances? But I doubt we can get to it within the time limit.
  11. Oh, crap! What did I do?
  12. Ugh, the silly horned helmets that absolutely have to be included as a reference to Vikings. It was some German national romantic that pulled that idea out of his ass. We're so sorry, but it wasn't our fault that these pre-na... ...tionalists had a hard-on for us.
  13. From memory: It was put in as a debug tool. Didn't get updated along with mechanics changes and gave incorrect data in some cases. Was pulled out to avoid annoying and disinformed bug reports. That's my diplomatic version. Remember when they pulled mast pen feedback? I bet shotlogger was pulled for similar reasons. We're not supposed to know, it gets in the way of the sandbox experience, puts too much power in the hands of players with a clue, affects mod and tactics choices too much, mystery and fog-of-war guesswork is replaced with skill... It just won't do.
  14. No, not with this version of the game. I don't think ping matters much on PvE.
  15. Heh, imagine those who tag get the shrinking circle of death while those who get tagged can play like today. It may be fighting fire with tactical nukes but cheeky princes would be taken down a notch or two. Fighting griefing (your mileage may vary...) with tribunals won't work.
  16. Ye, and they will stay lost when F11 goes poof. Don't look at me, I used vedmed's when that worked.
  17. It's decided we're going to do away with class and list poundage instead.
  18. Devs have made a game where it is rather easy to fend off ppl coming at you with boarding as the primary attack method.
  19. Try imgur.com, gyazo or one of the many other image sites. Keep your pics there and link them here.
  20. Sure they can. Where on the priority list should they put it?
  21. We had that with regional trims. I don't remember the given reason for it's removal, but I can guess at alt-advantage and frustration over nice things behind an (elitist) RvR wall? Us low moral fiber types were fine with that and fine woods, I guess, but "normal" and honest players suffered?
  22. Yup, we had to kinds of ships: Gold and trash. If we get a system like OP hints at or the same by some other grindable mechanic we're back at only top ships.
  23. Is it that easy now? I remember grinding for weeks (months?) The first time around.
  24. I'm sorry but the whole idea is to make gold ships super--duper rare. We're not supposed to be able to quality control anything.
  25. Had to look it up, you're right, they're pretty darn close. Except for thickness, you sacrice a bit of thickness. Minus 4 thickness may not mean much in frigateland... Hmm... good find, I might start using mahog/sab.
