  1. Absolutely. The Santa Cecilia, for example, is a pleasure to look at. Can almost 'touch' and feel the model.
  2. Can you post the screenshot of the build ?
  3. Want a Bermuda Sloop made out of Fine Bermuda Cedar, Rigging Quality and Nassau Boarders, just for RP purposes
  4. I'd promote something similar to Trade Tool, in the fashion of tavern talk, of the ships that passed through/are in port with active players.
  5. I won't disagree with you Jodgi, it is indeed a player mentality. But give the latest prizes there's a few Fine and MC ships being used out there and plenty of pre-patch exceptionals. I guess more pvp attrition ( wishful thinking... gank or be ganked wooohoooo ) is needed to grind out the old exceptionals and stabilize the market.
  6. That is correct, but it is a player side choice not a mechanics fault imo. I see crafters asking ridiculous greedy prices for common wood ships as I also see crafters lending their services to folks that want to assemble a ship providing materials. Same as before, nothing changed.
  7. Never had issues with attacking anyone I wished. Only issues I had was to be joint force against a common enemy due to a triplet War status between the battle participant and that's not even worth mentioning. What does that has to do with pyracy aka. robbers at sea ? We are looking with different lenses to the same subject Be the Tortuga brotherhood or the Nassau republic the black nation apparently is here to stay as such. *shrugs* Comes down to the player to self-impose a proper pirate playstyle with all the limitations needed to properly RP, which is excellent as the game provides room for it being a nice sandbox.
  8. Not every ship must be built of Fine woods. I might be saying something horribly out of place since I do not craft ships, bu shouldn't the best resources be used to build Conquest fleets while the rest of the normal OW squadrons be fitted with normal everyday resources ?
  9. It is an advantage IMO. I could raid any trader I wanted, anywhere. If that's not a plus I have no idea what kind of pyracy you are playing
  10. I agree with the blueprints being unlocked. End of. On the rest... All nations have access to woods and other necessary items to building of ships. The situation simply demonstrates that they're not the exact same types of woods everywhere so trading is essential, much as smuggling, trade raiding, and alliances and conquest. ( wow, look at that, three playstyles and a wargame ) Metals can be found in the vicinity regions for all nations and right from the start of a new conquest map it promotes the very first alliances and the very first regional conquests. Quoting - "If you want it, come and claim it." It has nothing to do with the individual player but with a national wargame, which will affect all players equally. Like with combat, easy to learn hard to master.
  11. Many misconcepts ( which are simply the opposite of the reported history ) but overall the very same suggestions as always. You forget one of the most important things to sea rovers - crew. In game a pirate shouldn't simply push a button and refill crew, therefore loss of crew is catastrophic, hence why many if not all sea rovers did not attack prepared enemies as they would stood no chance. No idea where the boarding bonus would come from unless it would versus trader classes. One of the times they had to face a force of ready marines and dragoons they were pushed back with roughly fifty casualties to a mere half a dozen to the spanish. Another thing is that during their navy and maritime time they did so many menial tasks aboard that going on the account to spend their time doing the same was not a reality.
  12. Nice setup but.... tell me about the wind please. Which fleet is where ?
  13. Game spans from 1670 - 1820, Brits can be as bad as they can be good, same as with all nations including the US. We take on the average credible and consistent crew abilities. Reloads were much longer back in some iteration of Trials.
  14. Yes. The presence of the massive 1st rate fleets was for OW screening purposes aka. let's fight and fun
  15. A hobby is never a waste of time.
  16. Yes. Maybe one even in the island itself. Would promote the Conquest fleet logistics instead of eliminating them.
  17. That is correct, being NA a open sandbox that actually has mechanics that allow it.
  18. The game has never been better. Even yesterday was talking to a gaming buddy which has been watching a good deal of gameplay videos of different playstyles including mine. Obviously he had a lot of questions, the main being related to the "mmo horrible" grind. Had to tell him my truth. There is none and the combat is very easy to learn although the mastery requires practice. All ships are usable for a multitude of tasks and obviously one is not taking a schooner to a PB as much as one is not going to take a heavy frigate to chase blockade runners. But hey, this should be really obvious. Had to thread lightly on the crafting side but could transmit correctly the relationships between regions, specific regional productions, and how trading of goods and especially the rare goods fuel the shipbuilding industry. Called him to the attention that, being a multiplayer game, that everything is more fluid when a group of players work together instead of him trying to get everything done on his own. Given his love for history and simulation games I am sure he will love it to bits. The game has became even better than before. The entire caribbean feel more credible now. Resources where they should be. Conquest as it should happen. Combat evolving. Shipbuilding industry and trading being more specialized.
  19. It is a game about liberty that gives all the options to plan whatever you wish to do. What you do with your time is your choice alone. Want to craft !? Help traders buy buying their stuff. Instead of 200h you only need a dozen clicks. ---- trade fuels crafting fuels war fuels trade fuels crafting fuels war ---- Turning your back to the whole cooperative gameplay, proudly alone... is your choice.
  20. No idea about this but would it be possible to use the API to extract this information, so to make entries in a personal record ?
  21. The Oak tests show even larger blades in tighter groups. https://youtu.be/9NConxlRNwg?t=16m24s Maybe they are more lethal but affect less area. *shrugs* Some of the rakes in game are horrendous but that's not the splintering for sure but direct iron on flesh. Best so far, discounting the big ships with hundreds of men packed together in the galleries, has been square 90 on a perfect angle rake with 32 pounders carronades from a Niagara into a Renomee. All the shots went clean through the entire length and even damaged the bow.
  22. The more elastic a wood is the deadlier splinters will become. Potential energy being released into a flying blade of wood. On the Niagara test one of the Oak splints was as big as a longsword, pretty sure it would slice three crewmen in a blink of an eye.
  23. Are the ideas for Land Lords still on the roadmap for further implementation taking advantage of the new regions/forts/conquest ? Can we hope and expect a hardcore/ironman mode for Outlaw/Pyrate ?
