  1. Neither do I The avatar TP is very useful but can also be a corruption of the system. But I like how Anolytic puts it, and I suggested before. Free ports are non-aligned. Their masters feel no need to provide nationals with support, so no docks space for them while providing outlaws with safe havens and ( hopefully the Pirate havens once Raids are implemented and Pirates are worked, but another discussion entirely ).
  2. .The battle screen should show a timer running down 5 minutes and an Log-off button to properly signify player options. Perfect for me. Thanks for putting all this together Skully.
  3. Do whatever you wish with your Nations. Leave true piracy untouched regarding character teleport please.
  4. 24 hours battles ( actually we did weekend long battles ) is done for many wargame scenarios. In truth it is a lot of battle being played simultaneously and then campaign judges compute the outcomes and declare a victor. Impossible to do unless there's set piece battles in NA. Edit: I didn't vote as I my POV stands with the triple timer. Battle timer is set for whatever timer and the system automatically creates 2 additional timers, for the 6 and 12 difference timezones relative to the time set.
  5. Don't worry. You'll be a statistic in future history books when casualties are listed.
  6. Second most distant free port from your position. Should be okay even if opened at a capital.
  7. You should check Admin posts regarding that. game styles, pve and pvp won't merge. They might share the map and server but will remain separated by land, as in atlantic versus pacific.
  8. Agreed. But at the moment that's what we have ( yay! ) and that's already a good thing. As the entire text was focused on complaining about the bottles and not specifically suggesting ways to give way to exploration playstyle it is easy to get the wrong idea
  9. Maybe it was my way of explaining it, sorry. Maybe you are going to "tasks" that require a ship with a crew complement bigger than what you can afford. There is no rush to anything, plenty of players do only pvp. No missions, no AI.
  10. Exceptional Extra Planking, yes.
  11. Hostility is one of the mechanics and the single one we be testing this August. Plus we have no idea of the threshold. It might be very demanding. IMO BR difference in battles should work towards Hostility with ratio. So, from 0.1 point up to whatever. Meaning a Invader adds 0.1 points to hostility if attacking Owner in a battle with equal or above 10 times BR. Attacking equal BR means 1.1 point, and with under 10 times BR, 10.1 points. You get the point.
  12. I could point you out to the old cartographers guild thread but hey... *shrugs*... Easier to use the maps that already done by them and dismiss their exploration playstyle
  13. Getting stranded on that Island was not the end but maybe the violent hunger and thirst that the captain and its crew were subjected to made them establish a pact to declare war on the world. A new chapter of gruesome piracy, ruthless chase for riches and violent taking of prey under self-imposed "hardcore pirate rules" is about to kickstart. A starter-pack of pirate ships ( as historical as NA allows ), no cash, nothing on the warehouses. Living in free ports, lost amongst tavern greasy tankards and tuna smelling girls from the brothels, stealing and selling whatever loot will be found. Rules I will be following as much as possible: Why ? Piracy is a viable playstyle with no ties to Conquest, Diplomacy or Navy rated ships. as a bonus I leave you a nice little video from a very good little production group.
  14. I think that hits it. It defers the choice to the player, as a good sandbox.
  15. I know you are only looking to the PvP part of things, but PvP is senseless if it is not tied to the economy that supports it and a true National feeling which is simply forgotten given the freedom given by free ports which in truth are the main hub for self.made.captains ( non aligned captains, privateers, buccaneers, pirates and smugglers ) - Free Ports should be exempt of Taxation as a positive, for all resource/materials businesses. The negative is limited harbor spaces, reducing ship parking to one. - Nation Ports should apply tax to all transactions even the direct trades ( tax in cash, or tax in tons ) shared by both parties.
  16. Can work if the Nation Crew pool would be introduced
  17. Meet at a port. Play the game with other players. Be at your ship deck, play with the crew bots.
  18. Awesome !!! Love this kind of cartoons.
  19. I might be wrong but a wreck hunt is kind of a...hobby thing, or at least it should be. Main mechanic regarding wrecks is moving people out of the zones and sail to the far side of the world. The rewards were good for this but nooooooo everyone had to cry they were too much. Now that they are mildly interesting there's more crying to be closer. C'mon guys, think a bit. The entire purpose of bottles is to make people explore the map while injecting upgrades into the system to be tested.
  20. We were having a nice chat on TS yesterday about chimps and bonobos and evolution. Funny how things relate sometimes.
  21. Absolutely. Well brought up Bulwyf. Indeed a most needed change that adds a bit more of realism credibility without messing with game fun.
  22. Yes. Makes sense only after the Lieutenant ranks. 1st to 3rd ranks stay in the academy. After that you are sent to a navy station somewhere
  23. The road is towars Such is a Lord. This August update is just a initial implementation. Please oh please do keep in mind the big picture as well as testing the fine little mechanics.
