  1. Steady boys...steady...FIRE! RELOAD! Rudder hard over! Steady now...steady...FIRE! Grappling hooks over! BOARDERS AWAY!
  2. Im fairly new here so not sure on certain aspects of the game. If it is simply open ended, a mission editor might not be useful. But imagine making scenarios like the Constitution and HMS Guerriere. I know we dont have that ship...yet...but a standin would work for starters. Or battling Black Beard along the Carolina coast. The what ifs are unlimited.
  3. Would love to be able to roll my own...
  4. Pretty exciting eh? Cant wait myself.
  5. I agree, the channel or Med would be nice. Duels with French, Dutch, or Spanish would be interesting indeed. Glad you recognized me from the wargamer. It was your thread about NA that brought me here. Ive pre-ordered now so am waiting at the Admiralty for orders...
  6. I was wondering today at work...yep, its a great place to let my mind wonder...about crew training. Training of officers and crew is a pretty vital function on any warship. Warships usually would "workup" before being sent on deployment. Crews would train in gunnery, damage control, ship handling, etc. I always liked the part in Master and Commander were Lucky Jack was training his crew in gunnery. How will the game reflect training? Any ideas on that or what the future builds might add? Thanks...
  7. Love those videos on youtube. Only problem is the sound of the water makes me want to pee...now where is that chamberpot???
  8. defiantely would like the game to be a sim, at least as far as the ships and enviorment behave and interact. Sea swells, sounds, wind, currents would all be nice to have modeled. The ship should be influenced by these things as well as the skills, training, and motivation of the crew. I would like to see very realistic ship handling, gunnery, etc. Real world risks such as fire, mutiny, boarding, etc. would all be outstanding in my little world. I also know thats asking a lot of the devs. One of the nice things about DCS flight sim is that it can be scaled for the casual player and the simmer. Maybe that would be a good option here too.
  9. Just registered on the forums. Wanted to start the ball rolling with a hello to everyone and a few comments on the game. As soon as I can afford it I will pre-purchase. Would love to sail that yacht in and around the Dutch estuaries and along the English coast. Been lurking in Dastreuxs' thread over at wargamer checking out the screens he's posted. The game looks absolutely outstanding. Being a former BM in the US Navy, I would love to see how small craft feel underway. Looking forward to hearing the rush of the waves again...
