  1. Good assessment but certainly not in the most correct thread though.
  2. Along with Control. Why ? If quicker to run distance increases, gets out of control. If slower, will get caught, no need to tag all the time. If same speed, becomes a wind duel instead of the jackhattery of "coward".

  3. ahahahahah also, they posted it on Facebook as well back then as much as in steam IIRC so to cover the most interested players as possible
  4. You didn't read any of the Admin/Dev announcements then. Updated mechanics would be deployed into Test server first. Fixes to known issues were already solved in Test. Once the patch would be ready it would be deployed into production. Hence the wipe. Hence the update. I know, it is a lot of information during a early access phase with a ever changing game Can we move forward ?
  5. You had all the time in the world to discuss those patches in the respective patches threads. I will risk to say that 90% of the population of PvP server do spend 80% of their time doing PvE activities. I know a handful of players that did rank only by PvP and it includes Officers after they got implemented. I have no idea where this is going of what is the idea you are trying to pass but it is not coming through. So... we looking forward or what ?
  6. Test the chain shot in testbed, you will like it and probably even suggest something on top of it, but test it first. Thoroughly. Hard to tell from the testbed about the whole perk revamp as it is still on half half, with modules on, officers off, perks being the same. Fleet related perks seem like a good compromise, being cumulative and correlative levels. Also you will like the coastal defenses spread and roaming AI. I am really looking forward to the wipe and all associated changes.
  7. I'm trying to get some free time to pursue that specific research. Might need a bit more than just the first page of search

  8. I get what you mean. OW became void for a while now, but was due to natural progression of many mechanics, many of them seen their use distorted by the players themselves. It is not that the ideas were bad, it was that the use given by players messed up a lot of the rest. One of the strengths of NA is the web of mechanics relying a lot on each other but also to touch a string means changing odds and ends in other areas as well Hence how I reason the many changes. To bring life to the OW.
  9. There are decisions of late made not by vocal groups in the forum but by RL statistics that prove RL probabilities. That's the business part I guess. We do not have the data. We cannot pretend we know all. Devs were pretty intelligent slapping the Game nations %% population in our faces and show... you think you might know and damn...sometimes you don't. Regarding the upcoming features ( and even past features ) to be introduced I rather be surprised and discover myself. Blind delivery, exanima style, dark souls. Explore and find out, etc, that kind of game. In this case of the wipe I will have to agree with the developers decision. 1. It is a major change, and many players do not play everyday, so giving them advanced warning is a plus. Actually a warning in the login screen would be beneficial at this point. 2. a couple of weeks to take a break from one or more years of non stop Naval Action. Maybe even doing just a bit of Testbed. I agree with all playstyles. The combination of all gives life to the OW and the map. The only thing I really disagree is the players always trying to bend the rulebook - at the wargame club we call them beardies.
  10. If i'm not mistaken a Nation flag must never be replaced. And has to be the bigger and most visible. Fleet ensign comes second with the Flag Squadron ensign coming third. So, IF it would be implemented I see the Nation flag being as it is with the "Squadron" pennant being in the tops or half size small under the nation flag.

  11. There is a noticeable FPS gain on my end in battle with land and in battle without land. OW seems better overall but the gain is minimal.
  12. Play and let play no ? Sometimes, just sometimes, and right now is one of them, pvp community becomes so cold and bitchy and acid that shuns Players ( yes you read it right ) to more paceful pastures. Not because of the challenge but because of the social swamp. Take the wipe phase as a way to look in retrospect on how to evolve and not how to encroach the crap talk which shuns away so many people that literally - can't stand with juvenile inflated egos. On the other hand there's the time spent. A player in PvE server might log in, do a couple fights, haul a big of cargo, all in 1 hour, and log off to do tend the family. In the end no one has to prove anything. A big chunk of the NA community loves the game for what it is - grand game in the age of sail Friendly competition ?! Absolutely.

  13. Players that come fresh come without any "habits" will have no issues with the new economy. So it is imperative we also let it go and woe naught about "good old times". Handing out stuff is nice but adds a lot of shortcuts to learning.
  14. Let the good fella' go. The chapter comes to a close. Let it rest.
