Gunsight, Steam's Login API well.....isn't very good. For such a mission critical system, it's down far too often. Please post here if your problem is still not resolved. Rebooting your computer to clean up the Steam Login may help too.
-
Fellow Captains, let's keep this thread funny and not political please so that we can leave it up.
-
Even if you change your entire computer, your steam ID is tied into your steam login, not your computer. Logging into Steam under the original account you were using will get Naval Action right back onto your computer.

How to post images?
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Pt_Lacky's topic in Forum and website problems and improvements
They may be similar looking, but they may not be the same version of the software. -
Well spotted sir, thank you!

The Home Camera will not render objects outside of the "range" of your view from your ship. At a certain distance, the land and other objects cease to appear and will not appear until you come into view range. While the Home Cam can be used to get a closer view of a very distant ship, that ship is already in sight of you. It can not be used to range freely about the entire map looking for things.

This is where you report players for in game violations that are not related to the contents of chat (e.g. abusive or profane language used towards another player). The community is also able to weigh in on these threads on whether or not they think there was a violation of the rules and what they think a suitable punishment, if any, would be.

Twitch Employees have absolutely no jurisdiction here. I'll add that such a rule is simply unenforceable - anyone that happens upon you could be accused of stream sniping with absolutely no way to prove or disprove that they were (unless they, themselves, admit it). Stream all you want, but I'll again say that if you do so, you are opening yourself up to people knowing where you are and what you're sailing. Stream at your own risk. If there are a group of people outside of a port you're using on a regular basis, common sense if you don't want to fight them regularly is to move to another port. They have just as much right to be there as you do, and they're playing the same game with the same rules that you are. Finally, I am a volunteer Forum Moderator, not a Game-Labs staff member. This isn't "my game" any more than it is "your game".

If you're streaming, chances are, you're going to get "streamsniped". The answer to this is simply not to stream, or to accept the fact that by streaming, you are broadcasting crucial intelligence about your whereabouts and capabilities to the entire planet. Mr. Shelby has already apologized for streamsniping you in a post here in the Tribunal. To my knowledge, watching someone's stream to gain intelligence on them is not against the rules. With regards to using Open World Exploits, you will need proof in the form of screen-shotted evidence of Mr. Shelby admitting that he was wrongfully utilizing bugs to gain an unfair advantage. At the least, please submit an in game report (F11) of the exact steps required to use such an exploit. Without screen shot evidence presented, this post will be locked in 48 hours. Thank you.

If the offense involved things said in the chat (e.g. profanity, personal attacks, etc), the correct response is to right click the offendor and Report them inside the game client. This tribunal is no longer being used for in-game chat offenses. Additionally, the chat log itself is inadmissable as it is easily modified prior to posting it - screen shots are required to prove misbehavior. Thank you.

restoring durability
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Carandrian's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
This can be discussed at the following thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/5896-restoration-of-durability I'll go ahead and close this as a duplicate. Thanks for posting! -
Ship Customization
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Randasd's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
This topic is being discussed at http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/6858-ship-customization-options/?hl=customization . Please take a look at that thread and, if you have ideas different than those that are already discussed, please add them there. Thanks! I'm going to lock this thread as a duplicate. -
It's not just new accounts, please read here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/6615-unable-to-change-profile-picture/ I'm going to lock this as a duplicate thread, but please try a PNG and see if that helps. It's not Game-Labs fault, there is apparently a bug in the forum software, which is created/maintained by a third party.

Add a Dislike/Downvote Button
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to ww_y6's topic in Forum and website problems and improvements
Most times, down votes are used as a social weapon by larger groups/clans. Some people troll to receive them. Game Lab's choice to use a "Like" button is the best implementation I've seen in a half dozen different communities that use this forum software. If you don't like it, don't like it and move on. Easy. Changed topic title to reflect the thread content. Edit: I should clarify my statement above. It should have read, "If you don't like a post, don't like that post and move on." I in no way meant that the poster should go away if they didn't like not having a dislike button. My apologies for any confusion. -
The original thread is here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/4301-what-kind-of-pc-do-you-have Please use that thread to post your computer specs. Locking this thread as a duplicate.

That moment when your dreams get ruined. (to become a mod)
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to ww_y6's topic in Tavern
I've moved this thread to the Tavern since it isn't related to playing the game. Moderators are, when needed, selected from the pool of forum posters. Criteria to become a Moderator include being helpful, having good knowledge of the game, not having warnings or frequent violations of the rules, showing a good understanding of the forum rules posted by Admin in the News section, and demonstrating that you do not have a temper or a propensity to troll or cause strife. If you want to become a Moderator, your best bet is to post constructively on the forums regularly, be friendly and helpful to everyone, and demonstrate maturity and good decision making. -
Polish Subforum Moderators.
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to nornica's topic in Forum and website problems and improvements
I've brought this to Admin's attention, thanks for the suggestions. -
The point is that if the card will run the game, at something that is playable (if not perfect), we should not be discouraging people from trying the game. Getting told you can't run it simply because people are spoiled with expensive rigs that others may not be able to afford does not do anyone any service. You don't need to discourage them, please tell them honestly that it should run at low FPS, that many of us have found it to be playable, and it's up to them to make the decision on whether or not they want to try it.
-
This isn't exactly twitch gaming. I found 15fps to be extremely playable.
-
No worries. Good hunting sir.

That's an outdated version. Please check steam for an update to Naval Action that you can download.
