The Tournament has been, probably and just my point of view, the most focused combat mechanics testing since Sea Trials. Was very specific with a specific set of combat rules, which varied from as much DPS as possible within a time window to the more prolonged full timer which saw, actually to anyone dismay, little variation hence, maybe, new changes to the combat trials. So, with that in mind and with the amount of data gathered and yet to gather let's have one more deep breath and wait slightly longer.

It is all about Combat Mechanics ( Sea Trials ) changes that are to be included in this patch. The tournament is in the final leg. Hang tough. I am overly excited for the new upgrade as much as I was for Land Ahoy upgrade but I rather see it delivered as a whole - including combat changes - that only the other aspects.

Yes. And still some folks insist to have the battle markers ALWAYS visible. Oh the amount of raiders camping mission battles could be ridiculous.... ... it works both ways -
I don't recall ever reading any promises. What I remember reading is that might be possible to -or- there are plans to.

Regarding the first part, the immersion collection of topics, there are projects out there that are actually aiming for that. Search for them. The second part of the topics is really puzzling. You claim activity increase but point out automated routes and fleet strategy deployment. My question is: You want to play a naval officer in your flag ship with a NPC fleet in tow or you want to play Admiralty / Indies Company ? Because the second options is not Naval Action but more another already available product. P.S.- About the immersion you should search for a certain single player project being developed. Shame it won't be MP though which is a major major plus in NA and any game.

That is something you fail to understand. It is not a need. It is a necessity. And many of us NA players do not "live" stuck up in ports. -

As long as me, myself and I can logout in the Battle Screen I am fine. Obviously I would leave the game running going out... forgot to mention that detail. And against any automatic ejection to the OW, so... 5 minutes are more than enough for me, myself and I. -

Join a combat -OR- start a combat ?! I take a break from the game in BS... go for a 5 minute walk to the beach ( yes, it's that close \o/ ), have a beer at the bar, get back after 30 minutes and login back into the BS. So I have to spend the next 30 minutes doing absolutely nothing ? Or am I missing something here ? -

Salute to Alex Jas for the 1v1. Was a good lesson. -
Ya-harr, nothing like a narrow escape to keep the blood pumping. Good show

can you add the musket size puffs of smoke along the rails for a test run ? No idea if it will impact the fps much though

Naval combat is all about dismantling a ship and force a surrender, battering a crew by constantly shooting the wooden walls and force them into submission and to surrender, or overwhelming the enemy ship with boarding crew and force it to surrender. NA Combat simulates all of this with a couple shortcomings, one of them being dynamic Morale of both ships crews. Another shortcoming is the effective difference on guns. At the moment any frigate will be quite comfortable facing a 74 as it will dish out more destruction with the carronades as the 74 can do with double amount of guns ( mediums and longs ).

Speedy versus Gamo has as much of courage and daring as it has of deceit and fog-of-war. It is a spectacular example of a complete success using everything that could be used at the time, indeed a great extreme example but it wasn't that simple as you well know for sure. The musketry were one of the reasons why most sea rovers in small fast ships didn't dare to take or stay and fight, big ships. They would get slaughtered. On the other hand they themselves made extensive use of musketry to dismantle prey vessels. For the game, and speaking against my own love for the schooners, this suggestion of automatic musketry is golden for the man'owars to keep the unrated and 7th rates in check.

Maybe if everyone went GG and enjoyed the hobby in a friendly way there wouldn't be any issues. But when ghetto banter takes over, it becomes obvious there is something wrong and it is not about more or less color or more or less black. It is the vocalization of violent a domination in the map blah blah blah...we da best ! War...war never changes.
