  1. tried the "historical" situation of frigate messing up with a SOL, 2 broadsides and the frigate was a wreck which felt on the spot. but the same situation with a OW hugging tag brings everything backwards with the SOL "by mechanics" allowing the armed ship to come under the guns with impunity which wouldn't happen. I propose the spawning distance to be as per Fighting Instructions / Rules of engagement at the time where the warships would shoot one cannon as signal for the unknown/enemy ship to identify itself or get ready to be engaged at a bare minimum of 750m

  3. As told by Admin and authorized to answer a lot of posts with the exact same question.
  4. Just to make it more clear for everyone. _________________ If you are to be dealt disciplinary measures you will be dealt disciplinary measures. Disciplinary actions on other accounts are not of your concern. Reports work at all levels. Keep reporting using the provided tools. _________________
  5. Be more interested in welcoming the PvE crowd than worry about the PvP crowd "abusing" anything. Start of discussion immediately puts the PvE guys aside and the objective, as I see it, is maybe just maybe to dilute them into the PvP universe ( happens now and then unless sailing to hot areas ). So, think positive and let things flow. We survived entire open EA with all kinds of "loopholes" already. This one is not a huuuuge one. Rather a opportunity to fuse the entire community.
  6. Random Number Generator ( generation ) It is pretty much used all the time when a mechanic relies on "roll a die"
  7. Last sentence should be a clue. ( thanks for the image btw )
  8. Access to Ship schematics will be by Crafting level instead of RNG drop, so, pretty much.
  9. While I don't disagree I can see a newcomer virtual pilot crash a lot on take off, burn out the engine and overall spin a lot in the runway as well but eventually have all things come together and rejoice in having made it and learn the why he made it. Question: Is the newcomer area experience a success or did the veterans abused it ?
  10. Gotcha. I suggested in another thread that any, ANY, tag attempt is visible to everyone in the area - everyone sees the circles. That would solve a lot of issues.

  11. those were the level zero rodents of anarchy online. just saying
  12. Well, can't disagree with the logic present so eloquently by Z4ys. That zero makes a world of difference Also captain names should have the ' So one could name oneself Admiral de L'Ocean
  13. Gnashnab is an 18th century northern English word, meaning someone who just complains all the time. Contemporary synonyms include nitpicker, moaner and grumbler. It's just as true now as it was back then—no one likes a gnashnab. - Zounderkite is a Victorian word meaning idiot. This is an appropriate example with a contemporary Naval Action angle, spoken with some irritation while sailing in the seas: "That zounderkite just cut me off!" - Fopdoodle A fopdoodle is someone of little significance. So if you're letting someone get on your nerves that really shouldn't have the power, remember that they're just a fopdoodle. Then carry on.

  14. I don't disagree with that nor will I agree. It is a social thing, not a mechanic thing.
  15. Aye. Hence I gave a more interesting distance value Rouleur, sir, please explain, I didn't quite get what you meant.
  16. Which maybe explains we are not teaching them but giving stuff away and helping them grind away ?
  17. Given the OW position translation into battle a timer must be on because the instance moves as ships sail in battle. Signaling already has it correct. Ships joining later will spawn at some 3000m average. Why reinvent the wheel ?

  18. 100 yards !? 500 yards ? That on top of the guys that had the trouble to do the tag dance.
  19. Now now captains, this ain't the parliament. No need to fight.
