  1. Hello GreatTimo. I don't know if you read the entire Developers announcement regarding the ships quality change and the why but I am sure you missed the entire purpose behind it. Here: Basic ships are simply out of the box, no alterations. While Exceptional ones will be the ones customized as you wish, with more or less hold space, with more or less crew places, or even altering characteristics. It will be a major change on how to craft the ships and very different from what we have now so tracing comparisons is not really correct. Imagine that all the trims and modules become part of the ship when it is crafted, so we may have the opportunity to build exactly how we want instead of hunting this or that trim, this or that module.
  2. Well I would say that's a norm in our game community fox2run, we have old timers left, right and center from a multitude of genres backgrounds. Truth be told a MMO veteran doesn't see things the same way as a wargamer does and doesn't see things as a arena/combat/fps player does. And we are all in here trying to give ideas to make the game better. Gladly we test our own ideas. I am very sure we've tested some of the ideas you support but didn't work properly as much as we just tested some of the other's ideas and they are not working as first thought All good.
  3. Yes. They keep their free port option although they lose their naval bases option. Sounds like a compromise ?
  4. Funny is ever Pyracy would become naturally more inclined towards being "robbers at sea" due to secondary effects of conquest mechanics and real population not working unified - hence emulating why any single pirate confederation lasted at most a dozen years. War supplies idea is good but not in the context of hostility. War supplies should be the preparatory step towards a offensive like stockpiling supplies in a Naval base to arm a invasion fleet as opposite to the idea of arming rebels.
  5. IMO the Outposts should be looked as obsolete. Every Regional Capital of the nation/alliance should be a naval base for ships and then have infrastructure buildings increased to 8 and possible to build anywhere within nation/allies. Non Allies should be open to trade only in Free Ports, direct trade no need for outpost. ( smuggler flag only to sell to store or buy from store ).
  6. You are right on the upgrades thing but what if those disappear and the ship is built from the ground up as you want making modules obsolete ? Wouldn't 1 dura be worth testing then ?
  7. There was multiple voices that said that the gank folk would use them as well and that the fleets option would go inflated. This is the result. a 5+10 vs 5 is not the same as a 5v5.
  8. Given both PBs and OW fights were full and aplenty it was a success to everyone involved in the sense of everyone having a go at pvp combat. Regardless of timezones the alliances are covering each other, I see no issues.
  9. There is no limitation for anyone wanting to play historical piracy. If any player wants to do it is just a state of mind. Force yourself to use historical pyrate options. Proper ships as recorded, schooners, sloops, brigs... Play for the maximum profit per crewman. Try to stay alive as much as you can with the same ship. Is there anything in the game that blocks a pirate nation player to do what I mention above ?
  10. Yeah Was a total paella mess from my POV.
  11. Refitting system would be something worth gold IF a 1 dura system would ever triumph.
  12. One dura is a good proposal to test once the new ship architecture patch is on and modules become part of it
  13. I like the reorder of things as Salty Dog puts them. - Supply the war first and then engage in eording security by raising hostility. Kind of a system where you declare where to focus efforts and then attack/defend as needed. Should focus population engaged in Conquest and OW PvP a bit more.
  14. Big issue with the previous one Spud was the spawn. Spawn on top of opponents is a no go. Right now the sailing distance is translated into the instance. I am eager to test a new RoE as always. Join later ? Spawn in the 2nd circle correspondent area the furthest point from the fight. Proceed from there. Or else we will see spawn ambushing all over again.
  15. Old Socialize perk in action. A battle that started as a 5v5 IIRC progressed towards a massive 5v17... fun (?)... sure. Even so some of the socialites left the battle so absurd the battles was regarding numbers and BR.
  16. Given it opens join ability to a roughly equal BR I don't any issues with going a pyrate flying schooners or light cruises with such low BR.
  17. I seldom dwelve in economy except on the sense where traders must populate the OW as much as warships do. By all naval action gods one of the best implementations, which truly opened way to many playstyles, was no teleport with good on hold. I remember a lot of player testers going through the more complex economy suggestions since OW was first implemented. The ideas are good, very good. We are now testing the implementation iterations.
  18. Gaming and any other hobby is a leisure activity to be enjoyed in spare free time. I have no idea if this notion is foreign to you or not, but even with a house to care for, youngsters to look after, a job and a few other hobbies, many of us can spare a couple hours to play Naval Action. We are going back into the loop you started months ago. Any way the community can help you to get that spare free time you so much envy on others ? If not please abstain from judging others by your own standards.
  19. I am intrigued on this would work. How to intercept shipping if time warp would be in place ?
  20. What is your point ? The RoE is here to stay. Fine with us, it is a great RoE and the best so far. Social comes back for all the others that are not fine with it. How is it balanced ? Equal BR. I bet the socialites will be hating it but you know what it might just the right recipe for them to start enjoying proper PvP and build up their confidence. Fleets waiting outside is not new, it has been here forever. It is a fact of "life". So you keep smashing the wall. Is not coming down as much as spawn camping is never eradicated from a FPS, go figure.
  21. I was being generic and not specific on this case which I don't really see as a exploit but maybe a feature under testing, that okay is not really working but due more to a force of nature called human organization ( defeats the machine ) rather than bending the rules. There are too many limitations already. That is my entire point on the 5% analogy.
  22. I'm not. But I understand the "need" to cater for a solid fence with two grazing grounds. ( I will risk burning my hands saying that it will not be used that much and we will still read a lot of... 15 mins was much better *wink*... )
  23. By all means I wear a #nofleets t-shirt, make no mistakes . But there's a lot of solo players that rely on fleets for their daily hour or so of playing . It is a compromise.
  24. Rewards anywhere if equal ( roughly ) BR, sure. Else...no.
  25. Too many player fleets on PvP. I dont mind the OW fleets. OW fleets being drawn from the 2nd zone of the circle, sure they should be filtered somehow. The tag zone is okay if they get dragged i.e. lone trader staying with a OW convoy. If players fleets are to stay, make them 2 and 4 perk points respectively or similar.
